There is an article about Smash up on Major League Gamings website, you can view it by clicking here!

I'll be writing another article soon covering Apex, mainly focusing on Brawl but also on Melee (probably 60-40 maybe 70-30 not really sure yet). Suggestions in the comments are welcome!

I think you should make it equally about Brawl/ Melee. But *like* either way.

uhh honestly melee would probably give the series a better image overall in terms of a competitive fighter

MLG takes in account the age of the games, and their popularity. In one of the vVv Gaming's interview, Mr Sundance said (Or something along these lines) that: "Counter Strike is amazing, but it's just too old". I think that's what happens with Melee & MLG.

For example, in the Halo community almost everyone prefers Halo 2 (Or even Halo 1) over Halo 3 or Reach, but Reach is on the Pro Circuit because it's the new game. More people, more popular, etc.

But who knows what MLG will do in 2012? No one. So show a good feedback smashers! MLG is full of surprises... Which means, don't bash the games

I think part of the newer game thing is that the companies behind said series would be more likely to sponsor/support their latest product, and considering how much money is spent on all of MLG's hardware, locations, and production value, it only makes sense to maximize sponsorship and official support. I suppose in that sense, Melee and Brawl's competitive scenes have the dubious honor of being officially supported an equal amount by Nintendo.

Exactly.

And on the bold part, brilliant and exactly! I didn't think about it that way...

So yeah, show positive feedback Smashers! Share it on Twitter and your Facebook walls, Like it, RT the tweets of whoever tweets about it, tell your friends to check it out (Smashers and Non-Smash players). MLG cares a lot about Smash, so promote it the most you can!!!

Good luck with the article AZ, looking forward to it. I also think it should be 50/50 Melee/Brawl. In response to the previous arguments in this thread -- Melee's old age disadvantage should be more than made up for by its superior image over Brawl in the eyes of other fighting game communities. But hey, any Smash article on MLG's website is better than none at all.

No offense to MLG but they don't really care about the image of the fighting game community, just whichever is more profitable (I'm going to assume)

Although Brawl's popularity (or lack thereof) has actually increased the popularity of Melee within the fighting game community i've noticed because before traditional fighting game players thought Melee was bad but now that they've actually seen a game that "really is bad" they appreciate Melee more.

I'm speaking objectively, mind you, I like Brawl, these are just my observations and in no way fact
