Reminds me of how some kids at my school would say: "Boy, you salty!" I'm not sure if they were trying to say "You're salty", but their grammar and vocabulary? Horrible. I know it's the same meaning as saying that the salt is real, but the term was used mostly when you disrespected people and wanted to fight them. Let me tell you: People did that to me literally everyday. Really, when they try to throw punches at you, when you take the necessary actions, they won't bother you again.I have no idea. All I know is that it was used a lot. But like almost every high school trend it died off after about a year. I don't know what the 'Insult of the (metaphorical) day' is at the moment. By day I mean year or whatever.
