You say that. But the Sonic the Hedgehog movie exists.Sega is probably stingy about Sonic. Notice how Joker and Bayonetta have more distinct alts?

I mean in general, there are no secondary third party characters that are playable outside of Richter and Ken, and they're both just echo fighters. It's some sort of crime how we get Joker and Bayonetta before any sort of secondary Sonic character. Even Shadow, the most obvious echo next to Ken, doesn't make the cut. I'm starting to think Sakurai hates Sonic characters.
Considering how all the third parties outside of Sonic, Megaman and Pac-Man are human. It might be less not liking Sonic characters are more just wanting to make more Human characters.
Steve: I'll swing this pickaxe at you!We will just have to see. Steve is still in pickaxe swinging range. Which up to you to decide if you consider Steve a human or not. :v
Damn, Shy Guy would actually be sick. Could even act as a Yoshi rep. All the different Shy Guy types would lend for a really diverse moveset. I never realised how much I support Shy Guy until now.even though some of these characters didn't make it in the Top 18 i'm glad and relief that people are still supporting Fawful,Paper Mario,Dixie Kong,Wonder Red,Chorus Kids,Karate Joe,Ninten,Masked Man,Viridi(though i don't like her nowadays),Eggman,Klonoa,Lloyd Irving,Leon,Amaterasu,Professor Layton,Quote,Frisk, and Heavy from the poll, plus Shy Guy made it there. guess after Piranha Plant, he seems to have gain so much support.
Smash really needs intro conversations. I know not a lot of the characters talk butSteve: I'll swing this pickaxe at you!
Banjo: Big talk for someone in Grenade egg range.
I always though that's why because Sonic needs to be blue, same with PAC-MAN being yellow, etc, but that not sounds so true.Sega is probably stingy about Sonic. Notice how Joker and Bayonetta have more distinct alts?
I would like Dixie Kong in Smash too, But I feel like most King K. Rool/DK fans flocked towards Banjo-Kazooie as the next Rare newcomer rather than Dixie.I'm dead pleased for Banjo, Geno, Rayman, Crash and Tails being so highly wanted. Especially Tails, didn't see that coming.
But damn do I wish Dixie Kong had more popularity than she has, I assumed post K. Rool reveal she would upsurge in popularity but apparently not. Seeing Hollow Knight above her just feels off man.
I think you're right, K Rool was my most wanted, and although Dixie is now my number one pick, Banjo is a very close second. Those two would complete the roster for me.I would like Dixie Kong in Smash too, But I feel like most King K. Rool/DK fans flocked towards Banjo-Kazooie as the next Rare newcomer rather than Dixie.
I'm pretty much in the same boat, Banjo-Kazooie is overall my most wanted newcomer, But King K.Rool was a my 2nd most wanted and I voted for both of them in the fighter ballot back in 2015.I think you're right, K Rool was my most wanted, and although Dixie is now my number one pick, Banjo is a very close second. Man, that trailer as a long time K Rool fan was so rewarding. I was in disbelief, somehow even as DK was yawning part of me was like “no way, it’ll be Dixie still” lmao (which was still a win for me haha). Then queue a trailer showing him with a redesign alluding to his Rare days, all his iconic moves, a HD DK Isle. God damn man. To this day I get excited seeing K Rool on the roster.I'm pretty much in the same boat, Banjo-Kazooie is overall my most wanted newcomer, But King K.Rool was a my 2nd most wanted and I voted for both of them in the fighter ballot back in 2015.
I remember at the end of the Smash Direct back in August when we heard the ground shaking from giant foot prints I was thinking "There's really only 1 potential major newcomer big enough to make the ground quake "and when they showed of that montage of "Hero's vs Villains" by the time it showed Kirby and Fox a lightbulb turned in my head "The pattern is good guys vs bad guys and there is one major Nintendo character missing... Donkey Kong" and the moment We saw DK yawning in that CGI trailer I was breathing heavily, my mind was racing and thinking "No Way" absolutely lost my mind when King K. Rool was shown off, I was so pumped and amped up and giddy for the rest of the week, DK was the last major character that did not have his antagonist and not only was King K. Rool finally back after a decade, But Nintendo finally recognizing him as DK's main antagonist very likely locks him up for future Donkey Kong Country or maybe even a 3D Platformer too.
