Cancelling Final Smash

So today on smash dojo we saw pikachu's final smash.I thought it was sort of intersting saying,"If it gets cancelled in midair, something terrible will happen."

So what do you think this means? Will the Final Smash be able to stop upon command,or will you have to be attacked? It would be kind of cool to be able to stop it on a whim, but I don't see how it would really be effective for some such as Mario's final smash.

well, with Pikachu's Bacon, it's possible that they mean running into a wall, or an item. Or perhaps, you're not invincible when performing your Final Smash.

"Canceled" is probably an inaccurate translation. What was probably meant is that when the final smash expires, you will start plummeting without control so that if you're over the edge, you're going to die.

...at least that's what the screens lead me to believe.

I mean in general for any final smash, and if it were the case you could cancel it,would you be for it or against it?

It means that, to us, the word "cancel" means something different than what was intended. We know it as being able to interrupt something. It may have been intended as the attack's timer running out.

that would be cool if you could cancel your own final smash though. just think, jigglypuff gets a final smash like links...and right before you send the opponent flying you cancel the attack and rest them instead. pwnage!!!!!
...thats probably the only use it would have. oh well. jigglypuff rules.

bacon sucks.

This isn't the update topic, nor the Final Smash topic.

Yet it stays open?
Just curious, Mic, is there now a separate category for warnings for posting an update topic or do those simply count as "SPAM" as well? ;o

Anyway, Pika's hardly still vulnerable during his FS. He BECOMES a disjointed hitbox!

I think you should be able to cancel it.. You could miss it somehow and then be open for an attack. So you could cancel it and rid yourself of the open attack...

Similar to Gears of War curbstomps and Lancer Saws.. Wayyyy open for attack after ward..

i reckon that it probably means it lasts for a limited amount of time and if your flying over the edge when it runs out you fall to your doom XD
My point also with pikachu. Also, if your final smash limit runs out and you're in an FFA with the 3 other players, prepare to get jumped.
