It was May of 2006, a new Smash Bros. was announced. This gave hope to many characters to be a playable fighter. Many fans support their favorite characters to the fullest and wish that they make the cut. But recently there has been a wave of sorrow for many.

Recently updates have relinquished any hope for certain characters to playable. They're there, but not as one would have like it to. Being an item or a background cameo is the same
as death for many.

Here we look back at the dreams of fighters who have been deconfirmed...

Groudon never really had any support, nor do I think anybody though it was going to be playable in the first place. It had a thread, but was closed immediately.

I don't think Tom Nook is deconfirmed. I actually think that the AC stage increases his chances. If you look at the screen shots, he's not in the background all the time. Maybe he's not there anymore after you unlock him.

I'm pretty sure that there will be an AC character now that there's an AC stage, and the more I think about it the more I think it will be Tom Nook. I've thought about someone like Mr. Resetti, but the stage symbol is Tom Nook's symbol.

Tom Nook, and K.K. Slider still have a chance...well maybe not the later.

The cahracters in the background of the AC stage are randomly generated. You can tell this by the fact that the characters are always diffrent in the background, not even being dependant on the time of day. Tom Nook could simply not be there when he's selected to fight on that stage. (K.K. though is set to show up at that exact time, so I wouldn't hope for him against hope)

KK Slider definitely has no chance of being playable, but I think that this may apply to Tom Nook as well. If he was playable, they really wouldn't put him in the background at all. Have you ever seen a playable character in the background of a stage before this? And besides, Tom Nook wouldn't be a good playable character to represent Animal Crossing. (See sig)

There hasn't been a deconfirmation of Nook. So he appears in the background, that doesn't make him deconfirmed. Fox, Falco, Kirby, and all appeared in the background and they were still playable. Therefore, Nook is not "deconfirmed".

That just seems so unlikely to happen, though... I mean, most of AC characters have already appeared in the stages except for Mr. Ressetti. So he is the only one that seems to have the most likable chance.

Not to be a downer, but think about it. It just doesn't seem likely.

If I was fans of those characters I would be happy that they were making it in at all as ATs. Most of those character's only chance where as AT's anyways. Would you rather not have them in at all?

I really don't see how Deoxys could be a playable character though, the idea of switching forms and modes was cool, but just the way he looks was an instant item material in my mind. There'll be better hopes for Munchlax, or Lucario

He's a genetic enemy which Kirby gets his fighting ability. Remember what Kirby does when you tap A while standing still in SSBM? Yea, that's from Knuckle Joe.
