Well, I don't really have problems with the roster, because it's BluePikmin's dream roster.
It's not really supposed to be looked into deeply due to it being based around personal preference instead of prediction.

If you could have a roster of 78 characters in Smash, what would it be?
Note that the rules required for Smash don't apply, so 4th parties are allowed.

Serious post: Impa coolness (or lack thereof) doesn't even compare to Sheik's Braid.
That's if Impa is going to replace Sheik, anyway.
Otherwise, I wouldn't care too much if Impa became playable, though I honestly don't think we need a new Zelda rep at all. I instead want them to fix Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf and make them more viable. I feel that having the Triforce holders represented is good enough for Zelda, let other franchises get some love.
Couldn't agree more, and I apologize if I came off as a bit harsh to playable Miis. Truth be told, I think Miis have potential for some creative "Build Your Character" type, but I have little confidence that they will implement such customization, which is where most of my apprehension stems from. Still, if characters like Mewtwo, Ridley, and K. Rool get in, then by all means I'll welcome Miis with open arms

What if Mii's expanded on Peach's Forward Smash.
A Mii's A button moves could largely be based off a weapon. Down B switches the weapon and its stats, but not the attack animation. Except maybe for a smash or two.
For example: the Mii could have a tennis racket and fencing sword from Wii Sports Resort (and possibly a third weapon/item/tool from a Mii game). The tennis racket might have less range, but be quicker with more knock-back. The fencing sword would have range and might do a little more damage.

Firstly, why remove Wolf, Ness, Pokemon Trainer, Jigglypuff and Ike? If this is a 'dream roster', removing characters is a completely unnecessary thing to do. Whilst many people consider it realistic that a select few will get cut (though even for a realistic roster, 5 cuts seems unnecessary), I don't think anybody actively wants cuts to be made. The point of a dream roster is that it doesn't have to be realistic, so I can't fathom why you'd axe that many veterans.
Secondly, the newcomers they've been replaced with don't exactly win my favour either. Daitouryou, Geno, Harry, Drake's Crew, Lip, Nook, Resetti, Nintendo, Kawashima, Miror. B, Metal Face, Sable and Balloon Fighter are the main offenders. Why would anybody want this many obscure and/or second-fiddle characters? It doesn't scream 'all-star line-up' - it seems more like a selection of characters based purely on shock value. Villager represents Animal Crossing well enough on his own and Pikmin definitely doesn't deserve a second character either (unless it's Louie). Metal Face has no need to be there and there are far better third-party choices than Layton (though getting 5 third-parties at all seems incredibly unlikely).
3/10 overall, my faith in Smash would be shaken if the roster ended up looking anything like this.

I'll start with some positives:So no topic.. Well here's my dream roster:
How would you feel if this roster happened?
-Lip as a Retro does my heart good.
-It has Ridley.
-Harry seems like he would be an interesting choice.
-I can appreciate the concept of Dr. Kawashima.
-No unnecessary Zelda characters for the sake of adding one.
Now, for the downsides...:
-I don't know what a "Mirror. B" is, and don't appreciate it getting in over Chibi Robo.
-Way too many Animal Crossing characters. I think it's safe to say that Villager pretty much encompasses anything an Animal Crossing character can do.
-I don't think any of the three Pikmin 3 protagonists can do anything outside of what Olimar can do. Making them one character doesn't change that.
-Ness was cut and replaced with no one. That's like Marth or Olimar getting cut...and being replaced with no one.
-Way too many Kid Icarus reps. I, personally, think that two is a little unrealistic, but three is really pushing it, no matter how awesome Hades is.
-What's a Metal Face?
-I think that plenty of characters with actual fighting potential could be where Nintendog is.
-Wolf was cut in favor of the more cloney Star Fox character.
-WAY too many third-parties. It leaves a disgusting flavor in my mouth that will never come out, especially when so many Nintendo characters are left untapped (K. Rool, Chibi Robo, Dillon, Isaac, Ray, etc.)
-Speaking of which, where is K. Rool? Usually, people at least replace his rightful slot with Dixie - or, less often, Cranky - but just not adding a DK character is almost unheard of.
-Geno.
-As much as I want Balloon Fighter, Villager's recovery says the he isn't happening.
Basically, despite having some interesting choices, this roster's neat ideas are greatly overshadowed by the overbearing obscure oddities that could potentially be more All-Star-worthy characters, as well as too many third parties for the same exact reason. And unacceptable cuts. I mean, I'm prepared for the worst-case-scenario possibility of Wolf getting cut, but Ness? Ness' exclusion would literally shock and disappoint me.
EDIT: Just noticed that P. Trainer and Jigglypuff were cut and replaced by Zoarark. I wouldn't like that at all.

Well, here's my 78 character dream roster. I threw in some characters I'm not particularly fond for some balance:

At any rate, at 78 characters, All-Star mode is gonna be a huge pain in the ass unless they change things up.
In fact, I'm wondering if they're going to do the same thing like in Brawl -- the thing is, though, I felt Brawl's far too long. And of course this leads to the question: how big will the roster be? Can't wait to see what happens.

Personally, I think Kamek, Bandana Dee (Don't kill me Chandelure), Dillon and Chibi-Robo fall in this category.
