As far as Veterans go, I'm really just waiting for the kids from Mother and Jiggly Puff.

My most wanted new comer list coming into this game was:

tbh, I (mostly) don't care which new characters get in, as characters I previously hated have been made quite appealing to me after seeing them ingame. Most of my wants are unconfirmed veterans, with Lucas topping the list because his confirmation would be the final nail in the coffin for the "expendable" characters being "expendable." (Toon Link, Wolf, Lucario, Lucas, and Ike. We have 3 out of 5 already)

I'm pretty pleased, as three of the characters I've wanted are in, and a lot of the others are very likely for Smash 5 (Impa, Dee). I'm still feeling a little down about Toad and Ganon though... they've been cheated. They are far more deserving than Rosalina and Ganondorf, respectively.
But I digress. I'm pretty lucky so far.

And those I really didn't want / like made it for the most part (Palutena, Rosalina, Little Mac, Villager, Mii, etc...), and those who are likely to make it (Gematsu Leak) do not appeal to me at all.
