im my opinion it is every pokemon generation since the iris black&white generation it gets stupider and stupider like I said good things and nothing never last FYI my favorite generation is the may ruby/sapphire generation

Pokemon isn't doomed. It's Pokemon. However stupid it may be, I'll still buy it, and I'll still have fun while playing it.

There's no better opportunity to reveal him than this month, too. Last month before release and the whole roster leaking like a rusty pipe, matching the series anniversary and icing the cake by showing the most requested character ever.

I'll find it really dumb if they don't reveal him this month.

I think Ridley is going to be the final newcomer revealed, along with Snake as the final veteran. When that may be, I'm not sure, but I somehow think that this Direct won't be the last newcomer.

I'd take Alph, Charlie, or Brittany over Dark Pit in a heart beat.
Newcomer clones are possible, but Sakurai's quote made it sound like Lucina was an exception. Now, veteran clones are a different story. We've seen Toon Link already. Falco or Wolf is a guarantee in my opinion. However, Wolf could be considered a pseudo-clone. I doubt Ganondorf will be "revamped" sadly and I consider him a lock.

I know anime characters are not popular, because it takes a slot for an important Nintendo character away and Bandai has no influence to the characters, but maybe Sakurai thinks that this is the right moment to add a new type of character, just for fun?
Maybe Goku, Luffy or someone else?

Last I checked, Bandai Namco primarily makes games, not anime. Besides, namco already has representation in the game in the form of Pac-Man. And, I'm pretty sure not even Sakurai would add a character that didn't originate as a video game(ROB is peripheral for video games, so he's okay) The closest I could ever see possible is Digimon, but even then it's really stretching it. Anime characters will most likely never happen.

While it would be cool to see an anime character in Smash Bros., it would totally ruin what the game is all about. It's supposed to be a game where Nintendo characters fight each other, but some 3rd party game characters that have some history with Nintendo are added as a bonus. Adding a character that's not even originally from a video game in Smash completely crosses a huge border that should never be crossed. If they kept crossing boundaries, people would start asking for literally every fictional character in existence to be in Smash Bros. There are certain standards that need to be met and should be kept for every Smash game. Although I will say that Ryuko or Luffy in Smash Bros. would be pretty frickin cool nonetheless. And this would just make me laugh my a$$ off:

The only anime character that could get is Ash Ketchum and that is an extremely huge stretch

i think team rocket would be better i wish the pokemon roster for this time would be

A playable Celebi sounds nice. What about a "resized" Lugia? Have you noticed my 2nd generation bias yet? Here, let me assist you... I also want Delibird as a gag character. Togetic for a fourth and then everyone's most anticipated beast yet... Mewtwo to round it out. Visualize that lineup and let me know what you think. Isn't it splendid?

I think a villain trailer is the most realistic. A lot of important villain chars are missing.
A trailer could be revealed on the gamescom. There are only a few weeks away to the release in japan, so the hype must be raised.
I think Wario, Metaknight, Ganondorf and as a newcomer King K. Rool could be revealed.

One week before the release, would come the last trailer in a Nintendo Direct, which takes the hype to maximum.
This trailer should revealed Ness, Mewtwo, Bomberman and as last Ridley. I think lot of people would not handle this hype anymore :D

Here my new 52er roster. Right are 2 DLC Packs, one Newcomer Pack and an another one which ist called Veteran Pack.

I dont think that both could made it. Only Fire Emblem had become 2 new characters and now we dont have a lot of spots left

Kind of replying to two quotes here - why do you think both Dixie/K.Rool are unlikely? If we assume that the size roster you have taken is possible, then it's arguable that both characters have more chance than any of the other unrevealed newcomers you've chosen to add.

On your actual roster I am torn - I dislike the majority of your newcomer choices but it has plenty of characters I like and I would not be disappointed if this transpired.

He would blow up these boards but do you honestly think he would be the most hype-worthy character both worldwide and counting the vast casual audience Smash Bros has, the overwhelming majority of which are not represented on this site? I don't think he'd be Sakurai's first choice personally. The anniversary is interesting though and I have no qualms if it does happen.

TEAM ROCKET was in Pokemon Red and Green before the anime.

Anime characters have absolutely no place in a series that goes out of its way to celebrate VIDEO GAME HISTORY.
Just because the fans sometimes over lap does not mean the genres have anything to do with each other, because they are completely separate entities.

Without a story mode to emphasis on who'd be bad guys to fight excluding Event Matches, If smash 4 didn't add any bonuses to the new classic mode, I actually don't see the importance of villains. As characters they'd be great, but without Event Matches & a story to show how big & bad they can be, what's the point?

Oh definitely, we know the villains are key. "Good can never exist without Evil", even if we know who the antagonist characters are & where they originate from, are they truly evil in the game just because you re-enact fights with Ganondorf vs. Link & Zelda? Or Mario vs. Bowser? That's the beauty of Super Smash Brothers, crossing-over Nintendo & 3rd party characters to battle it out, but that's my question.

I'm pretty sure Team Rocket would not open the doors to TV/Anime/Manga/Comic/Movie character. They are still Nintendo character in the first place.

If anything, they'd represent Nintendo TV shows, which by the way have been several few:

Mario (Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World)
Zelda
Donkey Kong (Classic)
Donkey Kong Country
Captain N
Kid Icarus (Not sure if those Kid Icarus episodes count)
F-Zero
Kirby
Pokemon
Fire Emlem (OVA)


If you ask me, Captain N should be included to represent the successfulness of Nintendo TV series. :D (even if his own show wasn't all that hot)

I thought you might be turned off by the inclusion of so many monsters from the same generation. Glad to hear you feel the opposite. It's really not so crazy when you think about it. In Brawl, we had a total of 5 generation 1 Pokemon. ^_^
