Having missed Lyon im set my sights on making this. Me and joe are in the car already. I know robby, mike and craig have shown interest. Petrol+Ferry return will be around £30 return. We will be getting a late late nigth crossing thursday night arriving to venue city for early early fri morning. Planning on getting midnight crossing back sunday night to have people home early doors on monday. Ferries chosen for cheapness not convenience.

Robby, mike and craig if you are wanting to go i need you guys to confirm pretty promptly.

If anyone else is interested please post. I wouldnt be surprised if people flake.

i wanna ****ing go :p but atm I feel too much guilt

I think I've decided to stay in London and run my monthly because it's bad enough to avoid my own event, and I can wait till the next european melee event which will be a lot more hype. Also going on holiday again after 2 weeks is pretty hectic and costy! Hope you find someone else to take the seat Kone.

IMPORTANT POST/ UPDATE.
NEEDS TO BE URGENTLY READ BY ROBBY, MIKE and CHARLES IN THE MOST URGENTLY UPMOST AND PROMPT FASHION ^_^.

Firstly were sorted, were going, so give a sigh of relief and chill out for a second. now we have the preparartion phase. here is our current plan of action.

Ed-> leaves home around 4pm

Joe-> meets Ed in leeds at 6pm

then we take the M1 as far as london, jump on the ringroad and head for Dover then we get the ferry at middnight.

OH NOES AH FORGOTS YOU GUYS =P... well its because it needs sorting asap!

when you read this have google maps open over england so you can get a feel of the layout of the motorways.

Robby and Mike get yourselves on a coach thats heading for London for cheap. then get off somewhere thats helpful and easy for Ed, which is somewhere close to the West side of the london ringroad. Like Reading or Slough. and Charles you tube it to them or something =x.

We need to pick you guys up (depending on how far out of the way it is) between 9-10pm perhaps a little bit later so were in good time for the ferry but not waiting around for ages, mainly for Ed because he needs to stay awake as long as possible.

Eds quite unwell atm but as soon as hes better then he'll have net access 12-5 at his job.

give me your thoughts as soon as you can guys, lets get it sorted by this friday latest so we can all just look forward to HOLLAND AND A EURO TOURNEY!!!

lastly, are all 3 of you sorted for money, dates and passports. just to be sure =P

mikey doesn't use msn joe. I won't be on because I'm doing something today, where do you want us to go? If you are looking up tickets and can find us some from torquay to wherever you want then we'll get on them esp if they are around £5. cheers we'll book soon.

Ok guys;

Ive not been online as I dont have net access at home and wont till the end of august. However, I do when im at work which is 9-5 mon-fri. That is plenty of time if anyone needs to sort things out or talk to me urgently. My temp job is tedious as hell and i have loads of time to check swf. So just post here or pm me, ill refresh ofte. Dont leave it till the evening expecting me to be on msn or during the day. I wont be and cant get on msn.

Please give me your mobiles number or landlines if you have them. PM me them please. It would be so much easier if I can ring you guys.

In regards to the current plan joe has summed it up. Ferry and petrol is £30 return each. Im expecting not to pay more that £50 personally for this tournament incuding tourney entry. Im taken bread and sandwich filler with me, crisps and soup as well as a crate of beer. This means i wont spend silly amounts on takeaway food or food i dont need and am buying just cos im hungry which always happens when you go to tournies. As im driving and therefore have a car then you guys can also do this. So, if youa re smart you can buy food you need for two nights for less than a tenner and stick it in my boot. This means you could easily do this on abudget of £50.

In regards to where being picked up joe got it right. Look at funfares with nationalexpress to london and get of at a m25 stop (check a map of the uk and compare). If you guys could get to heathrow that would be rpetty **** good i believe. I think that takes me less out of the way than going to reading and would ultimately be much cheaper for yourselves. Ill look at nationalexpress later from torquay and see what i can do for yourselves.

Im happy to book the ferry right now but i wont until i get confirmation that everyone has booked to get to their pick up point. Also, i need everyones full names to book. I really want this booked asap. I will, at msot, wait till this friday to book. If there are only four people going then we can still go but it will cost everyone an additional £7 and if people are happy with that then we will book for the four of us. If anyone does want the last seat this must let me know by friday. If people are arsing around and dont book and definetly confirm their seats by friday ill just right the whole trip of. I need time to sort out other committments around this and leaving it for less than a week before going isnt good enough for me.

