I am glad to see the Character Discussion board open and lively again. It is soothing to see.

Yes it is a marvelous sight now lets talk some characters. I'd say Wolf is the most likely character next in line for DLC because well now we've got the codecs and Lylat Cruise. So much for Wolf plus he's the last antagonistic veteran left now that Mewtwo's on the way. Still suspicious as to why we didn't get Duck Hunt's trailer. Hmm

Intensely absurd speculative dreaming ahead, be told. In no particular order, what I would personally like to see:

Honestly, though, I will quite gladly take anybody. I'm not even a Mewtwo fan and I'm delighted that he's returned. Everybody's got their fans and I'm pleased that they're pleased. That there is DLC at all makes me more enthusiastically pleased than a kitten in a yarn store.

I have a theory regarding the Duck Hunt trailer tease.

I can't speak on behalf of all Ridley fans, and I came to the thread very, very late, but I'm a dedicated Spacer Pirate through and through and I can assure you that it was more than just making baseless assumptions and throwing Sakurai into the lion's den when we didn't get what we wanted. The impressive majority of us outright stated that we had come to terms with Ridley not being playable, but that we had come this far and were intent on seeing it through no matter what. I should like to think that most of behaved in a reasonably civil and earnest manner, even after the fact, and that we will continue to do so in the future.

I would also personally like to apologise for any inconvenience our fanbase may have caused others. I mean that with all due sincerity - I have grown very much accustomed to and accomodating towards the Ridley fanbase and I would prefer to think that, in the long run, we will be regarded as "just another fanbase" and not "the fanbase that has that cruel and importunate reputation". We all joked about straw-grasping, we all take ourselves with nary a semblance of seriousness, we all expected that this may happen and we are all willing and able to move on whilst still remaining optimistic about what is to come.

I'm just putting that out there to let others know that there's no hard feelings. I will also say that it's probably for the best to keep Ridley-related discussions to the Ridley-related areas. There doesn't need to be any arguing or pulling at each-other's hair over what has happened or what will yet happen. We're all entitled to believe what we want to believe and support whomever we so choose to support.

As I say, I can't speak on behalf of all Ridley fans, but the fans I know and love are as I have thusly described and I consider them to be my close friends and allies through thick and thin. Let's now leave the Ridley discussion to where it belongs and carry on with our own business as we see fit to.

7) Venusaur - Cause the moveset mostly already exists.

I was unaware that people in Minnesota were working on the game. I have read nowhere that no assist trophy can be promoted, and Little Mac makes me think they can be.

Bandana Dee has very easy moveset potential. Look at Kirby Fighters. Pick Spear. Play Return to Dreamland. Add in some attacks based on the other Kirby games where he's appeared like Super Star and (maybe?) Avalanche and Super Star and his own moves from Return to Dreamland. Really he has as much moveset potential as Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede.

As for Geno, I know it's unlikely. So's Nester. I was typing a wish list and really didn't need someone telling me not to want things for it, captain naysayer. I don't think my choices are lame, and I don't know why Geno being unlikely is a fortunate thing, I really liked Mario RPG. Granted, I'd actually be just as happy with Mallow from that game (or Mallo from Pushmo, I like new characters) but I loved the game as a child and enjoy Smash Brothers feeding my nostalgia. And if it didn't try to serve to feed my nostalgia we probably wouldn't have Pit or Duck Hunt or ROB or Game and Watch.

This might be why more kids liked Bumblebee than Cliffjumper despite being the exact same toy except for Cliffjumper being a red car. If you didn't take your name from Transformers, I apologize for the joke. And I also guess I'm sorry the list of characters I wanted offended you so you had to tell me not to want things.

Okay. Then Square may have lied to our forum guys, or Nintendo bought him (or someone else did?!?!) after the fact. Either way, they seem to be able to pay for the rights to use him. And as there's a Mario Basketball where you can play as Black Mage and Final Fantasy characters, the two companies might be willing to strike a deal to have square owned characters in a Nintendo First party software.

Now I have a really odd feeling, but what if the reason why more characters are unlocked in the Wii U version is because they have certain hidden characters that were originally not available in the 3DS version? I seriously think the Ice Climbers are going to be hidden in the Wii U version only, since they were probably already finished in the Wii U version. Why take them out in both versions, if they are already finished in one? I think Wolf will also have a shot at being hidden, and they will have DLC for IC and Wolf once the Wii U version comes out.

Nevermind, I just learned they were cut from both versions because the 3DS sucks. I would have taken Wii U version only if it meant the Wii U version would have Ice Climbers. Thanks so much Nintendo.

If this quote is true, then I lose respect for Sakurai. And the fact that it would be "unfair" to have them in only one version is even more stupid. It's more unfair to not have them at all!

No moveset potential? You realize that Bandana Dee has a spear right? That's yet to be a weapon as we either have bows or swords. Dee can make a UNIQUE moveset based on the spear alone

It is. Your username on Club Nintendo and your NNID should be linked. So if you downloaded the game, it's immediately registered if you have a corresponding club nintendo id. If not, you need to set that up.

Upon both being registered, you will be noted to receive Mewtwo and the soundtrack cd for free.

If it took to get us back to discussing DLC well I'll accept I was right that he would be a massive task for the team (as stated by his release date) and move on!

So, let's talk other possible DLC characters!

Veteran wise, as much as (as many of you know) I adore my Icies, were a massive strain on the 3DS version alone and DLC ain't gonna fix that. So I'll lament over them in my spare time.

is still replaced by , is replaced by (Ha ha, but seriously I doubt he's getting remade), and nobody is holding their breath for a cute but ultimately terrible character, .

and I have strong hopes for still. With trophies no longer barring the path, and... a surprising lack of Mother 3 in general, I really hold my hopes for Lucas's return and Wolf, no matter how little I care about him, is a character a lot of people want back and is probably up the ladder on priority.

is still deader than dead in my opinion. I just can't see a third party character being DLC. And most of his playstyle got delegated to or for his old players.

I don't see coming back... if for no other reason than "insignificance" as much as it pains me to say that as a big Pokemon fan.

TL;DR: I'd not expect more than &.

Newcomers.... it's a little more direct.
Rhythm Heaven Character (Marshal > Chorus Men), Bandana Dee, and/or a DK Character (K. Rool > Dixie).

Ridley has been dead since April and people need to accept this. Impa's popularity has pretty much been only due to Hyrule Warriors and the Trophy Theory which is dead alongside the Tower of Smash "leak." I still have trust in Gematsu and RH of all series getting a Smash Run enemy is still suspicious. Bandana Waddle Dee, despite being a newly predominant Kirby character, has no Trophy in the 3DS version which is REALLY odd to me... also we have no spear user in Smash still. And, yeah. DK needs King K. Rool to help make the series feel "complete' in the representation.

This is all IF we have newcomer DLC which may not happen in the first place.
