Well, my thought at first would be why they would have a countdown just for a new game series. I mean, you would think there would be a countdown for something....well, bigger. Besides, that site's guess is as good as ours and we won't know anything until the countdown ends. I still hope for Mega Man (classic) to be in Brawl, but this message can be anything. *Shrugs*

The Dark Void trademark doesn't mean anything against Megaman's chances, there are "multiple bombshells" being revealed this week by Capcom, Dark Void could just be one of them.

although both are very unrealistic

The thing I find funny now is that Nya has been saying that his/her "insider" doesn't know anything about Megaman being in or not and yet BlueWave's "insider" says that he will be in and will be shown before the end of November...

Huh. You get suspicious everyday...

Just some fun evidence! :p

Please, just ignore them. This thread should be about speculation, not about whether two people with "inside" info lied or not, it's pointless anyway.

The only thing that urges me to think this message is smash related is because, "what could be more of a bombshell than something relating to brawl?".

I mean, if they're going through all this hype for the next Megaman game, or high-end solo game (such as Shadow of Rome or Okami. Both of which are solo games and seriously good) they really don't need this much secrecy and hype.

Also I don't care who they put in SSBB ...just as long as they're not stupid like the Sora idea..-shivers-

Way to take that post far too seriously.
Are you talking to me because I believe that that person was seriously saying that he thought the Bionic Commando announcement was the only announcement that Capcom was making. Even if he was joking, which I don't think he was, I can't let ideas such as that come in and ruin this thread.

CAPCOM WILL BE MAKING A LOT OF ANNOUNCEMENTS THIS WEEK. THEY DON'T RULE OUT MEGAMAN BEING ANNOUNCED.

You know, I'm really gathering mixed feelings about MegaMan in Brawl.

Probably since Melee, I've wanted to see him in Smash. Especially seeing how Sakurai has handled characters like Kirby and Mr. Game & Watch, by gathering abilities from a vast amount of games and implimenting them in everything from special moves, to throws, to taunts, and regular A button moves. After seeing Sonic in all his retro goodness, Sakurai completely won me over and I know that he could bring MegaMan into Brawl the way he should be.

That being said, I don't trust Capcom. Capcom is money hungry, especially with MegaMan. They use him as a cash-cow these days. How else do you explain games as awesome as Powered Up! and Maverick Hunter X showing up on a terrible machine like the PSP?

Though I do trust Sakurai, I do not trust Capcom. These two facts cancel each other out. In other words:

Capcom, when approached, probably tried to strong-arm the use of one of the two newer franchises - MegaMan ZX and MegaMan StarForce - to use as sheer publicity. Sakurai, I believe, would not allow this, and would probably cancel the deal.

... but, it's amazing to me to see how many people are rallying behind MegaMan since Sonic has been revealed. Clearly, being blue isn't the only thing they have in common.

Wasn't the version of Solid Snake being used in Brawl Sakurai's suggestion? If not, it was mutually agreed upon.
Fanewgie, you're right in a sense. Capcom would definitely suggest the newer version, but if Sakurai insisted on the older or standard (not a huge megaman fan, so dunno which term is more correct) skin, then I think Capcom would compromise and accept it.

I don't know Fanewgie, Capcom's use of Megaman is a bit weird. Megaman classic was the Megaman in Marvel vs. Capcom and Megaman Legends was the Megaman in Namco X Capcom. I don't think that Capcom really minds using different Megamans. Plus, Keiji Inafune should have some control over Megaman and he's a good developer, he doesn't care that much about money.

You do have a point. Most of the money-grubbing side of MegaMan shines through on the ridiculous amount of various system spin-off games (you know, like Wonderswan), and I think a lot of those are done by random no-name developers.

Maybe all of this is just me trying to avoid getting my hopes up. :)

While its nice to believe that this cryptic message means hes in the game, don't get your hopes to far into the sky. It literally could be anything.

Frankly, I'd rather them announce a new Street Fighter.

Mega Man B attacks
Neutral B: Buster Cannon: can rapid fire but will not flinch the enemy, hold B briefly to fire strong green burst laser, Hold B for a couple a second to fire a stronger larger purple burst laser

Down B: Soccer Ball: (Came from Marvel Vs. Capcom) you can either grab it or kick it

Forward B: Power steal: Mega Man can steal any enemy attack. IE if he steal link's, then MM buster cannon will shoot out boomerang (similar the boomerang in Mega Man X (Snes)); if he steals Mario's, he buster cannon will shoot fire waves (again similar to fire wave in Mega Man X (Snes)); [i want to list them all but we dont have a complete roster)

Up B: Thrusters: he feet will become thruster and you can fly around controling where he goes but once you stop, that it. Any enemies he impacts will inflict damage. (idea from some Mega Man X# that was for the PSX)

If Megaman gets in with his power absorption abilities, he'd be better than Sonic in terms of FUN~

I don't want them to announce him though. Make him just appear in the game and unlockable. Ie, after you finish a match, OMG Megaman appears!!!! etc.

You get bonus points for nailing the Mega Buster exactly right and for bringing in the Mega Ball (I originally thought the Mega Ball was a goofy idea, until I realized how much Sakurai loves making item-based attacks now). Even if the Mega Ball was originally from MegaMan 8. ;)

But ow, feet thrusters? MegaMan... just NEVER had feet thrusters. Ever. Even in games when he could fly, it was through Rush adapters, whether it was the jet or the shoulder-mounted boosters.

That, and, he would most definitely acquire his foe's power upon KO'ing them. It wouldn't be a Special Move.

Burrito's right, actually.. this is about speculation, not me being desperate for attention. :lick:

Besides, it's nice to have a strange new topic every now and then, even if it's a tad silly like this one.

And remember, I didn't say Megaman was in, I was just being creative and fitting letters to a bunch of question marks...

Still, what I came up with made me excited.. oh well.

Thanks for all your comments, though. :)

it could also mean that they are indeed putting MM in brawl, and sony fanboys will get all pissed about it.
Hahaha, I didn't even think of that... the wording made me assume "oh we'll see how they feel later when we give them some love", but it could very well have been a sarcastic remark like "oh you think they hate us now, but just you wait". Fun. :D

Anyway, I do hope he shows up but with one day to go I won't lose sleep over the translation.