After King K Rool got in he pretty much has been my main followed by DK and have been pretty dominant online (GSP: 4,655,000) and now I have been double downing my support and focus for Banjo-Kazooie ever since.
Wait what just happened?Just remember, if you think a post is bait, just don't respond. Please just report it. It makes it a lot easier for us to handle. There's some cases where we need to edit out or remove a post entirely. That means every reply to it has to be taken care of in some way.
Moderation is working on the situation, of course.
There was a report for a user who happens to also frequent this thread, and I posted it in the wrong spot, basically.Wait what just happened?
What did I miss?
I actually thought the ground shaking at the end of the August Smash Direct was cannon fire and I immediately thought "OH CRAP. Are they really doing it?!" And then when they started showing all the heroes and villains and ended on Donkey Kong I was like "No freaking way... Ridley AND K. Rool finally made it into Smash?!" Those two and Simon Belmont got checked off my list of most hyped newcomers all within two back to back directs, so that's probably why I felt spoiled so soon with the other trailers being kind of disappointing compared to them. Combined with every single veteran returning AND the Grinch leak claiming Issac, Geno, AND Banjo & Kazooie and a part of me knew that would be a roster too good to be true. I'm still holding out hope to get a reveal at E3 rivaling Ridley, Simon, and K. Rool's, and the only reveal I could think could surpass the hype of those three would be Banjo & Kazooie.I'm pretty much in the same boat, Banjo-Kazooie is overall my most wanted newcomer, But King K.Rool was a my 2nd most wanted and I voted for both of them in the fighter ballot back in 2015.

Y'know, that's the thing with Smash speculation. People always think that there's going to be some incredibly hype character saved until the very last presentation. It's pretty clear that the trend of that has been debunked. It's much more likely and a lot healthier in terms of setting speculation expectations that it's just simply who is ready to be showcased and not still being tweaked. Ridley, K.Rool, and Simon were likely Ballot picks, so it's natural to think that they would have been worked on much sooner than other characters. Incineroar was not only a later addition (2016 most likely since Sun and Moon came out in November of 2016) but also most likely lower priority since he wasn't asked for. Going into DLC, this seems to kind of hold true. Joker was probably the first reveal since he has been worked on first, but also because he can be pretty hype since Persona is a popular Japanese series with some Western appeal.I actually thought the ground shaking at the end of the August Smash Direct was cannon fire and I immediately thought "OH CRAP. Are they really doing it?!" And then when they started showing all the heroes and villains and ended on Donkey Kong I was like "No freaking way... Ridley AND K. Rool finally made it into Smash?!" Yooo, that's cool af.Smash really needs intro conversations. I know not a lot of the characters talk but
Banjo: Looks like we both got in together blockhead.
Steve: ......
Banjo: Man of many words I see.
I also think one of the biggest hurdles against Dixie is the state of the franchise itself. Retro is hard at work on Metroid Prime 4 now, and who knows if their project they were working on will come to fruition. It might not have been DK either. It might be hard for some to get excited for a character who might not have a major presence in the future. On the bright side, we DK fans do have someone by the name of DaveThroat claiming Nintendo will do a better job with the franchise's exposure after K. Rool's placing on the ballot surprised the head honchos over at Nintendo. That is if we can trust DaveThroat who I'm still doubting. If true though, we can only hope Dixie is part of Nintendo's plan to push the series and characters better than they have been. I need at least a Donkey Kong line of Amiibo before those things completely bite the dust.I think you're right, K Rool was my most wanted, and although Dixie is now my number one pick, Banjo is a very close second. Those two would complete the roster for me.
Alright guys E3 is a little over a month away, and we're almost guaranteed to be getting a Microsoft Rep revealed for Smash there! Question is which one do you think it is?
