I'm used to Epicmafia where it's open setup with one ML in a 9 man game with three scum. So closed setup with two MLs in an 11 man game with three scum doesn't seem so far fetched. The extra ML compensates for setup shenanigans. I think the setup is fine assuming that the town idiot comes up town to the vanilla copper and the traitor comes up guilty to the vanilla copper. Stalker/redirector balances out doc make sure the setup isn't only doc target cop which makes it town sided. Redirector is there to annoy the cop so that role is fine as well if it comes down to investigations. I hate investigative roles having too much power in any given setup. Cop should play mediocore to avoid lynch and kill, same with doc. Village idiot can be there for indie shenanigans. I don't mind playing this again.
Basically, they were the "bad guys" of awkward moments town (or whatever you want to call it), self-confidence and laughing at your own mistakes. Everyone else was an awkward moment, but they weren't so obviously they needed safe claims.
So what I did was was make 11 awkward moment role pms, and then I just used the trusty old RNG to decide which ones would be safe claims for the scum.
Man the TTK lynch was so bad >_< now that I see why he couldn't be here and all.
The only thing I'm good at is looking town. I doubt anyone here had a sincere scumread on me for long at any point.
As for finding scum myself... I just don't know what to look for all the time. I've had moments of being super accurate, but it's rare. The last time I read Kuz as scum correctly was in his Gord hydra in Bingo mafia, and that was partially because of his overprotectiveness of who he thought was his only mafia buddy (J), and partially because the mafia traitor (Glyph) was bussing them super hard.
And then I lost that game because we lynched practically everyone besides Glyph.
It depends not just on mod confirmed information (Like how would you get that info? Say, cop investigation?) but on their said claim and your said claim, furthermore, depending on the circumstances (what cycle we're in)
Give me a little credit, guys. Not only did I protect the right person on N2, but I didn't just blindly follow Kuz like you all seemed to think I did. Did you see me on FM's lynch, when I obviously wanted to lynch Armor or RR? Did I protect Kuz at all, when he outright asked? (which actually made me think he was more indy than mafia)
Day 1 was a different story, because unfortunately I wasn't really there for the deadline. I should have pushed Ryker harder there.
What had me hung up this game:
-All 3 of the scum played pretty townie imo. They were not afraid at all to put themselves out there.
-There were 3 scum. I considered the possibility of a traitor, but didn't even mention it because I thought any variation of 3 scum in an 11 player game would be dumb.
-I was focused on Ryker's scumminess so much that it was hard to consider others to be scum while he was still alive. Not to mention the inactive/uncaring players like Gova's slot (mostly felipe I guess) and Armor.
You definitely stepped your game up near the end, no lie. Good job with the protect, and yeah, you were on Kuzi when you caught him in the lie (I think? I hardly reed anything) Just before then it was more assdough than Asdioh.
Also, Asdioh brought up something that reminds me of another reason I did not like this set up:
scum had too much voting power
Like, there were several situations were scum could just throw all their weight at a lynch and already be half the lynch, and it DID happen. It's really kinda dumb.
The problem was, some of the townies were scummier than the scummies. Don't you agree?
How would I not want to lynch Ryker's slot? Same, to a smaller extent, with Armor?
The FM lynch smelled but Kuz was still pretty convincing, even if I didn't agree. I swear the scum made more effort in making cases (or at least showed they were reading and trying to gauge alignments based on what they're reading) than some of the townies did.

my god if i knew that there were 3 scum, i would be SO much more suspicious of kuz, kantrip, and fynal, especially after i quoted both votecounts and realized they were all on both MLs.
of course, i didn't know there were 3 scum, and that was after the alpha... >_<
Welcome to Awkward Moments Mafia, Kantrip! You are your first kiss, mafia traitor.
You’re an awkward moment, you guess. Thing is though, you really don’t want to be one! You feel like you should be a moment looked upon with satisfaction, not awkwardness! So, you have decided to betray the awkward moments, and join the mafia! You have done your own research, and have found out that the mafia are non other then Fynal (mafia stalker) and th3kuzinator (mafia one-shot redirector).
Unfortunately though, your are still an awkward moment, and are thus incompatible with joining the mafia fraction, even if they were somehow able to find out who you were and your true cause. You’re also much too shy to make yourself known to them, so they do not even know of the existence of you!
Abilities:
Knowledge: You know who the mafia are, and what their roles are. You also know that they have safe claims. However, they do not know of the existence of a traitor in this game.
Restrictions:
Unrecruitable: You cannot ever be officially accepted into the mafia this game, even if the mafia somehow finds out your true role.
Win Condition:
You win with the mafia, which is when they have more or equal numbers to the remaining town players. Even if you are dead. You do not count towards majority with the mafia.
Safe Claim:
Welcome to Awkward Moments, Kantrip! You are your first kiss, vanilla townie.
Pucker up, buttercup. This one will never go down smoothly. Either you’re gonna miss, or your noses are gonna clash, or it’s going to be a closed mouth dry kiss, or what. In any scenario, you’re not going to have a very successful first kiss. Hey though, that’s okay! Practice makes perfect, after all. Your get better at it with time, kid.
Abilities: Your thoughts, voice, and vote are your only power. Use them wisely!
Win Condition: You win when all anti-town factions have been eliminated. Even if you are dead.
I just realized that Kuz knew my power before I claimed, and he didn't slip up with surprise or anything like that after I claimed VT.
I was also right about blaming kuz for the night kill, and should have known redirector was a scum role. I was thinking about the time I was a town bus driver in mindgamed mafia though...
Welcome to Third Wheel Mafia, Fynal! You are self-confidence,mafia stalker.
