Well Andy, whom you see in my profile pic, is a mechanic. I'd imagine his basic attacks would involve him swinging wrenches around while his specials might have him constructing units from the series to help him out. I suppose it would be a bit like if the Engineer from TF2 was a smash character, maybe.

Meanwhile, Sami is an infantry specialist. Lots of her official art depict her carrying a bazooka, so I imagine she'd go the Snake route with her normals in that she'd use a few explosives mixed with melee attacks. Special-wise, the infantry class in AW specializes in capturing property, which generate money along with providing defensive benefits and restoring hp every turn. Maybe Sami would have a move where she plants a flag that would generate a field that improves her stats while she stands near it?

Just a few ideas I kick around from time to time.

This is the summoner I've always wanted. A mediocre fighter in his own right, but careful use of summons (the AW units) and he becomes a force. I've always loved Andy, after Issac he's probably my most wanted realistic newcomer. (Since I can't have Kapt KRool, the King Krool falls to third )

EDIT: I think my favorite part of the above roster is the lack of Ridley still. Serious doe

Is it just me, or could this be hinting at the Ice Climbers?

Now that you mention it. It's possible. Plus, they are at the top of the stage and their are retro looking enemies. They could get shown on Friday. I feel a vet on Friday, and a direct with the last two starter Newcomers and Mewtwo in mid-August.

This is by far the most reasonable one I've seen, and this is almost my prediction. The only one I would add is Mewtwo.

Also, I will admit that Isaac is my one wish-list character - I don't think he'll be in, but I would love it.

I think it was the fact that Palutena was just a close-up of her knockers that sold it for me.

How likely/unlikely is it we'll get character DLC down the line?

Do you guys think Robin's appearance killed the Gematsu leak and thus the hopes for DLC fighters as well, or do you think it's a possibility still?

No I just thought it was particularly funny, especially given her how sexualized she was in her reveal trailer.

Another few other things I noticed now. First of all, just got Tiki. Didn't click the first time through but that was also hilarious.

DLC is something I'm uncertain about. Sakurai has stated that he wasn't thinking about DLC until after the games' releases, so it seems a very likely possibility, eventually. It's also (probably) less time-consuming adding only 1 newcomer at a time, rather than trying to balance several around each other at the same time.

As for Robin and Gematsu... I've stopped thinking about Gematsu to be honest. At this point it's a waiting game. But I don't think that directly contradicts DLC.

Yeah I think Robin killed Gematsu. But, I still think DLC is a possibility. Since it seems to me they'd like to make this game at least somewhat competitive, I could see them adding patches. Why not add patches with new characters also? I'd prefer if they were free though, since Fire Emblem's was disappointing.

This is my dream roster. It's already not possible, because there are already some characters confirmed or deconfirmed, but I don't care, it's still a dream roster not a prediction or anything.

There are lots of cuts, I did them to remove clones and redundant characters. I wanted to cover as many franchises as possible, inroducing characters who represent not just the franchise, but also the different branches of them (wario -> Syrup-Warioland -> Ashley-WarioWare). I replacced Ganondorf with Black Shadow (they would share some moves) and I put Ganon instead, who is more iconic and classic. Only 1 Link, because Zelda and Toon Zelda aren't really 2 different franchises, and Zelda changes style every game so it's not worth having two Links in my opinion. Pokèmon Trainer would fight on the stage with his pokèmon similar to the Ice Climbers or Rosalina & Luma. etc.

This is the final roster, with all the cuts and all, but I started from a bigger version of it with lots more characters (here in the spoiler).

Yes, they do know it's not going to happen. That's why it's a dream roster. You don't have to agree with it, it's not trying to predict anything.

I think DlC is a given with amiibos and Sakurai has to do it. Amiibo is a big Nintendo project and I'm sure they said that Sakurai has to make it fit.

We know capt. Toad will have an amiibo. He is the perfect example to show that amiibo "cross different games to unlock secrets, characters, and more!" Ex. Capt toad amiibo will unlock more ct stages. But brought over to smash will unlock his character.

It was intentional... because I think that with Lucina, Marth became kinda... I think Lucina deserves to be in the roster, but they're so similar, so I removed one of them, the older one (like happend with Roy and Ike).

Falco, I wanted to replace him with someone slow like Peppy or Slippy just to have some difference in gameplay.
Anyway, just keep in mind that I did this in 5/10 mins, it's not perfect.

I removed Rosalina at the end... I don't know why, but I think that she's not so fitting in the roster... I think she's a side character like Daisy... she (Daisy) was relevant in Marioland 1, then all of her appearances were just fanservice and minigames, and this is also applied to Rosalina I think.

Anyway, I did all of these cut because I wanted to not reach 100+ characters.

Fan rosters are ridicolous maybe, but I have fun reading and doing them.

It's entirely possible that the leak was outdated, or that there are different groups working on different characters, and this particular leaker didn't know about it.

That leads to more questions, but the fact of the matter is, the leak might be outdated, and can't be taken completely seriously. But I would still count on Shulk and a Rhythm Heaven character.

No one is counting out the first half of the leak. This is the thing that people keep failing to realize. The first half was legit! Its the SECOND half that has absolutely nothing going for it. Palutena? Everyone expected her, and she was already leaked anyway (the fact that the leak later turned out to be a good fake meant nothing, it was months before it was determined to be fake). Pokemon from X/Y? Not a valid argument, anyone could guess that. Chrom? Never on the final roster. You don't just make a "mistake" like that, and if its outdated, how the hell is it outdated before the roster was even finalized?

Misinformation? The rest of the leak is completely invalid and cannot be relied on for speculation.


Chorus Men and Shulk are still possible, but the chances of Chorus Men are slim-to-none as there's plenty of other more notable Rhythm Heaven characters who'd be far more likely to be playable. And since any moveset with these characters would have to be developed from scratch anyway, it doesn't particularly matter which character is made playable.

I feel like if Sakurai gets the rights to a character from an unrepresented series, that character wouldn't be scrapped for another, and even of they did, the series would 100% get some sort of playable representative to make up for it.

Shulk is the clear cut Xenoblade representative. Xenoblade is chock full of potential content, and Shulk is currently the most likely newcomer in my eyes,

Chorus Kids... Well, there's no reason to scrap them. There's a very easy solution for the trio: make them one model that looks like three. They won't be separating or anything, so they're a lot different than Ice Climbers. And with a series like Rhythm Heaven, Sakurai would have to be very creative with who he decides to represent the series with. If he thought about Chorus Kids as the best representative, I'm sure he had a clear idea in mind and decided that this is how Rhythm Heaven should be shown off in Smash.

Oh, in addition, even legit leaks usually have some incorrect parts. Like Chrom, Shulk's reveal, and probably Lucas's cut.

The beauty of Smash bros comes from the collide of different universes. Animeish, cartoony, realistic, flat, Wario, just enjoy that such a celebration exists and pick a character you like playing as, regardless of artstyles.
