Man it's been forever since I've been in this thread. Lucas' confirmation gives me more hope for Wolf than before. IMO, Wolf is the most likely veteran left for DLC. Make it happen Smash Team!

No to both of those things, Dixie Kong is one of the most likely DLC candidates at this point and if doctor mario and dark pit can be separate characters, so can Impa. Plus she can be very unique with enough effort

This one reminds me of old westerns since his trench coat looks more like a duster and he looks less sci-fi compared to Fox and Falco. Yeesh, Falco's fingers are really long. By Spectrum-VII.

This one also gives him a rugged appearance. Sort of like a thug or something.

Kind of hard to see the colors, but this combines Assault Wolf's pauldrons with what looks like 64 Wolf's jacket and eyepatch. Pretty cool. By Layeyes.

I'd say it's simple: if you want Wolf, vote for Wolf. That's all that can be done to bring him back.

If people think of him as guaranteed because of Lucas, disappointment can follow. Lucas being confirmed doesn't mean that Wolf is.

This is a golden opportunity for the fans to get their most wanted characters. Don't waste it!

So we know veterans don't get CGI trailers so automatically they are easier than say an Inkling which will take a little longer so they can get the trailer ready.

After yesterday, things just look so favorably for Wolf.

1. More DLC coming: The fact there's going to be more DLC fighters beyond Mewtwo, especially with the fact that Lucas is coming back.

There's no questioning or saying there's no more DLC, it honestly makes no sense from a lot of perspectives.

2. Star Fox Wii U: Lack of Star Fox yesterday most likely means an E3 announcements and I guarantee Ninty will find amiibo support for it somehow and what better way to promote both than a "new" fighter?

Having a Wolf amiibo + DLC = $$$, and that's what Nintendo really wants lol. Coinciding it with Star Fox Wii U's release will bring in even more.

3. Most veteran competition confirmed: Primary DLC competition - when it comes to cut veterans - have already been confirmed. There was some Japanese poll back in the day on what fighters they'd like to see as DLC and Lucas took the first spot as Most Wanted Veteran with Wolf taking second.

Now that are no longer poll candidates, Wolf is most likely going to be the most requested veteran.

4. Easier to implement: Assets are already in Brawl so porting them to SSB4 should be no problem and the time between Lucas's development time and release should reflect that fact, especially when compared to Mewtwo. All that really needs to be done is porting, balancing, voice acting (if we're getting 64 3D's), updating assets (Lylat convos / textures, trophies, etc.).

Nothing has to be made from scratch so it makes things much easier for Sakurai.

5. Potential release in drought: As of now, there is nothing for Smash DLC between June and October (when voting ends). This kinda coincides with 2 and 4 as, if Wolf is announced in June and development takes two months or so, hel'll most likely be released in August so the game stays "fresh".

So yeah, if people want to take my list and improve on it, feel free to do so.

Fox and Falco fighting whoever on Orbital gate (Ness and Lucas?), they knock them out and taunt back to back. A blaster shot flies in from the side knocking Falco down behind fox and the camera pans to wolf with the tag "Wolf tears up the Fight!" before he and fox run at each other starting gameplay

I definitely think Wolf has a very good chance of returning, preferably in the time between the release of Lucas and the end of the poll. He's basically the only logical veteran left. It would be great with Star Fox Wii U coming out soon. Maybe at E3, a Star Fox trailer could then be followed by Wolf's trailer (or vice-versa).

We've gotta look at the few characters that are likely: first-party characters with large enough followings. I've voted for K. Rool and Wolf. I think those two are likely and I'd be happy with either. Wish people would understand the kind of mind-set that you need when voting.

As much as I like Lucas, Wolf is a bigger reveal, and I really don't think Mewtwo and Lucas are all they have been working on. I'm thinking Wolf will be revealed at E3 alongside more Star Fox U information. (I also think we will likely have a newcomer announced as DLC then as well.)

I have a hunch that wolf will be released in August, 2 months after E3 where he could be revealed. It'd be 2 months after Lucas' release and 4 after mewtwo. A new character every 2 months sounds about right before they start working on the characters from the poll.

The poll ends in October which is would be 2 months after wolf's release although I'm not sure who that could be, Maybe Dixie who was rumoured to have a moving model in the game, Chorus kids who we know were planned, Ice climber(s). Who knows

Can't stress this enough. Nintendo is throwing us a bone here and people need to realize that not every character they have in mind is necessarily reallistic. 1st party characters should take priority over 3rd party and as much as I would like Rayman or Simon the best thing would be to request a high caliber nintendo character first.

Well, that'll certainly help give Wolf an edge. I still hope we all vote for Wolf, because his biggest competition is probably Dixie Kong, and I'll be furious if she gets in before he does. I'm going to vote for Wolf as many times as I can, haha. I'd like to see Dixie get in at some point though (Although, I do prefer King K. Rool) as well as some others. I also hope Mewtwo and Wolf are equipped to kick Diddy Kong's ass, haha.

I did the same thing with my Fox Amiibo, only gave him the Impact Blacter, Twisting Fox, and Big Reflector.

The best part about all of this is that they'll have to shrink the roster in order to fit more than just two fighters on the Wii U version. The 3DS roster screen can fit four before expanding. More space means more hopes and dreams!

Sorry for double post but I saw this just after I posted, and your crazy if you think Dixie has no chance. If anything, she's easily in top five most likely. She was just in an acclaimed Wii U platformer released only a year ago, and most people are all for more DK representation (well, by most people I mean pretty much everyone). And she's been considered before by Sakurai and the team too I believe. AND she'd be an easy inclusion, as she can easily semi-clone Diddy and be based on his model, animations and moves.

I feel like she has a better shot than even K. Rool unless the poll landslides in his favorite. I would love to see Dixie, she's one of my most anticipated newcomers, because I'm a sucker for DKC2. But this isn't bias, she's easily up top along with K. Rool, Isaac, Wolf and maybe a couple others like Bandana Dee and Roy.
