so the other day it hit me that bairs can be platform cancelled, which means the bair itself must propel snake up (and it does - he "lies down" in the air higher up than where his feet were prior to the bair).

say you're up-b'ing to recover and you're sliding on the stage as you elevate. this is a treacherous situation for a snake - c4 jump or airdodging are his only options - c4 inflicts damage and at high percent requires a tech, while airdodging can be punished

now instead of doing either of these, bair as you rise up. DI towards the stage during the bair so that the bair's landing animation is played pretty much instantly. there will still be a hitbox which is great for people waiting on-stage to grab gimp you, and it pretty much teleports you from about a foot below the edge to actually on the stage. much more effective than either of the aforementioned techniques.

:)

I also use bair if I'm barely not going to make it with a cypher. This is extremely useful on stages such as delfino where you are coming from below and you have to get your whole body up above the floor or you'll fall through. If you are barely not going to make it normally, you can bair to get on instead of c4 dropping. It saves you 17% and can catch your opponents off gaurd if they don't know about it.

It will have landing lag if you're doing it to avoid getting grabbed, but chances are, if they're trying to grab you out of your cypher they will not have time to react and get their shield up. Then it won't matter if you have landing lag or not cause you hit them away.

how is this in any way an at then? Or a useful one at that?
Read it again, it can POSSIBLY save you from a cypher grab, or it can pop you up that extra inch onto the stage and hit whoever is by the ledge. Saves you from C4ing yourself and is a good mix up.

yeah word my bad if it isn't new; i'm just trying to help out as i make my return to brawl lol. but umm i do think this is a pretty good option as opposed to c4 jumping which not only does about 15-20%, it give them time to punish. try to avoid sliding up the stage to recover anyway, lol.

anyone going to cot4?