You are self-confidence! You have the almighty powers of good will, hope, and personal drive. You believe in your own ability, and would never let awkward moments drag you down!
You’re ability to drastically improve the life’s of people is naturally resented by awkward moments. Indeed, you are the killer of awkward moments, and you’re proud of it to!
You’re agenda is simple: Death to the awkward moments, and power to self-confidence! Give people the drive to pursue happiness and improve their lives! Hoorah!
Active Abilities:
Killing: Every Night, you may kill someone by sending in the command Kill: Player name. You may also chose to not kill by sending in the command Kill: no one.
Stalking: Every Night, you may stalk someone. Do this by sending in the command Stalk: *player’s name*. Everything about them, their flavor, alignment, and role name, will be revealed to you at the end of the Night. You may also choose to stalk: no one.
Communication: You may communicate with your mafia partner, Player Y (mafia one-shot redirector) at all times using the following quick topic:
You may also communicate through any other method you wish, just make sure to post any other logs of communication in the quick topic. Also, communicating via Skype is call is fine, just make sure that you create a separate call room for it, and also make sure to add me to it.
Win Condition: You win when the mafia outnumbers or goes even with the number of town players remaining alive. Even if you are dead.
Safe Claim:
Welcome to Awkward Moments mafia, Fynal! You are that guy who’s office chair makes farting noises, vanilla townie.
“Welp, time to do some work” you say to yourself as you take a seat at your desk. However, just as you sit down, you hear a
“Paaarrp”
“Oh no,” you think as your eyes shift. You know that sound, you know the general location that that sound came from, and you know that the others in the room with you also know the general location of that sound. I wasn’t from you though! At least, not directly. The others keep doing their own work, as they are too polite to call you out, but you know what they are thinking.
Worse yet, you’re stuck there. It would look odd, and even more incriminating, if you just immediately got right back up after sitting down. Plus, the chair will fart again for you if you did that. So you decide to play it cool and just do your work as planned, but man, as time you start to notice that every time you adjust your body just a square inch in that chair a new
“Pffffffft”
or
“purp”
comes out of it. It gets to the point where you refuse to move your body at all. You keep your lower body as perfectly still as possibly, even when you find yourself to be in a really uncomfortable position. You’re now stuck here, in one of life’s awkward moments.
Abilities: Your thoughts, voice, and vote are your only power. Use them wisely!
Win Condition: You win when all anti-town factions have been eliminated. Even if you are dead.
Wow lol, good job scum!!! Kuz, KUZ!!!...I expect nothing less of you lol. Remember when I blatantly refused to put you at the top of my town read even though I had absolutely no reason to suspect you. This is why : P
Kantrip was a solid town read for me, very well done. And Fynal flew under the radar most of the game, as an observer I started to question him a bit more but while I was in the game I deff had him on the town side of things.
Sorry I had to replace out of this game, computer issues aka that awkward moment when you spill tea on your laptop like a *******.
More comments later, still reading all of this crazy late game/post game chat lol.
so let me emphasize again how this is my third time getting doctor (pizza, time travelers, here) and 4th time getting protective role (JoaT in touhou, not to mention my randomized JoaT in dr upick2) and i FINALLY protected the right person, only to have it redirected by kuz.
kuz how did your ability really work again? You redirected me night 2 onto yourself or something?
man, the only time I started to actually REALLY think you were town was when it was too late anyway:
That was the plan that I thought we like understood at the same time in secret so we could trick scum into trying to kill you just to have them ***********.
I had been thinking of not mentioning it, but figured I'd say it just in case. Before then, I had been constantly suspicious of you, though obviously not strongly enough to do anything about it.
kuz was a 1shot redirector, once per game during the night he could target someone and have any action they took target him. so when you doc'd acro, and kuz targeted you, you got redirected to kuz
Wow lol, good job scum!!! Kuz, KUZ!!!...I expect nothing less of you lol. Remember when I blatantly refused to put you at the top of my town read even though I had absolutely no reason to suspect you. This is why : P
The way Asdioh reacted to Sword putting in the fake indie jokes I think is an indy slip.
I think he feigned ignorance to not understanding what was going on and reacted as if he didn't realize what was going on with the indies because he's an indy himself. This is very telling for me because I have been in games with Asdioh before where he made joke fake claims for the fun of it. He's not unaccustomed to that type of shinanegans so I think his reaction is a tell.
The most common indy slip is the first person to talk about indies is usually indy. This isn't universal and scum obviously adapt to not slipping like this but its more likely than most other things.
This tell is more a specific Asdioh vibe than anything else but it has an element of that mixed in.
Acro did care a lot about this game and I was super, super happy he replaced me. I definitely liked what you brought to the game Acrostic, good job.
Hahaha its quite alright J, I remember D1 not only posting differently by not multiquoting but I also remember being hella rushed and having major issues with lynching any of TTK, Ryker, and Gova (Gova to a lesser extent) so that affected my play mentally because I wanted to push FM but had so little time.
So I'm pretty sorry I wasn't here to post during my lynch but I had a really bad eye infection that prevented me from pretty much being on the comp for any extended time which explains the tab open. Sorry all.
Other than that for my first game here on DGames I enjoyed it. All of you were pretty enjoyable to play with on D1 and I sure hope to be joining more games around here.
Ryker did exactly what he did in Megaman X, uggg, not fun trying to clean up a mess like that. I don't get why he tried to push any avenue to live when I know he skimmed the game just to live as a VT.
Also I lied initially about thinking I was gonna be shot, doing what I could to not get lynched, since I had a bad feeling my lynch would lose it for town. And it did.
