I choose Lucario.

Because Lucario represents two unrepresented types.

And furthermore, Deoxys doesn't sit right with me. I think he would be a time consuming character to create with all his potential forms, and would just end up a clunky mess. So I feel the time going to create him will be wasted in creating an unpopular and boring character to play. Plus Mewtwo really deserves the title of ultimate psychic pokemon.

Its already been said that he will most likely change forms during moves (preferbly the special moves.)

Time consuming? They have enough time to spice up the crates and barrels but they don't have enough time to make Deoxys? Also, maybe I'm blind but I see absolutely NO similiarity between Mewtwo and Deoxys. Sure... same type but come on! Besides the energy ball, they share NO similiarities.

Also, people tend to use the logic that since Mewtwo sucked in Melee, he's going to suck in Brawl. And if a character levitates he is INSTANTLY like Mewtwo. BULL.

I don't mind if you support Lucario, I do to, but using that as an excuse doesn't satisfy me unless you come out and say, "hey, I just think Lucario is cooler" or make a better argument.

I wonder how many of you have ever brought a Mewtwo to a tournament?

If you can't play him well enough, you shouldn't be complaining that he sucks. All that's wrong with him, is lack of weight and speed.

Lucario vs Mewtwo would be an awesome FMV.

Britain, glaring at you **** yanks.
Argh, i'm going to bite something...

Deoxys has 3 different forms, which could be assigned to B so he has no actual B attacks. His speed form could make everything faster, power, more powerful, defense, less damage taken.

Lucario is generally cooler because he's a wolf, but I guess his moves would be pretty generic.

I'm gonna go with Deoxys on this one.

Actually He has 4. Normal form could have a rounded amount of attributes from each of the others.

From what Ive seen of the pair of them both seem pretty reasonable, but I chose Lucario because a) he is most relevent and b) has the most obvious moveset. Deoxys could serve as a good Mewtwo replacement though.
Although I have to admit, I would find it absolutley hilarious if neither made it in after all this.

They probly won't, it might be to late in the production of ssbb. But we can see who would win the argument (not brutally) in the end and keep our hopes up.

Dang, why does everyone prefer Lucario over Deoxys? Confusing, Deoxys is too awesome...
That might have something to do with the fact people actually have played with Lucario, as opposed to Deoxys, who would need either attendance to some event about 98% of the pokemon players can't attend, or a gameshark

Seriously, if it weren't for Brawl discussions, I wouldn't even remember Deoxys. I had to stretch my braincells to remember which game he was supposed to be in! :ohwell:

Also, I dunno why, but Lucario looks very cool, I liked him for the moment I saw him. Might be the Anubis ripoff thing :p

Lucario, even though I don't actually like him that much.
Deoxys is frighteningly hideous and her different forms would maker her a far too complex character for Smash.
You could also root for the other way deoxys could be. Deoxys would change forms as animations, thus making one moveset and stat set.

I am supporting stryks idea by basically saying it btw, but I added some stuff on of my own.

For example-attack form-smash attacks, grab attacks, and psycho boost (B)
-defense form-guarding and mirror coat (B v)
-speed form- dashing, jumping, dodgeing, dash attacks, aerial attacks, and extreme speed (B <>)
-normal form-taunt, stand, walk, walk attacks, neutral attack, teleport (B ^), and duplicate (mimics unown, final smash)

...what's with the tendency some people have of addressing Pokemon as female?

Anyway...
I don't care much for either although I like Pokemon. Go me!
Deoxys is just no match for the cuteness of Mewtwo, and it looks like something Akira Toriyama created. Perfect Cell/Lavos Core for Brawl!
It just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Lucario is... modeled after Anubis. It doesn't really click with me, either, I like neither the fighting type, nor the metal type, and why is it metal anyway?
But I guess the whole wave thing and that it probably has some sort of significance and all... I guess it's okay.
And it's furry(?). Furry beats whatever-that-other-thing-is in my book.

*cough*four*cough*
speed, attack, defense and normal. All of those could be assigned to a different B attack, as said multiple times before. It would be more difficult to create standard attacks for him though.

Lucario is actually based after Anubis, the greek god of the Netherworld.
It is classified as the wave guiding pokemon, thus he can send out waves, which helps him to get an original moveset. It is a fighting type too, which makes him able to get close range attacks too.

I'd say Lucario FTW.
Lucario > Pikachu > Mewtwo > Pichu > Jigglypuff > Deoxys.

Blaziken is overrated. and all of uncle kenny's polls seem to be be 1 v 1.

despite all the lucario love thats stinking up the place, deoxys has broken even in the number of votes recieved for the last little while. when i voted it like, 8 to 32 (lucario's favour obviously). now its 21 plays 42....Deoxys is actually clawing his way back in the game! HOOAAHH!!

From a logical standpoint, there's not possible way that Deoxys got in over Lucario. For all intents and purposes, Lucario is essentially the new Pikachu. It's the most popular one out of this new generation, and the one most frequently used in promotional material and items (seriously, the dude has more merch with his face on it that 50 Cent). Lucario is the most popular Pokemon out there, so it'd be madness if they didn't include him.

As for my personal opinion, Lucario is made of pure awesome, and Deoxys looks like the b'astard lovechild of Gooper Blooper and Gumby. So, Lucario for the win.

Pikachu doesn't even compare!

I guess he is of the steel type because of the steel spikes on the back of his paws and on his chest. That's what most people suggest.

Lucario by a small margin. I think Brawl needs a 3rd (Deoxys) and a 4th (Lucario) gen rep. So I'd like them both.

i think lucario would be some kind of SSBM fox's clone, i mean he seems fast, with strong melee attacks and since its a steel type pokemon, he'd be heavy(fox isnt but might be like a fastfaller), plus i dont like deoxys XD so i vote lucario

1-clones are bad.
2- He's fast, decent strength and jump, and makes up for his short range martial skills with powerful projectiles like aura sphere and dragon pulse.
3-I don't really like fighting fox type characters, but that part is my opinion.

Okay, favouritism aside, by %, what do you think are the chances of Lucario and Deoxys (not both, just they're chances individually) being in Brawl?

I would have to think Lucario has at least a 70% chance of being a playable character in SSBB, it's the most wanted Pokémon for it, it'll be an outrage if they cut him out of it, they'd have many disappointed gamers...

Deoxys: 10%...

I've been playing Deoxys in my mind for many years now. He's mid-high tier. I also won a few tournaments too.

Yup.

Because random percents based on statistics and criteria you made up reinforce Lucario's chances over Deoxys.

Try this thread. A whole lot of people have voiced their opinions on just that, and the overall results are shown in the first post:

I freakin' love you, man.

Wait, you misspelled Gardevoir. Nevermind.
My bad >_> I never learned how to spell Her name correctly.

Well people do want Lucario more than Deoxys. The main debate is Lucario vs Gardevoir.

Actually Anubis is Egyptian, but your close enough ;) Greek god= Hades

I am personally all for lucario. After being forced to sit through every pokemon movie made so far, the first one and lucarios were the only ones I really enjoyed. I swear they must have fired the last script writer and hired a new one, because that movie, unlike the others, was NOT cheezy/ annoying O_o OMG

Anyways, I am a little biased because I love lucario so much (I swear, you can't go wrong modeling a character after a god of the dead), but deoxys would do fine to. I believe there are very few pokemon who can actually represent the series in brawl, and those 2 are some of the only ones who would actually fill that roll. w00t
