I think we can forget canon for smash just look at twilight sheik. If sakurai wants charizard to use sky attack, hydro pump or or any other move, I think he will have it.

It's nigh impossible to discern the characters, but we're trying valiantly. Candidates are Fly, Wing Attack, and perhaps Aerial Ace. Though it's hard to tell, it's probably not Air Slash (for all you almightygoat fans out there :chuckle:).

I have evidence that Almight Goat is fake anyway.

Anyway, Brawl Central hasn't updated in a long time.

For what it's worth, Pokemon Trainer's Specials are listed as :

Neutral Special: n/a
Up Special: n/a
Side Special: n/a
Down Special: Pokemon change

:)

Big surprises there. I wonder if Pokemon Trainer has anyhting to do with the battle at a start and you have to call out one of the Pokemon in the begining?

Hey, if it helps, the japanese name for Fly, roughly translated, is "Sky Jump" and Arial Ace is Tsubami Gaeshi.

The man speaks truth, but Pikachu cant learn Thunder Jolt
But thats only because Thunder Jolt doesnt exist. Is it by any chance named after Thundershock in Japanese? Sakurai and co. seem to be following the rules pretty closely this time, what with not letting Squirtle and Ivysaur use Hydro Cannon and Frenzy Plant to make their Final Smash arguably more appropriate...

Not to mention that people forget that Sky Attack involves the Pokemon charging up then turning itself into some blazing bird of prey that slams into the target...

^^ Yes, FForceSultan. Already disconfirmed by Zelda's FS (go me for asking the question!).
You're happy to see Sheik? I thought you were completely against her inclusion. Unless I'm mistaking you for someone else... or if you're simply happy to see another "leaker" proven to be a fraud.

People (like you) really need to stop blowing that little piece of logic out of proportion. Yes there are *minor* differences between canon and Smash Bros. but it's not like Sakurai goes on a canon-busting rampage. We know nothing about what 'Twilight Change' means, so how can you pretend to?

Bottom line: Pokémon in Smash Bros. do not and will not have special moves or Final Smashes that they can't learn in the games (Thunder Jolt being treated as Thundershock, a move that is actually real, for the purpose of this argument). The only exception is Pichu's Skull Bash, but he was a clone so that makes sense.

I'm not happy to see Sheik because we haven't seen her yet! :chuckle:

No, I'm not super-excited to learn of Sheik's return, and I would prefer it if she were just her own character--and a nerfed one, at that. But my main point of excitement stems from the fact that I was able to take down a fake leaker. ;)

One step ahead of you, my friend. ;) SORAOTOBU is an expression that means "to fly in the air." But thank you!

Your welcome. I know the Fly one from Serebii because of the discussion on how Dodrio learns it. And The Aerial Ace one because of the multiple "how does (insert pokemon that can't fly here) learn Aerial Ace?" threads.

There should be one topic for discussing all of the Brawl Central information, since there will undoubtedly be more to come.

Well either way Sheik (or whoever may use her moveset or a similiar one) will be nerfed hard. If not the hardest of the smashers. Even on a casual level Sheik was overpowered.

This is that topic.

Update: The Charizard special is near impossible to figure out, but we're determined. We're one move away from knowing all of PT's Specials. We're taking a quick break for now. I'm gonna eat and try to answer at least some of the emails I've been getting the last few hours.

Also: The big image that confirms Snake and Sonic as hidden just mentions already known stuff (from what we noticed so far). They also have the Dragoon Item as an exclusive scoop for some reaosn, as if they were the first to reveal it before the Dojo. :/

I wonder if all of this will be translated before Brawl is released....
Oh well, we have next week to look forward to.
Not only is Famitsu giving their review next week (hopefully), but there will be another Brawl demo from 9 to 4 this Sunday (in Japan), in addition to whatever Dojo updates we get.
Things are looking up.

Wow... Razor Leaf and Water Gun... the same moves that everyone in the entire universe predicted when PT was first announced.

I just really want to know Charizard's Up B.

Please be Seismic Toss...

Seismic toss would be great for charizard. Since it's used a lot in the anime.

How would Seismic Toss work as a special move? It would probably be one of his throws, if anything.

He'd probably do a quick upward curve swoop, grabbing an enemy along the way. If he does grab, he flies in a loop then slams the opponent into the ground. Without an opponent, he just goes into a glide.

I hate to break it to you, but from what I could discern (not much) Seismic Toss doesn't seem likely. :ohwell: I feel for you, because that was my prediction for Charizard's Up Special also.

As far as ZSS goes, I was basically able to translate her Down Special to be FURIPPU JANPU--Flip Jump in English, for all you non-Japanese monoglots out there. ;) Granted, it's VERY difficult to make out the kana, but comparing characters for the moves that we know and combining that with first-hand reports of ZSS gameplay, it sounds like a plausible name for her Down Special.

So, that's the latest of our translation work. It's unofficial yet, because I want to run it by Chi's Finest before he posts it. All we need are more Corocoro cards--and a better picture of Charizard's card.

Hah, when my friend play Z-Amus he said the flip jump was next to useless, but then again we were excited and had no clue what we were doing the first couple of matches we had.

I'm wondering, is there anyone from Japan right now who could get a copy of Coro Coro just to resolve this?

It's not evern on the japanese smash forums that everyone's tearing throgugh yet. I was supposed to have the same source get me the February issue as they did for the January issue last month, but I haven't heard anything all day.

Does anyone know where we can type japanese text into something and change the font of it? All the typing programs we have won't let us edit non english characters. I think we have the move figured out!

Got your windows CD? if so, you can install asian-characters (kanji and loads more)

Just google "Asian character installation" for clear step by step installation
