as i mentioned in my other thread my public 4.0 beta wasnt workin at mine so we used someone elses whcih happened to be no shdl falco release and i didnt kno in the middle of a tuorney match using him. i lost to 2 olimars, a matchup i use falco for a couldnt now. theres my johns for not getting first lol

He said he got finals recorded and some other matches but, not the entire tournament (forgot to save some matches). But he said they got more vids than Melee singles.

Oh wow, I was just coming in to post my results and let you guys know about vids but I see it's already been covered! =]

Namely just that Keith played a lot of MK and Flamingo played Shiek.

The tournament was actually surprisingly hyped - a number of players ONLY came for Brawl+ (Fritz, Flamingo, Omni, Tim, Curran, Keith, and Bruh). Everyone who played it was much more positive about it than at my last tournament (as was I, except for campy finals matches). People were excited to practice and friendly with it for hours and hours while Melee went on.

In fact, a number of people in NC even exclusively play Brawl+ daily, or mainly to Brawl+ and play some Melee or Brawl on the side. I'm starting to get some hope for decent-sized B+ tournaments here.

Yoshi is also amazing, Karn has almost exclusively played him since early Brawl+ and my first tournament, he really just played him this one too with the exception of a match or two when he messed around with PT/Kirby. His Yoshi is scary, you'll see it in vids.

Speaking of vids, I recorded all of my replays tonight, and I'll upload them starting tomorrow. The ones featuring the highest-placing players actually will give us a lot of insight for character balance and it should be very helpful!

EDIT: If you want to add the info of the release with the tournament name, date, and location, like with the others listed, we all used the nightly release from 4/7 (basically 4.1 beta). We had three setups running that codeset.

Still, especially the finals should be referenced when looking at the balance... interestingly it's really campy with few combos and it almost seems like we need to take out the Brawl airdodge again. I'm not sure.

An air dodge during tumble would probably fix SOME of this (shanus's air dodge idea not the NADT) but in reality, I don't see that happening. I honestly dunno why anyone would camp over being a bit more offensive. I mean sure MK's planking still exists in 4.1 (we're currently testing his Uair fix right now actually). But I guess in a tournament setting, things can be a little different.

I seriously doubt the BAD is the problem though, it's likely the dumb tactics that can still be used with camping (as I said, MK's Uair on the ledge) or whatever.

You should really give no air dodging during the tumble code a shot and see how the campiness fairs.

I'm loving the current lack of a defined tier list. You see a very diverse range of characters showing up.

il def try to get the videos up tonight, theyr kind of amazing despite it only being 6 ppl, and i have every match played but 1. the one match not recorded was me v xerxes who ended up not liking the game, doing poorly, and SD'ing then quitting the tourney lol.

there was no grand finals because the tourney ended b4 we could finish, but we still have the winners finals of vex v spam, which is what grand finals woulda been anyway.
the best matches by far was vex v spam and me v kage (the king of ganondorf from melee. he doesnt know the plus aspect too much, but he is ridiculously smart)

o yea and the ques mark for vex is cause he used a ton of characters, but used mk and luigi twice compared to once with the others. his best are lucario marth and luigi. (just found out he used other characters twice more than luigi mk, here's his spread)
in total vex used luigi x2, marth, mk x2, lucario, ivysaur x2, snake x2