— TSR | 👑𝔻𝕚𝕤𝕔𝕠𝕣𝕕𝔹𝕠𝕪👑 (@TheDiscordBoy) May 7, 2019
Shy Guy or The Stork. Either one would make my day.Shy guy would make an amazing yoshi rep ! even the 1st paper mario alone has so much moveset potental for them
"Almost guaranteed" seems like a huge exaggeration, but I did my part and voted for Banjo. While I don't know which one's more likely, I'd greatly prefer Banjo - I wouldn't mind a Minecraft stage (there's five blank slots and four stages coming from the fighter's pass - it likely doesn't mean anything, given the unusual spacing of character select screens from previous games, but it seems weird to only have a single empty space), or Minecraft Mii costumes, but when it comes to characters that are owned by Microsoft, Banjo and Kazooie seem like Ridley, K. Rool, or the Belmonts, in that their inclusion fulfills a decade-plus-long dream that many thought to be impossible for one reason or another.Hey guys I found a poll. vote for banjo!

Voted for you-know-whooie of course, but it's all superfluous. It's nice to support the bear and bird wherever we can I suppose!"Almost guaranteed" seems like a huge exaggeration, but I did my part and voted for Banjo. Yeah, as far as Mario mooks go, I'd have taken Shy Guy over Plant no question (no offense, Plant Gang...)Damn, Shy Guy would actually be sick. Could even act as a Yoshi rep. I feel like the last poll we got 2nd on triggered the trolls, they were ****posting, falseflagging and lying their little heads off last night. For the sake of my sanity I'm making more of an effort to avoid /v/. The stupid burns a little to hard at times.Voted for you-know-whooie of course, but it's all superfluous. You know you are feeding the trolls by constantly talking about them, right?I feel like the last poll we got 2nd on triggered the trolls, they were ****posting, falseflagging and lying their little heads off last night. I get that. I'll keep quiet about it.You know you are feeding the trolls by constantly talking about them, right?
Also, not a violation of global Rules but please try to keep the drama in other sites outside of here. It's not constructive and serves little purpose beyond being flame bait.
After Belmont leaked I was bummed out that I already knew the character incoming. That direct was so solid and it got to the end with the screen shaking I was like "Could it be..." and then when all the villains and DK showed up I was literally shaking. King K Rool was one of my most wanted since Brawl and getting him in was one of the hypest things.I'm pretty much in the same boat, Banjo-Kazooie is overall my most wanted newcomer, But King K.Rool was a my 2nd most wanted and I voted for both of them in the fighter ballot back in 2015.

I'd be fine with either or! Both have a ton of great potential as characters with magical movesets, of course one would be a middleweight while the other a super heavyweight along the lines of Bowser, K. Rool, Ganondorf, and King Dedede. But for now, I just want Banjo & Kazooie as the main playable characters while Mumbo Jumbo would be an assist trophy and Gruntilda a stage hazard for Banjo & Kazooie's stage, in my mind that would be most ideal lol plus I'm of the mind that third party characters/franchises should have only one playable representative in Smash in my opinion. I don't mind echoes like Ken and Richter making it in, but having more representatives like Tails and Knuckles becoming playable for Sonic would take away how special having Sonic be in Smash is.Alright folks, hypothetically, we can only get 2 Banjo Kazooie characters. Who would the second one be: Mumbo Jumbo or Gruntilda? Anyone who answers correctly will get likes.
Gotta go with Grunty, I like Mumbo, But I feel like Grunty has much more potential, she can be that rare Heavyweight that is more long range based even more so than K. Rool using her spells and she can use her broomstick as a Side Special too or recovery.Alright folks, hypothetically, we can only get 2 Banjo Kazooie characters. Shy Guy or The Stork. Either one would make my day.
Ok why is this so epicI'd go with grunty. She can be what i always wanted ganon to be... a spell casting heavy weight. Other than her obvious skeletal alt from tooie, her costumes could reference different villains. Mr patch, old king coal, chilli billi/ chilly willy, and maybe her nuts and bolts design (the only redesign I like in that game)
Plus how hype would it be if we got both the titular characters, and the main villain of a dead franchise on the same day?
"Now that you've joined the roster, you think you're so bold and brash. Think again bear and bird, CAUSE NOW IT'S TIME TO SMASH!"
