Where does it exist in ground vs ground? Attacks clank when they both hit. Other examples of one attack "out-prioritizing" another seem to be based on range.

Could someone give an example of ground vs ground priority please?

I believe it was if an attack does 10 more damage than the other, then it will override it (the opponent's hitbox effectively vanishes). On the ground, strong attacks with poor range can beat weak attacks with good range. I'm not 100% sure of this, though, and don't have a reliable way to test it out (the hitbox cheat only works for one character). I have yet to see a jab clank with a fully charged DK punch though.

If two ground hitboxes collide, the stronger will out prioritize the weaker unless the damage is within 8%. In this case, they simply cancel each other out.

The same thing happens when ground attack collide with destructible projectiles.

IE

Mario's jab cancels out a fireball (resulting in hitlag)

Falcon's fsmash overpowers a fireball (resulting in no hitlag)

Projectile vs Projectile do not have this 8% difference and are usually move specific.

In ssb, the only transcendent hit-box is fox's laser which cannot collide with, clash with, cancel out, or be cancelled out by any other hitbox (however it can be reflected by ness' bball bat).

I tested this with Fox's dtilt, on PJ64 with player 1 and 2 having identical controls so that I know that attacks come out on the same frame (controlling both at the same time with one keyboard). When the Foxes were RIGHT NEXT to each other, they traded attacks and both received damage. When there was a bit of distance between them, the dtilts clanked. This makes me think that if two hitboxes of ground attacks collide before reaching the hurtboxes, they cancel if they are within a certain percent range. If they reach the hurtboxes first, attacks are traded.

I don't know what the percent range for attacks to clank is, though - I've always heard 10%, but IDK.

Its 8%. And when they were right on top of each other, both hitboxes must have hit the opposing hurtbox before the game registered them as overlapping. This resulted in a traded hit

Good call. Looks like editing that terms list isn't over yet...

Why am I still on here?

Yeah obviously since stale moves do less damage. Fresh Luigi up-smash does 19%, while a stale one does 15%.

What about PK Thunder 2, sliding across the ground? Or does the game not count that as a ground move?

I did not specify well enough.

I simply meant ground, not b, moves. Tilts, jab, dash, and smashes.

Luigi's upb, rest and pk thunder 2 have invincibility frames and can be used on the ground.

If you have another a move that has invincibility frames, please tell me and I will detract that statement. I could not think of any.

AFAIK I have not found a single ground A move that has at least one frame of full body invincibility. So you're correct in this regard.

Nope. Look at fireblasters thread.

it only seems invincible, because the hitbox (mario's head) almost completely protects mario's hurtbox. Going up against this attack from above make the move seem invincible because you are going against Mario's invincible head and cannot get below to his vulnerable legs. The hitbox extends so far out from his head and stays out for such a long time, the move just seems unbeatable in some regards.

Also, since it deals a lot of damage, other ground moves that come in contact with it will either lose to it (if more than 8%) or will clank with it (within 8%). Since mario's usmash does 19%, DK's punch is the only ground that can beat it if met head on. Lasers still work of course.

If the move is stale, samus' charged shot will beat it, but will clank with it if the usmash is fresh

is there anyone here that want to p2p that doesnt use the almighty sandbag excuse
i only use the sandbag excuse if either i really am sandbagging or im messing around with a noob.

p2p i can't say i'm sandbagging because it's p2p and there is not as much frame delay which means i can play at my fullest. :)

also, played dandan in p2p.

he's really fun to verse. 7 frames though lol.

sandbagging is either the excuse of saying you are not going your full potential or sandbagging is holding back in tournament matches so you aren't predicted.

to quote b link's amazing post in the NA Online teir list:

b link said:
sandbagger classification:

TRUE sandbagger - is ACTUALLY a good player, sometimes doesn't try as hard on servers, high delay, with friends or against weaker players. Characteristics are you'll be beating them through the match, and think WOW i'm doing something right, only to have them take you down in the end despite you being up 3-1. (e.g. sensei, tigerbombz)

ego-sandbagger - claims that they're sandbagging but are actually playing at their best, characteristics are they ask you 100x for rematches if they lose, and get mad when you leave if they haven't won yet (most people who play only on servers)

rock-bagger - never truly "sandbags", plays well all the time (e.g. from my experience, kabal, and maybe malva)

"NOT MY MAIN" sandbagger - says they are sandbagging everytime they're not using their main. pretty obvious to spot. they'll, for example, play link the first match, and then the 2nd match switch right to kirby/pika.

???sand???b?ag?ger - no one will ever know if this player is really sandbagging. their skill fluctuates like ichigo's reiatsu. tend to do a lot of random things in the match, unpredictable, but a weird unpredictable in that sometimes it seems like a mistake but you can't tell if its on purpose or not. mindgames? kinda... (e.g. denken, jaime)

Basically you have to be able to tell the difference between when people sandbag and when they don't since it is not clear. I will say two things from my experience: First, most people that claim to be sandbagging probably aren't good (the best players never even bring up the word), and second that most people online don't really sandbag off the bat against someone they haven't played before (try playing them with a fake username) from being scared that their reputation is at stake. whoa secret tippppp

Writing fast implies typo.

I think that's what he meant.

And lol at b link's quote. So true ^^.

I would add that a good way to say "I'm sandbagging" without saying it is taunting. People would do that so you assume they are sandbagging and therefore they don't need to say it loud (which would otherwise look like a john).

if you play someone online and try things you aren't comfortable using in a serious match, thus, not playing your best, is it considered sandbagging? i usually just call it practice.

I have this weird problem.

Recently when I try to join a server I technically connect, but I can't see the lobby. I have the tab FOR the lobby but clicking on it does nothing. I occasionally can temporarily fix it by re-extracting the p64k .zip but once I close p64k the problem arises again.

The problem is non-existent when using Mupen.

Has anyone encountered this before, or any ideas how to fix it?

Any help is much appreciated =/

No, I can't bring up the screen at all! If you look at the printscreen you can see me trying to click on the tab at the bottom to view the lobby but clicking on it does nothing >_>

Thanks 3mmanu3lrc =)
