because people dont like the name they have
It's not that they constantly change and don't tell people who they are, they want an alter-ego or to be looked at as a new player. It took me a while to figure out Cheers was 1der

I go online as alter egos fairly often myself. Sometimes I just want to play a relaxed game with a random guy when I'm bored, and that way I can play Kirby without coming off as pretentious. I don't understand people that try and make reputations with multiple personas though.

EDIT: Oh, and you have to PM an admin to get your username changed. I used to be Blackshadow69, but I PM'd McFox and gave him a justified reason, and it was no problem. I don't know if things have changed since the new premium membership came out, but if it has it'll just mean you'll have to pay for premium membership to get your name changed.

Multiple persona's can be amusing at times, but other than that somewhat silly at times

Oh and adding to the list of people online, maybe Shaya can still be counted (even though he plays brawl now ==") seeing that Shaya went on servers around a year ago if that still counts

Oh, an if you see any new players with 'Exc' as there connection type, and they play SSB, you can almost guarantee that it's Rom, haha.

But we all play with Excellent connection types, unless something's changed since I've been gone...

Also, Shaya has pretty much given up on 64, plays Brawl now and did OK at Rocky, he could have ***** harder if he wanted to. Though, I still disapprove of Brawl >: (

Yeah, we all play with Excellent connections...anyone with Good/LAN is obviously a newbie.

Brawl is a fun party game. Dedede is so fun to use against newbies. "I fight for my friends".

On another note, I recently upgraded to New Kaillera...I hate the interface so much...

To me it's getting a little worse. All the top rated players don't seem to be on much, so I can't challenge myself to them, and learn from them. Most of the regualrs inclusing myself are getting better, I can see that personally in myself being able to compete against 1 particular player who's always been above me since I can remeber.

I can't speak for others, but apart from play that particular player beating up noobs who use kb w/out short hop is pretty boring.

lol top rated. That's like...Kuro, Blackshadow, Judas and maybe Sweet and Brad. Everyone else seems to be doing better...and I don't know about any noobs who KB without knowing how to short hop.

Rom and I are back tomorrow, since I'm getting uncapped and...not sure about him, but he'll be back.

lol i got the better of brad a few times but then i finally realised he was playing with 7 frame delay :p i played him in p2p and then i realised how good he was, and judas is on more often than you think, he'll usually just come on then play p2p games with someone.

and theres more players around now which is good but still have a bit to learn,

and btw if your looking for a challenge go on the american galaxy 64 and ask if anyone wants to p2p, its 8 frame of delay which is noticeable but playable, i played sheer madness and got absolutely destroyed but it was good to see how he plays compared to us, i mean realistically when you look at the games we have we all play the characters pretty similarly, like when i played AA a while back i thought he was rom simply because of the samus and falcon

Yeh Kuro, judas, and SR are who I meant.

There are heaps of noobs with kb who don't short hop, like Acerimmer, vanimelda, OP & rose, Dark, there seem to be at least 1 new guy a day, lol. Still, I at least find them good to practise combos on, especially mario combos or pikachu wall combos. (Learnt to chain the uair's consistently in the **** tent, can hit 2 every jump and u can jump 4 times on a fox user, that was fun. No for Dk....)

Cheers is on a lot though which is good, I have heaps of good battles with his fox against my pika, and his mario, yoshi, and falcon are heaps fun to play against with anyone.

So those guys are noobs, huh? They wouldn't let me play, so I thought they were uber gods or something.

My Link vs 1der's Fox is always awesome. I think he hates it though...

Also, I'm not playing with 8 frame delay. I just can't do it. When I was in America I matched up pretty well to most of the randoms on EGX, but I haven't played anyone whose name I can recognise.

I played some more with 1der today, actually, and we had decent matches. His Fox is still awesome. I'll upload some if I can get them recorded.

OP and rose are pretty good, roses' pikachu is probably better than ciaza's when she plays proper, but still pikachu gets destroyed by jigglypuff :p

I've beaten rose's pikachu heaps.

moderate skills + good mindgames > good skill. That's for a start, but when I have even better skills it's not hard to ****, which I've done on her heaps on p2p. My pikachu is still the best - don't forget that :p.

Yah I played james which I assuming is blaze. It was fun, I don't mind delay too much and I love playing new people so I play south americans and europeans a lot too. So if any of you ever wanna play just let me know. :)

Round two of P2Ps with 1der.

1der is a fun guy to play against. Too bad he sticks to Fox...I don't really like playing most of the characters that can match up to Fox.
He doesn't really play fox unless it's p2p, so I guess he gets his fill when he can. I play whoever against whoever, if you win with a character disadvantage it's all the mroe rewarding.

@AA-critique

In the fox link match, there were basically 3 parts. Your first stock (which I ***** =D), your last stock (Which I also ***** =D), and the middle where you controlled the pace of the match and the positioning. The reason you controlled that section is because you contained my shine oos game. When I can't shine oos, I panic, and try to jump as soon as possible. You countered this by back airing my shield which led to several techchases. So what you need to do is look at how you pressured my shield this section and practice it. Lots of ffdairs, fairs, bairs.

Also as a basic critique, you u-tilt too much. I know it's a good move, but quite often you use it as your fall back move, when a jab or something would be better.

Lastly, ****, get at my shine cancels, running double lasers and pivot edgehogs.

I reckon its neat how some people like Sheer are willing to have a few games against the very isolated ssb64 community down under despite the nasty delay =D

Oh also, I'm somewhat intrigued on how many times I see the word '****' around ... I hope people do know that **** is not good at all! xP Is it common to use that word here? (not being critical people, just intriguing)

Whenever I record using the stereo mix option, nothing at all is recorded (this is with the volume turned on, I can actually hear the music coming out). All microphones, headsets, etc are unplugged, and the recording software is set to record at the best rate for my system.

So in short, I have no idea what the problem is. I'll be trying it on a friend's laptop soon, which might shed some light on the situation.

Cheers, I reckon it will be interesting to see some attempts to reflect Link's projectiles, it can really put some pressure on the Link player and the Link player may need to be strategic with projectile placement and spacing =|

Have you ever said "I'm gonna kill you" or "Oh I killed him" or whatever? Because it's the same thing (and I'd say killing is worse than ****).

I'm going to be honest Al, shine OOS should not work, especially when shields can get owned easily in this game and Link is a character with a disjointed hitbox. If you space Fair on a shielding Fox, shine OOS doesn't work, and can be punished soooo hard if they try it. I'd say that was your biggest downfall against 1der, although I only watched one of the Link vs Fox vids, so it might not be a trend.

OOS = out of shield

I tried playing with a NY smasher. 7 frames of delay and instant desynch :\

Maybe I'll try Cali smashers. I'm from Cali anyway, love the place.

It's probably because "****" entails more humiliation, while killing can still be done "respectfully". I've heard tell of people dying or getting killed for a cause (martyrdom), but I've never heard of anyone getting ***** for a cause. So in that sense, **** is a worse insult.

My friends commented on the liberal use of "****" as well, when I showed them the learning curve of all things.
