Either Snake or Rayman. I simply like both characters. To go further on, probably Snake because of how interesting of a character he was. Considering his continuing support from fans, I'd say he has a decent chance of coming back. Rayman is is in the similar position of having rising support, and also because I'd say he's the most likely new 3rd-party newcomer.

I would probably go with Rayman. Banjo is nice and all but he hasnt been in the best of situations. Plus everyone seems to pretend like nuts and bolts doesnt exist. i still think it was a pretty good spinoff

I think the vacuum created by Megaman and Pacman would have to be filled by someone, and Rayman makes sense. If you take Shortie's poll that I linked before and remove companies that already have representative characters you are left with:

What vacuum? There's nothing wrong with the third-parties as they are. Not every company needs a character in Smash.

I didn't look at much rosters or lists, only about 30 or so, but I found Rayman & Pacman to be consistently appearing there.
With Snake to a lesser extent, a sprinkle of Geno (urgh) & Bomberman and a pinch of Bayonetta pre E3 2014.

Well I'm sorry to say, but you aren't remembering correctly. If you want look at the typical roster, please refer to that thread I posted.

Youtube might've been filled with a bit more Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and third-party, but there was no real reason to expect Rayman OR Pac-Man before their respective involvements, and neither were on very many rosters before those events took place, sparing ofc those totally unrealistic ones with like a dozen third party characters or more.

If you think Snake appeared on fewer SSB4 rosters than Rayman, I don't know what you tell you. That's just not even a little correct.

I agree, I am just stating that Rayman is one of if the not the most logical characters remaining when it comes to filling that void. The only other characters that I could see out pacing him comes from Sqaure Enix (and MAYBE Layton as well.) The problem with Squeenix is that there is no obvious choice for a representative, so infighting among the various fan bases will likely result with Rayman having a larger over all fan base.

Even though I absolutely adore Rayman, I'd go with Banjo.

With all the popularity Rayman's been getting, I can wait for the next Smash game for him to get in. Banjo on the other hand, this is probably his one and only chance he'll ever get to be included in Smash. It would be nice to see the ultimate pipe dream character actually get into Smash Bros.

My original argument was that Rayman would likely have garnered a decent amount of support even without the fake leak due to fans looking for a new 3rd party character to rally behind. It had nothing to do with whether or not he would actually make it into the game.

No one really had the vote beyond Pacman and Snake before launch. The wheel's been reset with DLC, and the fans had to latch onto someone. Like I mentioned before, Shortie's old poll only really had Sora ahead of him as a viable candidate.

I'm sure most Banjo fans feel the same. Which is perhaps why Ninty and M$ should strike a deal to release a new Banjo game on 3DS, as well as B-K, B-T, and Conker on VC.

Also, this image should prove that Banjo is more Nintendo than any other possible guest character, including the ones already in. He's essentially the face of the N64, as well as Classic Rare, and for that more deserving than anyone on that ballot. He's the ONLY correct choice to vote for.

A vote for Banjo is a vote for honeycombs.

I should really play a Banjo Kazooie game someday so I can actually see what the whole fuss is about.

I really enjoyed Donkey Kong 64 as another of Rare's N64 games (Well besides the dreaded minigames at least) so if it's a bit like that then I'm all for it.

We live in an era where Sonic and Mario are partners rather than rivals. In an era where we finally get a proper Marvel Spiderman movie despite it being owned by Sony Pictures. An era where the Star Wars Sequels actually became true and won't be shilled by Lucas' crazy ideas.

Castlevania has a rich history with Nintendo and has many notable soundtracks that would sound great in Smash.

Alucard from Castlevania III or even Kid Dracula could be an Assist Trophy... and Dracula from Super Castlevania IV could be a stage boss (only because I don't want his final form from the NES games to be a stage boss since large stage bosses like Ridley and Yellow Devil tend to be annoying).
