Byleth: Joins House Smash Brothers Social Thread

Congratulations! Byleth looks like so much fun, and I’m glad they finally acknowledged the weapon triangle.

I'll admit about Three Houses; last year it was my most anticipated game and I found it a bit disappointing. Just the presentation felt off that was all.
It also took place when Nintendo went full on psycho on the music takedowns so I couldn't actually play the game without getting about angry about that.

Now with Byleth in and depending on things over the next two weeks, I'll come back to do it and restart the game.

I’m going to finish my Blue Lions route. I love how the palettes look but I sort of wish that they had added the 3 lords as alt characters.

I'm also really happy with the stage cameos, Hilda in particular she is my favorite.

Last year was weird for me games wise. I was full on excited for Death Stranding and Three Houses and both were just ok for me. To sum up last year it was nothing but Astral Chain, Trails and Detroit Become Human that I bought and completed.

I'll be getting Tokyo Mirage Sessions end of next week if I survive my workload.

I regret not joining this support thread sooner but I did have Byleth down there in my sig for a while now, so it's really nice to finally get a character that I've been asking for as DLC (still would've preferred Dimitri but I'm happy with how everything was handled).

Kon'nichiwa! Congratulations on Byleth's inclusion! Not quite one of my most wanted but I am not the least bit disappointed. Between you and me, it was the tight patterns on her stockings that sold me, not just his/her fighting style. Forgive me, I am unusual like that.

2 weeks isn't that bad, I can make that. But it would've been nice sooner

I really want to play around and see what they can do. I don't mind ranged characters, but hope they can handle fast close-ranged ones.

Okay, Sothis' comment about too many swordsmen made me laugh.

Congratulations to you all! Be prepared to fend off angry people for the next few weeks or so though, it's really sad how it's apparently difficult for this fanbase to expect the "lowkey/unusual last character" pattern to hold up. But hey, at least I was right about not necessarily having third parties in the pass.

Apart from that, it's nice how my favorite TH girls get to cheer on in the background, even if Edel's chances are pretty much toast.

Well, they did use a lot of dev time for Hero, and you could say Joker as well, so when I saw the 3 weapons I thought holy crap alt movesets?? Which would've been awesome but yeah I should've known that'd be asking for a lot

Oh, I'm gonna gush about two things.

1. The monastery and the cameos! So nice to see and I love how it looks. I'm still so happy Hilda got in, as well as Seteth. They're some of my faves!

2. The part in Byleth's trailer where they do a Gambit Boost by having an army of tiny Ice Climbers run past is ****ing hilarious. This might be one of the funniest Smash trailers, up there with Geese falling off the building during Terry's trailer.

Feel like sharing this reaction here for obvious reasons.

My experience with Three Houses has mainly been through watching this Youtuber, and on a whim I decided to watch his stream when the 5th fighter was announced. Needless to say, it was quite fitting.

Hate to say it, but you guys did a noble thing saving corrin from the bottom. I think it is just initial shock. Character looks to have a unique kit. and the stage looks good.

Yeah, I don't see Byleth supplanting Corrin in the long run. I mean, people are just used to Corrin being the memed on character, Three Houses has a much more positive reception then Fates, and Byleth was actually released after the game came out in both regions. After the shock subsides, things will be fine.
