Trela seems to be in top 32 now according to the bracket (took out Zan to get that place).

WFT stalling in the air with down b and side b is what makes her ledge play especially good. You can't really stand over ledge with shield up either because her header will eat shields up and set up for a poke with volleyball or through-the-stage aerial.

EDIT: This is why I think MK is an all-rounder more than anything else, up air to up b conversions too inconsistent to get you far in big tourneys.

No, but she is probably the only character that has a projectile that heals her and has a projectile that doubles as a pretty nasty mixup tool at the edge that you have to be wary of (Header + volleyball; that damn volleyball is deadlier than a ****ing Gordo and it has similar properties). Throw in floatiness and okay recovery, and you have a decent recipe for her offstage game.

What is it about Wii Fit that makes people edge play with her so much? It's not like she's the only floaty character with good projectiles.

Wii Fit has a plethora of options when it comes to the ledge which always keeps the opponent guessing. She/he has amazing stalling and bait options with deep breathing, header, and even her hoops. Not only that, but a second ledge grab performed by a Wii Fit is a lot tougher to punish than your average character because it can be covered by up air, header, and more. She/he has a great recovery, although the hoops are abuse-able, along with a wall jump.

To top all of this off, she/he has the constant option of healing health which makes the opponent anxious and often forces them to approach, even though the amount of health gained is small.

So it looks like we have 2-3 Clouds (secondaries) in Top 32. Hooray!

Rain used Cloud in pools and perhaps bracket (dunno about that), I just know he used Cloud vs. Ven but that's all I saw. Komorikiri I'm not so sure about, I never saw his pools or bracket matches but I know he has a Cloud secondary so.....

All things considered that's pretty good for ye olde one month character!

So I'm not sure if Cloud is top 10/top 15/whatever in singles, but I think a strong argument could be made for Cloud being top tier (maybe even #1?) in doubles. His recovery is harder to exploit with all the madness, his mobility lets him really convert off any flying opponents with his ridiculous upair, his bad throws matter less, and oh yeah, finishing touch. He's like a little mac that gets a ko punch every ten seconds that you can use in mid air.

Cloud in Doubles is pretty stupid yeah. His D-Throw is also a pretty solid angle for Cloud #2 (if you're doing Double Cloud) to score early Finishing Touch kills in the air, it happens to be really dumb.

Pretty diverse I would say. Especially with DK and Wii Fit.

I don't know the MK/Sheik matchup though. Maybe Ito will have a hard time against Void?

It seems like Cloud's general ease of use could replace the old Sheik/ZSS/etc and G&W that was patched out to any character's throw - > Finishing touch in doubles.
Though it doesnt work at 0%, so hopefully it would be less defining for doubles. I wonder what would have been seen if we had had a patch both without cloud and with the nerfed doubles projectile absorption.

Stupidly rewarding offstage game. Three spikes, a projectile that bounces off walls, are the only characters that can really challenge her offstage without risking a stock, one of the best wall jumps in the game, some of the best ledge get up options of the cast, a largely safe recovery that can easily edgeguard and stage spike, good ledge trump options, two air stalls, etc. Lot of people don't really think about it but her offstage game is on par with when it comes to options and getting back safely.

And breaking news, my will of playing Smash 4 was shattered at my most recent tournament (which just happened).
Well...this is actually goodbye from any competitive Smash scene for me.

Sad to hear it, but it's your call. I've been there before. Maybe try mulling things over after a day or so, but take a break for sure. Slumps are hard.
Also, are people liking this post because he's leaving? That's not cool.

Also Nairo losing to Hyuga makes me feel some kinda way. Great for Hyuga, though. Nairo has no excuse, he's bodied my INCREDIBLE Toon Link before Kappa.

Also @Radical Larry - It happens buddy, like Oats said slumps are hard, but I've found the best success was after a small break, trying again, pushing through, taking the advice of people who gave it and eventually attempting another tournament to see if you could do better than the first.

Another thing I should mention about Wii Fit offstage is her sun salutation. It charges fairly quickly and, unlike Lucario's aura sphere, Mewtwo's shadow ball, and Samus's charge shot, it doesn't push you back when you use it in the air. That means you can hit them point blank and not lose your positioning from it. This is also why it's a decent ledge get up option too because it does 18% fully charged and, with rage or deep breathing, it can reasonably kill at 120-140%, making for a good (and infuriating) surprise kill. Add to this that it heals you 2% if you shoot it fully charged and it doesn't have a lot of end lag, it can easily force approaches and be used to stall offstage.

I made an error when looking at the bracket and thought we'd see Earth vs. Komo. Looking at it again, I'm pretty sure that Trela would fall under the same losers bracket as Komo if Komo loses to ZeRo, so replace Trela with Earth. I think Komo will beat out Trela since Komo probably has experience with 9B.
