Anyone else notice a pattern with the new challenger updates?

I mean that I had seen all of their movesets before and it was boring at first. I know they play different first hand. I'm a Falco, Link, and Ganondorf main but I cannot play as any of their counterparts to save my life.

Fair enough, but similar movesets doesn't mean they "play exactly the same way," which is what you had said. I was just clarifying. I play Falco and Doc and not Fox and Mario, but I can play Falcon/Dorf and Link/Y.Link interchangeably just fine. Plus it seems you liked the clone characters better anyway.

And how the hell will only Monday decide it? There will be appromity be 20 updates on December. Who's to say the newcomer won't come until Tuesday? Or Friday.

you should go back read the earlier pages of this thread... they already talked about those characters and how they dont count because they had no "new challenger banner" and/or were revealed earlier in the trailer.

and personally i think Krystal would be amazing in brawl.. and dec.3 is the perfect day for it!
nice find on the pattern, definately looks plausible and has yet to be disproved in any way.

There is no numerical pattern. All he's doing is releasing characters based on who's hidden or not. He's only releasing starters and third parties, which is why there has been such a long drought. There are probably only a couple more of those.

Anyway, I HOPE for a vet this month but I doubt it. Probably next month with that whole starting roster to be revealed on the 15th.

hmm...Not a bad theory, but I wonder what it means for the final roster size. I find it funny that we haven't gotten any characters at all in November (but we do have one more week). Now I'm starting to think that it might have something to do with who is or isn't unlockable. I'm not sure if your theory is correct, but if it IS correct, I'm guessing he's going to release all of the secrets before the release.

If your theory is correct then I'm worried that we may have already seen some of secrets already (besides Sonic and Snake) and that we may not be getting a large roster. I'll tell you why: If 3 more newcomers are revealed, some of them must be unlockables. I think the current roster has a great chance of being mostly starters, but if we got 3 more it seems more likely that he has already been unveiling the secrets. That means only a few more vets and 3 more newcomers (unless he continues to reveal secret characters after the release).

I'd prefer that this huge gap in between characters simply means that he has ran out of starters and he won't reveal most unlockables until right before or after the release (which would hint at an overall larger roster).

Ok. I don't know if this has been brought up within tha past 14 pages, so I'll say it myself:

December 3rd was NORTH AMERICA's release date.
Not Japan's.
Not UK or Ireland's.
Not Germany's.
Not France's.
Not Spain's.
Not Italy's.

It WAS the release date of Canada, and the US.

As we all know, every single language or country gets the same update that we do, with a little tweaks here and there.

Why would December 3rd be a special update because it WAS OUR release date? It wasn't the realease date for the other SIX languages, so why would they get a special update directed at Canada and the US?


Monday's update won't be anything extraordinary, so don't get your hopes up.

Hehe, why havn't you people figured it out by now? It's been so many months, and we've never had a real pattern, so linking coincidences won't help. The only thing you can tell is that Sakurai needs to stretch things out due to the delay. :O

Though I'm not a supporter, the root theory could still be true. We could still get 3 newcomers in December, but I highly doubt it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sakurai's only "order" is revealing things that he wants to reveal. He's revealing mostly things that we'll have from the beginning. The delay and unlockables explain this character drought.
