Brawl plus Jerz, philly , NY

So I've recently been playing alot of Brawl with the no tripping and melee airdodge hacks added on. I must say it is a great experience. The game moves SO MUCH faster, combos are possible, and alot of characters are more playable.

What is the feeling the rest of you are getting from this?
If enough people are liking it, and it seems like they are, we can start a community of brawlplus players.

I honestly find this much more enjoyable than regular brawl. It's a nice balance for those who didn't like getting combod all day in melee, and those who didn't wanna camp all day in brawl and have people airdodge out of their combos all day. There is a much larger reward for catching your opponent when they cant airdodge out of your combos, wow its great.

I personally believe in this new brawlplus community metaknight should be banned from the door as he is completely broken. gaw is pretty dang good with this hack as well but not bannable. No meta increases fun and competitiveness as it allows MANY more characters to be used.

yea how do the rest of the people who have played brawl this way feel? Please if you are not interested in playing brawl this way, DO NOT POST HERE. I'm trying to see what other players would be interested in taking this seriously. I don't care about crybabies who don't want to try something different.

hm i am yet to play with it but is high gravity on???? and also i would love if they can change falcos shine back to the way melee was. imagine pillaring in brawl

This is not applied to standard brawl, but I feel as though anyone wanting to play some brawl with the melee airdodge hacks, mk should be banned.
If you don't agree, play it and see for yourself rofl.

This way of brawl was rapesauce. Falcon jokes aside; I could actually use the fawking character. Snake got worse but I'll gladly take the trade if it means other characters I use got better.

There still isn't combo'ing just cuz u can wavedash. What a ridiculous notion. Theres still no hitstun. So until they crack that hitstun code, the game def has nothing but reset combos.

I wasn't being negative, I was pointing out something false.

I work friday, go to tourneys/work saturdays, and work sundays.

I'm a really busy guy. My only way of playing melee is requesting off during the weekends. And during the week I'm usually busy on every day but wednesday and thursday.

Call it Brawl+ lol, it looks cool compared to the jumble of words brawlplus. Theres no need to necessarily have a community based around it, but a discussion thread is nice. Just hold tourneys for it, and they will come. Start only as side events though. I know I'm not ready to start traveling a lot just for this game. I'm holding the first Brawl+ event on Oct 31st at my philly biweekly.

I wouldn't ban metaknight yet based on only a few small play sessions. We need to see how the community finds to get around this. Also remember, as broken it seems MetaKnight may get, other characters get really good with more options against him. I unfortunately haven't played with S Canceling yet (i will tonight), but I can imagine some pretty crazy things Snake can do.

Also, after talking to Magus for a lot, there is hitstun in Brawl, it's just handled very differently compared to Melee. I don't feel like delving into it now, it's a long story lol. Perhaps later.

Personally, I think they should work on it more before a league is started. I definitely agree with adding hitstun and I think DI and should be reduced to about what it was in Melee. Also for balance sake, I think lag time should be added to all aerials that have no lag so you have to L cancel them for them to be effective. I think this would make Metaknight and some other characters a bit more fair. It is a great start so far but I'm sticking to Melee unless there are more positive changes.

:( I heard what he said about it. It's not that hitstun doesn't exist, it's that you can attack and airdodge out of it <_<.

I have a question. I heard that there is a glitch that allows Ike to infinitely directionally airdodge. Is this true? If so, how would this be handled? Would Ike be banned in this sort of a setting.

And chibo, how do u plan to acquire enough setups to allow for this brawl+ tourney? Wouldn't you need a gameshark for each setup, or do you just load the game, and then use the same gameshark on another setup, kinda like people do with memory cards?

You don't combo because you can wavedash silly, you combo because....PEOPLE CAN NOT AIRDODGE OUT OF YOUR HITS.

People have to make decisions on whether they want to airdodge and be juggled all day, attack, or whatever option they have. If you haven't tried it, you don't know what its like seriously. I'm not saying its melee combo's but its DEF more combo oriented than normal brawl.

Imagine Luigi being above Marth in Melee with no second jump on FD and an inability to fastfall. Is there anyway he can stop himself from being upaired over and over? Not really. THOSE are the kind of combos in this <_<

NO NOT THANKS TO WDING lol the people only get one airdodge now so the airdodge system is what enables the juggles. I guess wd and the airdodge system are one in the same but different at the same time, I just want u to get the right idea.

Also, combos are possible because di, or attacking are the only real ways to not get hit again vertically or horizontally. If the character you are trying to combo doesnt have a move that comes out fast enough to hit you before you hit them, you hit them again:). Before they just pressed L.

No they have updated the code and Rob no longer freezes the game lol. They also fixed the problems with transformation airdodging.

Can't you still airdodge out of the hits??

Like lets say a Luigi up-airs me. Although I only have one dodge won't I be able to do that dodge early like I want to? The hitstun is the same right?

Doesn't completing a full airdodge and touching the ground cause UpB lag? That would really suck for a lot of characters. And doesn't this code ruin Yoshi even more?

I'm not hating, just trying to get all the details straight so I can see whats up. How much do cheap SD cards go for?

and yes it does have up-b lag upon landing, which only really ***** luigi but his wavedash is retardedly long so he can't complain right?

My bad. I didn't know that rob doesn't freeze the game after freezing the game with a rob player :laugh:

Really though it doesn't eazy had an older code.

They changed it so everyone goes to their normal falling animation. It's kind of gay because it looks like they can still do something but they can't.

And anyways, don't listen to stupid Keitaro, the chain can freeze the game all the time.

What do you guys think of my idea for a power-cancel/modified l-cancel like move? I think it could add a lot of new depth to the game's offensive aspect with some good mixups and shield pressure options, but without being overpowered and 1-dimensional like s-canceling. It's barely different than the existing l-cancel code so it'd only need to be modified slightly to make it.
