thats why you distance yourself emotionally. watching your emotions get torn up out the frame by people is starting to make me sick. and i'm losing sleep over it cuz i can't stop watching. ugh.

my emotions don't get torn. The only person who has ever made me really mad was Cam and that's because he posted a lot of ignorant bs. Anyone else I just laugh at. But at the same time, I hate that our community has to deal with such flagrant meanness that tears the community apart. People who find amusement in causing drama and trouble and mean words to be passed around need to leave. Like I said, what he said didn't really make me mad. What made me mad was that people like him (including him) come on here for the sole purpose of picking fights.....over stupid stuff. And then for some reason, they make the other person look bad. It is childness that makes me mad.

cam will continue his style until you mature and realize he speaks either the truth, or such an overexaggerated form of the truth that it is sarcastic and contains a deeper analytical tone of the given situation.

either way, you'll either get smarter by reading and understanding his posts, or you'll continue to assume he's dumb and ignorant, in which case he'll just laugh his *** off.

it took me a while to get used to too. if you're smart though, you'll get the hang of it. if you're not, then you probably shouldn't main zelda in brawl.

what could possibly be the deeper meaning in that load of bs? I'm a philosophy major, a classical studies major, and an eng/psych minor. I have to analyze readings every day for 'deeper meaning' and read overly complex language to get to what the person/philosopher is tryign to say. I think my analytical skills and my intellectual capabilities are prone for analyzing speech. Cam is not on par with any philosopher or author I have ever read. He writes complete garbage that shows his minimal understanding of the world. He has never met me (or so he says) and he feels like he can call me gay and run me down for it. A good portion of my friends are gay and I don't take kindly to ignorant bs like this. What if I was gay? How in the hell could what he have said been justified. Gay people every day commit suicide because of people like Cam saying mean-spirited things like this.

so I never got any responses. I would like more brawl tourney's to happen. If I were to hold Duke biweeklies would anyone show up. I'm looking for around 20 entrants for it to be worth my time. I would like to do singles, doubles, and low-tier/thematic ones. Like I can purchase 6 setups which would mean that 2 could be devoted to friendlies and still have enough for the tourney. Like I really want some more tourney experience and it seems nc only gets a sampling of tourneys (like 1 every month or 2). So, would there be any interests. BTW Duke is in Durham, maybe 15-25 mins from NC State.

Honestly for my situation no, I don't plan on going to any tournament <20/biweeklies unless I'm scheduled off that day (doesn't happen) and have nothing else to do. But I would take off for a tournament that's around 35-40 min entrants.

EDIT: Other than my days scheduled off I only request probably 1-2 days a month off, October= Trip to UNCC
November=Wedding
December= Idk yet

Well I don't have much tournament operating experience. I used to host melee and YGO tourneys at my house/school for like around 20 people. I wouldn't want a huge turnout that would overwhelm me. And for 35-40 entrants I would have to speak with someone here at Duke and see if I couldn't borrow like a classroom or something. With around 20 entrants, all I would need would be a common room. Maybe after a few biweeklies I could possibly see about a bigger tourney but definitely not yet. That's more for Maria anyway. Although, if that prick starts yelling at people again I might go ahead an host a big one just so I wouldn't have to see him again and still get the big tourney experience.
