I ask out of the sole fact I am way to poor to afford Rossetta Stone, the German for Idiots book is $25, which I may get - I skimmed over it at Barnes and Nobles. It helped me learn a few words and basic grammar - things to avoid saying, and what to say in place and such... but I still feel the BEST way to learn a language is to be around those who speak it - and are able to communicate with you in English.
When you only know the extreme basics (probably worse then a 6 year old) it really helps to have someone (you can attempt) to speak to in German, and hold conversations in German - and have them fix your mistakes.
So out of this, who wants to be my German buddy? :3 There is no gain on your side except for being ****ing awesome.... unless you have as poor English as I have German, in which case you probably won't understand most of this. D=
