Since CEO is currently active right now, I figured that making a Tournament thread dedicated to it would be a good idea :p

Let's all be hoping for some potential upsets here.

Uh, there's already a thread for this. A little surprised it's still empty with the upsets we've had.

So far, the only upsets I see is:
Jayy:ultmetaknight: losing to Enki:ultpikachu:
Jw:ultgreninja: losing to Primid:ultfox:
Wizzrobe:ultwolf: losing to Benny&TheJets:ultrob:

All three of these players move it out of pools through the loser's bracket.

7. Rosalina :ultrosalina:
Seems like Dabuz has fulfilled the dream of becoming Rosalina herself.

Ah, Primid is a Fox main, from what I've seen. We also had saj :ultdaisy: 2-1 Morpheus :ultmegaman:, and uncivil ninja :ultshulk: 2-1 cookieslayer :ultyounglink: , in which two non top 96 seeds snagged a win.

Honestly hoping Mr.R can at least make top 8 at this. The guy hasn't been doing too well for his standards recently, and Shoyo James has already outperformed him on many occasions.

Seems like Dabuz has fulfilled the dream of becoming Rosalina herself.
I'm keeping this.

-----------

And Seibrik :ultpalutena: 2-1 Lui$ :ultfox::ultdoc:, so Florida gets another good win. A lot of perfect reads from Seibrik, and multiple successful edgeguard attempts worked out in his favor the most.

Thanks Iridium / KirbySquad

A lot of poor casual street wear Inklings being mollied by some notable players in pools right now.
I'd say the one versing Shinji's Pacman (yui?) didn't have a clear gameplan for handling Pac - let the "everytime" Hydrants get to them. Needed to stop trying to force hits in advantage state rather than playing it out.

Looking back at the projected bracket, I can definitely see ProtoBanham getting the upset on WaDi later on, assuming neither gets upset beforehand. He already has good R.O.B. experience from Japan to know the MU. Only thing is he would most likely run into Leo if that were to happen, and it's clear he knows Lucina very well too.

Good chance he can at outperform his seed a little bit if everything goes right. Same goes for Dabuz, at least with Tweek no longer on his side of the bracket.

Aside from that, Eldin :ultolimar: beats Magister :ultincineroar: 2-1, and it's looking like the lower half of the top 64 seeds are falling fast.

To confirm what Iridium said, Dark Wizzy noted on his Twitter page that Primid plays :ultfox:.

The two will be squaring off against each other tomorrow.

What's the general thinking about Wishes vs. Noggin and Wishes, in my opinion, really dumb behavior in this set? Or is this a wrong place to talk about this?

What happened between them?
The set is on YT but Wishes pretty much didn't do anything when his opponent was at his last stock and way beyond kill percent. Only threw out some small hitboxes when he could've easily finished it. Playing with your food, basically and the finisher with Ivy's nAir(!) seems more accidental as he didn't expect that to kill.
Don't know if they had beef beforehand but that was pretty disgusting, I've to say.

Match in spoiler box:

Apparently, Bear of all people brought Mr E to game 3 with Bowser. Okay then.

Kiwi :ultpacman: also 2-0s Magister :ultincineroar: to make top 96. She's starting a good losers run here.

Edit: And's she out to Benny. That was unfortunately fast.

Aaaaahhhhhh, I see what you mean now, Lacrimosa; it's annoying, but bad sportsmanship is inevitable in a game as big as Smash Ultimate.

Also, ZD :ultfox: 2-0s Captain Zack :ultbayonetta::ultdaisy:, sending him to Losers. It's gonna be fun seeing a Fox ditto between ZD and Light lol

EDIT: ven :ultzelda: 2-0s Frozen :ultpalutena: to get into Top 48 on the Loser's Side, eliminating Frozen at 49th place.

Jeez this tournament is stacked, huh, Ally :ultsnake: wins 2-0 over Raito :ultduckhunt: as early as Top 192 Winners.

It's likely a result of Raito being seeded rather low, I just hope he can make a great Losers run.

No rules sbout that so it's of no concern.
Of course not, but it's so..uncalled for :/. Just thought it might be worth mentioning since I've never seen it taken to that extreme.

Anyway, happy to see Ven making Top 48. Looking good there.

Daaaammmmnnnnn, uncivil ninja :ultshulk: 2-0s ANTi :ultmario::ultlucario:, eliminating him at 49th place while guaranteeing a spot for uncivil ninja at top 48; Shulk mains are starting to up their game quite a bit, it seems.

Sorry Rizen for being the bringer of bad news, but cookieslayer:ultyounglink: 1-2 Tremendo Dude:ultshulk: to eliminate him at 97th place, which as far as I can tell, eliminates all the YLink players from the event.

Zurak:ultfox: 2-0 saj.:ultdaisy: to eliminate him at 65th place.
DRN 2-0 Charliedaking:ultwolf: to eliminate him at 65th place.

A notable upset indeed. ANTi never fought a Shulk before (as indicated by a tweet by him), but Shulk mains are indeed stepping up their game.

Tremendo Dude's:ultshulk: run ends at 49th place courtesy of Goblin:ultroy:, so I unless I missed someone, Uncivil Ninja is the only Shulk player left.

Well unless Salem decides to break out his Shulk this tournament. But Shulks solo resutls seem irrelevant to all the pro players who put in in top-tier in tier lists.

The (probably) best Shulk player Nicko isn't in attendance for this. We should keep this in mind as well.

Puppeh (:ultpokemontrainerf: I assume?) put Nairo (probably :ultpalutena:) in losers.
Happened off-stream, so character verfication would be nice.

Oh dang, it looks like Nairo and Dark Wizzy will be fighting for 33rd place in Losers Top 48 if Nairo manages to climb his way through Losers Top 192.

Y’all, listen, that Protobanham vs VinnyG set was excellent. Vinny took the first game, Proto adapted and went for hilariously aggro edgeguards, and then Vinny counter adapted with a more defensive trap focus with C4 for game 3.

But, Proto has some of the best recovery against Snake’s edge and ledge traps that I have seen, and managed to adapt again and clutch out game 3.

I don’t generally get hype watching Lucina or Snake, but that set was something else, and it was just in top 192.

Nairo first has to get through Blank and RFang and then D. Wizzy.
These are three very big names.

Puppeh apparently beat Abadango 2-1 as well. Aba went Palutena and MK, but a lot of big upsets are happening off-stream.

Puppeh confirmed on twitter that he did use PT against Nairo.

Puppeh also used PT against Aba, and apparently JV3'ed his Palutena at game 1.

I'm aware, but yeah, Puppeh's on a silent run.

Kobe's still in, and is guaranteed 49th at the very least. The last YL left.

...and ProtoBanham beats WaDi. Saw this one coming, and now he gets to face off against Leo.

WaDi, without fail, always runs into some Japanese-character-specialist-god.
