Smashfest over. To all those who say smash skill is lacking here, is wrong. Great thing is, I've improved slightly, but Josh hasn't. ^^

Oh, and Mic conveniently got locked in the toilet while Mat was dropping Kenton and Josh at the station. Funniest thing. I managed to find a key to get him out, just before Mat got home, and he didn't believe us.

According to MAt, it's physically imposable to be locked in that toilet, so either the space time continuem was ripped for a brief moment, or Mat is wrong.

Great smashfest, Bomberman was great, although you guys need to practise more. :)

That's got to proove something doesn't it?

"It never worked since I can remember"

But IT DID lock me in. What helps my case is this.

"none of us own bomberman, let alone a DS"

Didn't you say you bought advanced wars DS a few posts up? And if YOU didn't have a DS....why was there one in your house BEFORE anyone else got there?

If you can't remember having a DS, how are we suposed to believe it can't happen if you can't even remember anything longer than a day or 2? :)

geez, this topic is wierd...nobody new has a chance of understanding what is going on...

I was just popping my head in to check if anybody knows if there are any other active Queenslanders that have posted in here recently...I would check myself, but I would have to wade through all of the crap in here...:p
This is why the Queensland scene sucks, none of us ever get in contact. Dude, if you want a Queensland tourney i got da place.

Okay, Here's what we got here in the Gold Coast,

Well we've got at least 8 people here in the cosy area of Helensvale, (And areas surrounding...I live like Two minutes from Movie World he he) who play Smash alot

We got a function hall we could book out, and we could even advertise it in the local paper

But if you got some place better in Brisbane, that'd probably be better cause I don't know how much the function hall is to hire out.

Besides Heres 2 scripted scenarios with me and my dad at the dinner table

Scenario 1:

Me: Hey dad pass the salt?

Dad: Here you go

Me: So dad would you mind if me and my mates hosted a tournament for a game called Super Smash Brothers Melee in the rugby union Function hall across the road, we'll be inviting a whole bunch of people too

Dad: (Yells something about having my priorities in check, I zone out and eat my dinner)

Scenario 2:

Me: Hey Dad, pass the salt

Dad: Here you go

Me lying to my dad: So dad, the guys at school are planning to go to Brisbane, to go to a LAN this weekend

Dad: Why not just go to the one at South Port?

Me: Well because there's going to be at least 13 or 14 of us and the ones at South Port don't have more than 10 or so

Dad believing its a good idea because at least Im getting out of the house: Okay, shouldn't be a problem, but you can't be doing this all the time

Me: Yep *Nods vigourously to prove I believe him*

Peace out
You studying at UQ? Im going to study at QANTM, a two year major in Games Development and Multimedia, oh yeah you're reading the post of someone who's going to be working for either EA or Chrome (They did the TY the tasmanian tiger and King Arthur games)

Yeah, im doing a bachelor education major in english and drama. Im gonna start coming down to the coast fairly often now that my surfing buddy has come over from the states, so i'll let you know if im gonna go down and we can smash.

Well, if you can convince your dad to let you book out that hall then thats all cool but i imagine it would be expensive, i'd say it would be better to just have something casual at someones house to start with, at least then its all chilled out and it dosn't cost too much.

And What the **** is LANing ? I've been reading through this thread and everyone seems to be doing it? What is it? Call me ignorant or whatever but i really dont know.

Peace out

LAN = Local Area Network. It's effectively used for going to the same place, and playing PC games in close proximity to others so you can hear them yelling and screaming at you to stop while you own them.

Can't compare to the social side of smash though. At least people are sportsman like with smash. No one (respected) goes around shouting 'n00b! you suxor at this game! wtf? you moron! don't do that! you're making us lose!' .... etc

On a personal note, Woolworths inductions are boring -_-.

Training on tuesday though.

Oh my, could this be the beginning of the QLD smash scene!? Why, YEHS!!!!!!
Its no surprise that you guys are in Brisbane/Gold Coast but thats still closer than effing Melbourne. =P

If sometime in the future after a couple of casual meets or whatever you guys sorted a proper tourny out, i'll be on the plane. Seriously, Ive been so hot for hardcore smash its not funny. I finally bought a new controller (old ones are turbo banged) and lordy is it sex, y'know, how you press a button and it works... **** YEAH!

Failing that. I'll let someone know if im headed that way anytime so i can knee you in your fat head, all of your fat heads, oh god im getting goosebumps.

People who's entire social experiances comprise of LAN parties tend to piss me off. I mean I love lanning, and understand how competitive people can be but jesus, ITS A ****ING GAME! You know, game, fun, haha, wee i gotted shot, OH WELL! I dont mind people being competitive but guys who act as if there life depends on it just makes everyone else uncomfortable, plus you look like (and most likely are) a ****. Right, sorted, I'm done.

also DotA is :pimp:

I'm back!

I finally managed to get to the 'net. Thanks to CAO's uber director'ness I have the locations for SEAT and DC's house. I think I can make it with these directions, but some-one to travel with would be good, in case I get lost. I'll bring a cube, I definately want to spend a night over.

I PM'd shaz about working as a team, but i didn't get a reply to that, so I'll have to look for someone else.

I'll make sure that my :bowser: is hawt as anything.

And for Shaz, Karel >> Lyn.

Thank god for the library.

Mikul, Shaz doesnt have the net at his place. He goes online at certain times, like when he visits his folks' place, but he wouldn't have many opportunities to check his PM's, let alone Smashboards. Try ringing him or something.

Played smash with Shaz Cella and Em today, and it was incredibly fun. I havent played for about a month, so it was good to get the feel of it again.

Yeah, i'll beat them all then i'll take my $50 from you! But yeah, any queensland smashers interested in a mini QLD tourney? I'd say we'd get a fairly big turnout. NESSBOUNDER would probably be able to come and i'd set my place up all sweet cos we already ot 3 T.V's. No parents at all to worry about or anything (man it must suck to be 15 or 16 hah hah) but seriously i would give you guys advice right now, never move out of home cos buyin your own food and paying your own rent and shopping and cleanin for yourself all sucks. , i'm just surprised that no-one else in brisbane plays smash,

peace out

Brisbane's scene is fairly lacking right now - there's one good rep (the guy who just posted above you), but given some time they could muster up a decent community of Brissy Smashers. Well known players = Melbourne + Perth.

I've contacted Glothrenite about the tourney, and he's available 24/7 to get some Smash guests over to train and school it up for SEAT. He lives in Mulgrave near that monsterous intersection (Police/Princes/Springvale) so if anyone's up for some twaa, contact me and we'll arrange something wit him.

Aha! At last, a simple, brief and beautifully put together sentence that shuts down every whinging complaint of its kind. I couldn't have thought of a better way of saying it myself. Well done! In fact, I'm so impressed with its simplicity and message that I'm going to clap. *claps*

Seriously though, how many times have you seen people ask that kind of question over and over? Dont answer that. But yeah, again, well done!

Why not? We organised the first major Aus wide (IE had the melbourners over) when I was 17, which would make josh (the main organiser of it) 16......

YEah buddy, im a brisbanite (though my heart belongs in a little village just east of cairns)

I guess your friend is coming over for uni and then I guess he'd be going to UQ since that uni is like 50% people from overseas. Im doing a teaching degree there so it wouldnt be hard to meet up.

Anyways, i'll PM you

peace out
