Chain Grab?

I've recently decided to pick up marth i brawl. I was playing a friendly match against a friend who was suing ike, and i seemed to be able to chaingrab him with marths fthrow. Now he's not an amazing player... Honestly i outrank him by alot. So can marth chain grab larger characters, or was ike simply not escaping it correctly?

Marth can only chain grab like two or three f throws from like zero damage, beyond that is bad DI

from 0% a couple fthrows generally work but if i land a grab from 0% I generally go with fthrow to fsmash...

I think you can usually get more percents that way.

They aren't chains. They're your opponent making incorrect decisions.

Just keep mixing it up and you can usually rack damage off the throw. SH f-air, dancing blade, or another grab are good follow ups.

yeah but even D3's is escapable with a sidestep. and its true, this semi-chain is useless. you should either ken combo(fthrow>SH>fair>far> land>sh>fair>jump+spike)=my version... or fsmash or ftilt.

im sorry to tell u but this is not melee were u chaingrabbed everyone to 100+ u can only chaingrab ness and lucas(well sort of..) by grabbing and hitting them until they escape and regrabing them
i dont use grabs as often as before but they are usefull sometimes for fthrow and fair spam or fthrow to fsmash but they can still be dodged

Unfortunately u can't rack up enough damage by doing this - there are a lot of other options which are more benefitting.

From what I've seen, trying to chain grab (or grab at all) with Marth is very hard now. Trying to dash grab is pointless too. Basically, Ike has taken that slot as chain grabber now.

To make a correction to the majority of these people, Marth CAN Chain Grab from 0%, and it is innescapable. However, it only works on a few select characters and it can only be done up to three times for about 13%, so FThrow to FSmash is likely a better option.
