Im not sure if this already has been discovered. But the captain actually has a really strong true combo. The grabrelease combo. Just grab and pummel. When the enemy gets away, just regrab. This seems to work on any character. Also vs Bowser, you can do even more damage by grabbing, pummeling, then do one simple a jab. and repeat. If you this vs bowser over the whole fd, ended by a forward throw. Thats about 70-80% damage right there. vs any other character its about 60% damage. And the funny thing is that this seems to work vs every character, and you can even start this chaingrab even if your opponent has taken over 100% damage. But keep in mind you have to pummel all the time. You cant do a few pummels then wait out the regrab. Because that wont work. You have to keep pummeling untill your opponent comes loose. Where you repeat the cycle.

People have yet to discover something useful, and a 0-Death is pretty useful in my books :p
Just, a CPU only? .-.
Humans of the matter still escape?
No way...

Would've been great for the C-falcon boards.

Haven't tried this out myself since people above mention it doesn't work, but is it atleast possible to string an attack too it after ?

a ground release (forced by pummel) doesn't combo into anything AFAIK.

Sometimes I can get a D-tilt off of it because people just don't expect it の_の

Ground release gives you a 1 frame advantage.
So except Squirtle and ZSS (and Bowser obv) no one has a true combo out of ground release.

But it's a good frame trap.

you can ground release bowser

DK only has 20 frames of lag when he gets grab released, all other chars except ness/lucas have 30

his dsmash is 8 frames and has huge range

I normally shield after i GR DK.
Drop it after they DSmash, and regrab or something.
Unless they choose to grab you >_>

Well you can't buffer when you get grab released, so DK has a 3 frame window for his Dsmash to be unshieldable.
Shielding can be a good option, not grab releasing DK is better tho.
