You know what? I want to play a game: Add which characters you'd add in the roster as newcomers of all franchises currently in smash, third parties and total bias allowed

Mario: Captain Toad; we need that completed Mario Kart Roster and I want to bury pickaxes in my enemies heads, gawsh dammit. Daisy, Waluigi and Nabbit to have all the major characters and all the playable characters.

DK: Dixie Kong, K. Rool: Both obvious additions. Lanky Kong; favourite Kong bias.

Punch Out: Doc Louis. Not entirely sure how, but he's one of my absolute favourites.

F-Zero: Samurai Goroh; the samurai we deserve. It'd be nice to see his huge ego and personality become a real character.

Kid Icarus: Medusa: Female villain and a nice petrification stun gimmick thrown in.

Kirby: Bandana Dee. The Kirby character we need.

Zelda: Impa, Ghirahim and Tingle based off their HW movesets. Vaati for a second toon rep.

Pokemon: Meowth. Genwunning with other relevant anime Pokemon. Could have him use Team Rocket traps and other Rocket Pokemon. Alakazam to hit people with spoons and my favourite Pokemon.

Fire Emblem: Yarne. Taguel abilities and sums up FE nicely; terrified of dying.

Mother: Porky; Bowser Jr and the Koopalings are cool but another mecha wouldn't be amiss.

Mii (add a class): Mage. Only one we need.

Pikmin: Louie with a bug moveset,

Pac-man: Ms. Pac-Man as an alt.

Metroid: Ridley. Mostly to shut everyone up.

Sonic: Tails. My first ever video game character.

Animal Crossing: Tom Nook, Isabelle. Everyone's favourite loan shark and secretary.

Wario: Captain Syrup

Yoshi: Kamek using various Yoshi's Island villains in a summoning moveset.

I personally feel that Fawful's a bit too minor, only but now that I think of it, he could have a rather comedic moveset

I doubt he'd get picked, but I don't consider him too minor. He's practically the main antagonist of the Mario & Luigi series. He's Cackletta's Dragon, but at one point tries to hijack the plot himself, then after the fact he goes into hiding and plots his return in Bowser's Inside Story.


He's certainly far less minor than Nabbit of all characters. Captain Toad I'll give simply because he's Toad.

Ehh, not really. There are always going to be more obscure series in every medium, they can't all be triple-a. Nintendo probably has the most well known IPs of any gaming company...

Just because a series gets a lot of attention doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be the level of Nintendo's heavy hitters. Look at FE, it has like fourteen games, but most gamers could probably only name the FE characters who have been playable in Smash, if that. Maybe only Marth. Maybe none of them.

TBH, I was never all that big on Ridley. Him not being in the game doesn't bother me as much as it does others. Maybe it's just because I was never able to get invested in the Metroid series.

Very unlikely, I'd say. Whether it be potential legal issues (Snake), technical limitations (Ice Climbers), or simply a lack of demand (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Pichu, and Young Link), there are a number of obstacles that stand in their way. I can't really image we'd get all of them back.

anyway it pisses me off when devs ask for characters not on Nintendo imo its a slap in the face to Nintendo fans which smash caters to if meatboy or artix get in over deserving Nintendo characters id be pissed, and for indie characters at least Shovel Knight, Shantae, and Cave Story are on Nintendo and I never heard of artix, why would a Nintendo fan want an obscure 3rd party they've never played?

It's still in the realm of possibility but Roy and Wolf are the only 2 vets that are almost a given at this point. I for one would love to see all the vets return to Sm4sH though.

Also, on an incidental note, I found this recently - my "dream roster" pre-ESRB leak. I wrote this as part of a challenge between my brother and I just after Robin's reveal trailer, and looking back on it now, it's hilariously dated.
