Well, Peach was revealed on the anniversary of Mario Bros. (but was later made to advertize 3D World), and Lucario was revealed on the anniversary of Brawl, so.....
I'm not saying anniversaries equal characters, but the possibility was still out there for larger names like Zelda and Pokemon, both of which being recently passed.

Peach is debatable as she was revealed the day before and didn't have the weekend excuse like King Dedede did. Even if that's the case, Sakurai didn't give the anniversary any fanfare so it's possible that it was just coincidence.
Right now, it seems he doesn't really care about anniversaries if their name is not Super Smash Bros. considering that he's ignored many more (along with the ones you said, Metroid, F-Zero, Ice Climbers, etc.) then he has paid attention to.

Well I think Peach's reveal was a random one, if she was revealed exactly on the SMB's 28th anniversary date, it wouldn't be such a simple coincidence.
As for Lucario, it is a more particular case in which Sakurai could have revealed any other Brawl veteran, like Wario, Lucas, Ike, R.O.B. etc.

I would like to hope that we get something of interest this time around, considering how much the intrigue in most posts has certainly picked up. If he does post something useless for the 200th post, though, I could see Sakurai making up for it by confirming a character on Friday. It does seem to be about that time, after all: it's been about a month since Diddy Kong.

Eh, I don't see that really happening with Wario. His moveset is already unique. So if he is getting changes, it'll be more like Pit's or Bowser's. Sure they have noticeable changes but it isn't something too extreme. I would like to think that Ganondorf and Falco would be the ones to receive these more drastic changes.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. It's like they tried to make him a three-dimensional Mr. Game & Watch, despite the fact he obviously moves with just as much fluidity as any other Mario character within the Mario/Wario games.

I don't mind Wario's jaggy movements, I honestly like how weird it makes him. Then again, I don't care an awful lot about Wario outside of Smash anyways, I like Sakurai's odd take on him more than his canon appearances. Yeah, I fail to live up to my name, but I don't really want it anyways

I can totally understand the novelty of his animations. I just feel like, while Brawl's roster was close to ideal, a lot of characters - namely, newcomers - had issues. But these issues seem to be finding cures this go-around. While Wario's bad case of skipframitis isn't a major qualm, it just isn't him. Yes, he's a very bizarre abomination of a man...but he doesn't need to skip frames to portray that. The fact that he picks his nose, farts, itches his butt, bites people, eats garlic by the cloves, is an awful sport, shakes his butt at the camera to taunt his opponents, dresses up in tight pink spandex as a Final Smash, and does so in public with absolute confidence in himself is gross enough, in my book. Not to mention the two-sizes-too-small overalls, with his flab trying to escape from all available crevices. I do understand it being frustrating to see one's favorite fictional character portrayed in an a way that's not faithful to the original, I'd be absolutely furious if they ****ed Ridley up (like a certain Other M did.) I take it that's why you didn't main him in Brawl?

I sympathize with you. While I wouldn't call him my favorite fictional character - that would be Meta Knight, who is on the complete opposite end of Brawl's "Did We Do This Character Justice" scale - Wario is still up there.I can't.

Personally, I think if Jigglypuff being Fairy type had involvement in Smash, it should be a recovery move or a fairy type Final Smash that Jigglypuff can learn in the games.