Saying all that this will be pretty ace and im well cool bout it. If people can bring anything that may entertain one another in the car please do. My car has a cd player but no ipod attachment. If you got cds bring htem. I have none lol as i lost them in my old house move. Lastly, if you cant be arsed to take a sleeping bag or pillows with you on buses to pick up point let me know if you want me to bring you either or both. I got pletny in my house and it wont take uip much boot space.

If anyones got any questions fire away.

In terms of charles i have pm'd you back. Obviously in the time since you pm'd and posted that you werent coming i have replied. I havent had net access till today. Please read what i said and see whether it makes you reconsider coming. In the end of the day youve got plenty of people willing to run your monthly, got svd coming up, other monthlies coming and not the prospect of playing european competition again anytime soon. Why wouldnt you come for so cheap?

let me know charles (by pm if needed)

ed :)

rightho, tickets from torquay to exeter are cheapest by train but are £5.40 each @_@ just checked online though and they do a tenner return. do you guys have railcards?

secondly the prices from national express for Exeter-LONDON are gpnna go up soon so please book today if you can, tomorrow at the latest.

the one you guys want is this:-

departs Exeter 17:55
arrives LONDON 22.20

but you guys are getting off at Heathrow airport, it arrives there around 21.40, so me and Ed will be waiting for you =)

as for return there is a coach at 7.45 (arrives at heathrow 8.40) for £5
and another at 10.30 (arrives heathrow at 11.25) for £7

be quixk though these funfares are dropping like flies lol.

Ed: what time you reckong we'll be passing heathrow on the way back?

hey joe thanks for doing this, i cant get on to much atm as i got backlog at work from being of last week. are ferry is like at midnigth sunday getting into the uk 1am british time. So, add on two hours at most and theyll be around heathrow area. Your thinking around 3am lol. So they need as early as bus as possible really.

I wish robby had a mobile. We need mikes so we can ring and get them to book unless robby gets on soon.

The bus on the way there getting in at 9ish is really really good and i urge robby and mike to buy that now.

Craig posted in the actual tournament thread two days ago that he was still up for this. If you can talk to him online joe and sort out him coming id really appreciate that. If not ill ring him tonight. Just say that we'll pick him up in reading (from the train station as its easy to get to and signposted). If he needs to know a time put in google maps our journey from seahm->leeds->reading->heathrow->dover. Work out if we are heading to heathrow for 9.40 (or w/e time you mentioned) what time we would be getting him from reading based on route times.

Cheers dude. Post when you knwo info ^_^. I aitn feeling reat so may haead of by one.

ALSO JUST A THOUGHT:

Mike drives? what sort of price range is it for him to drive to reading (craig lives there, car should be safe and free to park) im just thinking if robby and mike split the fuel its POSSIBLY there cheapest option. the other option seems minimum £20 each based on- tenner return torquay-exeter, tenner return exeter-heathrow.

so if fuels less then £40 driving may be best. what are you thoughts on this?

Ed: Craig asked if you could call him yesterday, not sure if you got my text. anyways try him tonight around 7pm.

ok heres the times.

seaham->leeds ==== 1 hour 50 mins (3pm-5pm)

leeds->reading ==== 3 hours 45 mins (5pm-9pm)

reading->heathrow = 40 mins (9pm-10pm)

heathrow->Dover == 1 hour 50 mins (10pm-12am)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Alternatively
(if Mike and Robby drive to Reading)

seaham->leeds ==== 1 hour 50 mins

leeds->reading ==== 3 hours 45 mins

reading->Dover ==== 2 hours 10 mins

02:55 05:25 Pride of Kent £25.00

Just so that people know the above are our ferry time options on the way out thursday night/friday morning. Imt hinking the 1am one will suffice and work in with the heathrow pickup!

03:20 03:50 Pride of Calais £25.00

Ok it looks like we need to take the above ferry really early monday morning. So theyll be needing a bus from heathrow around 6ish. The ferry options i wanted (midnight, 1am or 2am) have all gone upto £70. The only £25 return is this time. Im abit tetchy that this may go up (by looking at other tickets this is likely) i think there is no more of an urgency than ever to get this sorted today so that we dont end up not going.

Looking at what you posted joe that works out pretty well driving times. Itll cost £40 return drive for robby and mike. However, depends on whether mike owns his own car?

Ill ring craig tonight. If they go to reading i guess thatll be much easier. If mike can drive and has a car it would probably work out as costly for them aswell as much less stressful and easier pickup wise.

Posting again - robby and mike can get on a funfare return from torquay to london for £17 return (looks like it goes through exeter joe ;)). Only thing is for cheap value they would need to get into heathrow for 5.17. If that was there only option then i guess we would just have to prepared to spend quite abit of time around dover, but if we have to we have to. On way back there coach is at 8am from heathrow. Thats not a massive wait for them so is do-able imo.

