As you might have heard, a group of programers is involved right now in creating a program that will allow our community to implement an elo rating system by directly computing results from .tio files. If you don't know what elo is, you can read about it here. If you have questions about it, you can PM me. I don't know much about how the software works, but I know a lot about how elo works.

Anyways, this isn't a topic for me to explain it, this is a topic requesting the help of tournament organizers, players, or anybody else that can help for that matter. I have taken the liberty to be in charge of creating a back log of .tio files that we will use to get the ratings up and running. So this is what I need:

I need the .tio file for as many tournaments as I can get. As of right now elo will only affect Melee Singles tournaments, so no doubles, low tier, brawl, ect. If your .tio file has more than that, you can either replicate it to only have melee singles, or send it to me and I'll do it. I believe the current plan is to include pools in the ratings. If you didn't use tio for your tournament or don't have the .tio file any more, send me the bracket image and I'll make it myself.

Please send all .tio files or bracket/pool images to medes86@hotmail.com

Once I get enough .tio files, I'll start a list here of the tournaments we have already. Keep in mind, as of right now there is no date set as to how old a tournament can be, so please just send everything you have. We'll have more information in the coming weeks. If you can help, please do. Spread the word and tell others that might posses .tio files to share them as well. Large tournaments are an absolute priority! Thank you very much for your help and stay tuned for more information.

Thanks a lot for spearheading this, Zivilyn Bane!

I want to add that TOs should make sure that it is extremely clear who the entrants are. Like, if a top player in your region entered as something else (like Scorpion Master), change it to the player's actual tag.

I have these tio files from Michigan to offer:

RH2
SWEET I
SWEET II
SWEET III
SWEET IV
WGS
GSS
UMT1
UMT2
UMT3

Unfortunately two of the biggest events I held (WGS, GSS) used the bracket round robin hybrid format (see below if you don't know what I'm talking about), so I don't know how you want me to send you that.

Let me know. I'll email them to you when I get the files organized in terms of consistent entrant names, etc.

Those will work Juggleguy. I have an idea on how to make the hybrid brackets work. Just gotta make sure the software will be able to read it. So if any of the programers are reading this, lemme know if this will work:

Make a bracket and just complete the winners side. Then do three rounds of pools. Then a single elim bracket to finish up losers after the pools are over. If we don't know exact results from each match in the pools I can just give the 1st place player 3-0, 2nd 2-0, ect. Will that work?

Just wondering since it's fallen to the 2nd page, how's this project going?
Going well. I've been insanely busy the last couple of days (buying new car, new schedule at work, other johns, ect) so I'm only at about 30-40 tournaments in the archive. But I have more I just need to go through and also I'm recreating a few of them from bracket images that I've found.

If you have some please email 'em to me.

Hey, do you have the file from CEO 2011? Attendance was low, but I wanna be on the rankings lol. If not I'll ask DTorr if he has it.

Yes, I have it.

I would really like to get a hold of a massive amount of WC tournament .tio files. Anybody know where I could get 'em?
