I enjoy seeing stages and what have you. But when we go 3-5 weeks without a character, that's a problem.
I understand you're mad.
But it's best just to sit back and be patient.
There's no point yelling over something you can't control.
I don't give two ****s about Yoshi. Any character would have been fine.
...And I've realized you missed that point.
What I was getting at is that we're so used to tossing info because it's not what we want.
Shouldn't we accept all info instead of complaining?
And yes, it is perfectly acceptable to find this game disappointing if the right characters aren't in. If Sakurai adds too many off the wall characters, then he's doing it wrong.
Yes, tell the man what he should do. That'll work.
Because we, the consumers, know better! Heck, we should take development!
See where I'm getting at?
And if I we're to ask, why not?
Why can't we have oddball characters? Why, cause they're not Ridley?
That's ridiculous. The point of Smash is to be a showcase of Nintendo's history, not a wishlist.
Yes, characters like Rosalina are acceptable because their movesets are awesome, and they were at least requested.
So then characters like Mr. G&W and ROB should be swept under the rug eh?
I don't mind an all-star. But IMO it'd get boring if everyone was just expected.
What's the matter with a little change?
And don't tell me "Well they're retro characters." You know what I'm referring to.
But if Ridley, K.Rool, Mewtwo, Palutena...if they don't get in, what then? 4 of the top characters completely ignored? Is Sakurai still some sort of saint?
I wouldn't say "saint".
But, I could care less.
Like I've said, I don't mind which newcomers we get.
So what do I know?
Obviously, we have plenty of time for those characters to be revealed. But in my opinion, particularly with veterans, there is simply no reason to have such a drought. If they want consistent hype, it should be 3 weeks at the most.
Well, maybe they want to show other topics.
You don't know that.
We should be lucky we get info? Uh, no. That's what advertising is. Any developer should give us information to keep us interested. Sakurai keeping things until release would be suicide. Especially with characters like Wii Fit Trainer. Who would have any interest in Smash Bros if they didn't know the characters? Stages? I certainly wouldn't. The reason I'm here, is because we get this info and can look forward to it. Saying we are lucky to get this info is asinine.
What I'm getting at is that we complain about every piece of info we get (even characters).
It would essentially be the equivalent of not showing info period. Because that's how we treat it.
I'm going to buy the game either way, but saying that we shouldn't be upset at characters we want not getting in is foolish. The entire reason people buy this game is because of what is in it.
I never said that. Now we're just putting words in my mouth.
Heck, I've gotten mad at newcomers before (I.E WFT and Rosalina).
But you shouldn't just toss a game because your "fav" isn't in it.
I, as well as many people, are here because of the characters. Gameplay mechanics are great. I like hearing about it. But I would MUCH prefer we get actually exciting character announcements in reasonable time increments.
Well, maybe you.
But there's others who are more than happy just the way it is.