Obv car is the best bet atm if they can for easyness but £17 return is not bad and very doable if needed. Just got to work plans around it and get there earlier than expected.

Im still going to check other options ^_^

edit - looked at the exeter bus times, they are def much better for getting in later like joe said. id rather you guys did that and got to exeter by whatever means for fluidity of the trip. Esp since itll be £20 like joe which isnt much more than what i jsut said ;)

CRAIG - ILL ring you tonight as i never got joes text yday. If you read this and you get phone calls from a 0191 number thats me trying on my landline. Aint got mob credit!

WE NEED THIS BOOKED ASAP

The return trip on the ferry has gone up by £10. Although this only equates to an extra £2 each it is a sign that there are becoming an increasingly lack of tickets and that the price will still go up more.

So, we need this booked really soon. Robby and Craig if you read this can we please sort this out today? if possible. I need to know craigs name and here from him he can do the dates. I need robby and mike to let me know that theyve booked to heathrow or have some means of getting picked up by me.

I attempted to ring craig like 5 times last night and never got an answer.

Joe can you please attempt to contact people via msn and hound them today lol :) or if possible ring craig for me. I think if we start leaving this any later it just aint going to happen :/.

I also only have net till 5pm so i cant really book tickets after that which means they only get booked 2moro which by then, like today, prices may have gone up.

Im happy to book ferry tickets if people just confirm today they are going. I know robyy and mike have I jsut need cr4aigs name really but also want robby to respond to what me and joe said yday and that getting to heathrow or reading is doable.

Cheers

Cheers robby. I know im bugging ya ;) but you got to remember im using my own £50 quid to book the ferry that I really can't afford right now and really don't want to lose the money if people end up not going next weekend. Thats all :). As soon as i hear from craig ill book :)

Also robby if you get any bus from torquay/exeter to london via funfare they go through london heathrow. Get off there and we'll meet you there. Seems the safest bet right now :)

Edit - I jsut realised that craig is likely to come and from what robby and mike have posted im happy to book ferry now. I just need craigs full name, any ideas people? or can someone find out on msn for me? also joe I need your middle name or what not? Joseph ........Green?

lol awesome joe man ^_^ well pleased for you. you reckon that my sheiks in pretty good knick then if you did so well versus everyone else and i was doing pretty decent by end of weekend just gone? i played conner yday night and my edge guarding is ALOT slicker now ^_^ ps that lads going to be dynamite at smash =x O_o

European health insurance card is free to any uk resident/citizen. What it means is that if you dont take out any travel or health insurance for the trip (which i guess most wont as its only like 2 days abroad) then if anything were to happen and you took the card with you then it shows hospitals/doctors abroad that the nhs is sponsoring/paying for any basic treatment you would need i.e. as most european countries dont have free medical care like here. Its free and lasts like 10 years or something so just order it free online today. Only needs your name, address and national insurance number and will give you some relief if anything should happen *fingers crossed*.

I found out what the rattle was today in my car and it isnt ddangerous which was a relief. Also bought new tyres and a gb sticker, high ves jacket and headlight altering stickets which are all compulsory for the trip lol.

Got all the relevant document **** i need aswell. So except sorting out picking up robby and mike we are fine.

Joe could you let craig know what time we will get him in reading based of what you psoted earlier in this thread. Cheers man. Tell him ill get himf rom reading train station as its signposted, easy to find and wont waste us time driving round reading.

my posted times was thus:

seaham->leeds ==== 1 hour 50 mins (3pm-5pm)

leeds->reading ==== 3 hours 45 mins (5pm-9pm)

reading->heathrow = 40 mins (9pm-10pm)

heathrow->Dover == 1 hour 50 mins (10pm-12am)

So we should be in Reading for 9pm, also is our goal still to get to Dover for midnight, which gives us an extra 30 mins (last departure time is 00:35), ive added on a few mins here and there in the above times for leeway so we should be in good health time wise =).

craigs all set, got his address for you dude

also dude but in the directions from leeds station to craigs house and it gives us a slightly different route thats 3hrs 32 mins to craigs house. which looks like this

in case you cant make it out, its the M1 down to leicster, then the M69 (zing) then a few A** roads past coventry to the M40 all the way down to junction 6 then some B** roads to his house. Ed its up to you what route we take obv, just thought id give you all the info available =)

EDIT: Chloe has mentioned that the M25 ringroad can be horrendous for traffic, shouldnt be so bad at the time were travelling, but its all just inof lol
