This is so much fun. And even better that 1.2 was released a day before my birthday.

new update ?
Yep. "Cosmetic updates," some other texture fixes, song title corrections, stock icon replacements also.Hmm? 1.21?
Well happy birthday, then! This is so much fun. And even better that 1.2 was released a day before my birthday.
These are good suggestions, I'll definitely consider them. But at this point I'd most likely be replacing them over more vanilla costumes, which is something I hesitate to do. Also characters like Giygas won't qualify because they're completely different than the original. We'll see about some of the others, though. This is some great stuff, you know. Btw, there are some suggestions regarding costumes I'd like to make:
How about including a Masked Dedede costume? This one to be exact:

Another one would be Shadow Dedede, this one:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=206218
This is Robot Ness, from the final battle of Earthbound:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=207089
I'm really surprised regular Mega Lucario isn't in this game:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=206187
The same could be said about Mega Mewtwo Y:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=35253
Also, here's Giygas from Earthbound Beginnings, a costume for Mewtwo:

This is all I have to comment.
Thanks for your feedback! Well I must say, I think Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire's Petalburg City music is a great match for Saffron City, and it happens to be one of my favorite town tracks from the Pokemon series. Also the Mewtwo theme that was used in the Mewtwo Project M reveal trailer is gonna stay, too. This is by far my favorite custom build, I have few request though. First off would you be willing to add a different song over Sliph C and Mewtwo's Stadium? I love the stages, but the songs aren't the best match up aside from them being Pokemon songs. Second, if you could expand the stage list even further, that'd be amazing!!
ORAS's version is nice and all, but I'm just gonna leave this here...Well I must say, I think Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire's Petalburg City music is a great match for Saffron City, and it happens to be one of my favorite town tracks from the Pokemon series.
No, No, and NO!THIS PACK IS THE BEST! I'd be awesome if they fixed isaac and lynn (PSA) and add knuckles! BOOM! and then add bomberman!!! lol
One more quick thing, would you be willing to swap Mario Maker Mario to a different slot so we have access to Fire Mario again? And personally, I don't care if the stages work like that in random select, I just like having a wide variety of stages, but I respect your opinion as much as I'd love for the each stage to have like 5 different alt versions. As for music, I like really pumped up songs and I'd say 80% of your build lives up to that, but I'd really like to hear more of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK0xyRL1A-k and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G5HIJkkxU0 and less of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdJnZWnTaVw. I really appreciate your work and response time.Well happy birthday, then!

As far as expanding the number of stages further, I could do that, however you could no longer toggle whether or not they appear in random stage selection or not. They'd just be on all the time. With the method I use, 12 additional stage slots is all you get with also getting to toggle in RSS.
PS. Speaking of music, I just made a preview video for most of the tracks in Legacy M! Enjoy!
That is beautiful! I like it just as much as the ORAS version, though. So not enough to convince me. Also it seems shorter? Maybe it's not.ORAS's version is nice and all, but I'm just gonna leave this here...
Haha thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think so.Hey if we are doing music suggestions I got one.
I added this special theme to Pokemon Stadium 2.
And for the original Pokemon Stadium?
The original Gotta Catch them All theme. Can't have one without the other.
Thanks! And like ??Sanic Hedgehog?? said, unfortunately that's going to have to be a "no" for now...THIS PACK IS THE BEST! I'd be awesome if they fixed isaac and lynn (PSA) and add knuckles! BOOM! and then add bomberman!!! lol
Here's the thing with the Mario costumes. I only have two choices pretty much, because I can't replace a Dr. Mario costume, and I don't want to change any of Mario's team colors, which leaves only the two costumes I'm already replacing. One more quick thing, would you be willing to swap Mario Maker Mario to a different slot so we have access to Fire Mario again? It totally is called cool, cool mountain... man I made SO many mistakes in these track names LOL!believe it's called cool, cool mountain, not snow mountain btw.
Nah you're totally fine! Legacy is basically a mod of PM that brings additional skins, stages, music, and menus to the game. But tournament-legal stages are untouched, as are the PM 3.6 mechanics and movesets. It's meant to be a tournament-viable alternative to PM 3.6.Sorry if I sound ignorant, but is Legacy a rework of Project M? or is it like a build that offers different skins? Or is it its own entity?
All right. Because I played a build of it with my friends a few weeks ago, and it seemed like it was just that. It changes no part of the regular 3.6 mechanics at all?It totally is called cool, cool mountain... man I made SO many mistakes in these track names LOL!

I don't think that's correct, actually. IIRC the code is made to load the default stage if the alt is missing, and load the default rel if the rel is missing, so you wouldn't have to include alts for all of them. But because how it's coded, if I were to make 3 alts for one expansion stage, I would need to make 3 alts for the other ones as well or it would crash. And right now, file size is a problem. So until I figure out what to do about that, I'll have to hold off on it.
I think that's correct. The .gct codes are vital! So I've been trying to build the ISO using Wiimms famous ISO tools to extract the Brawl files, replace them with Legacy files, then try to build the iso again. But when loading the new ISO into Dolphin I don't get past the intro without seeing errors like these pop up and crash the emulator.
I imagine because the gct codes aren't loaded maybe that could be the cause of the crash.
Regardless this is the furthest I've gotten and I don't imagine myself getting any farther.
You can find the tools and information on patching here.

Ok so I manage to force Dolphin to use the GCT codes by converting the GCT file to txt and putting it into the Brawl.ini gecko file. This should make the Legacy GCT file work with my current ISO of Legacy. Everything should work.I think that's correct. The .gct codes are vital!
Its a Project M Thing. Tournament Mode Crashes so it takes you back to Rotation so it won't freeze. Will regular tournament mode ever be available? Right now whenever you go to Tounament, it goes to the rotation instead of tournament.
I'm sure it does as long you aren't using a PAL Disk, NTSC Disks only.Does this work on a softmodded PAL Wii? I have both PAL and NTSC Brawl disks.
I'm currently playing PM 3.5 built with an ISO builder, loaded with USB Loader from my HDD>
Hmm I tried it with my NTSC disk on my PAL Wii.I'm sure it does as long you aren't using a PAL Disk, NTSC Disks only.
You see, davidvkimball isn't adding Moveset Swaps. Two things, would you be willing to remove the Splatoon costumes? No one I've played with has liked them, including myself. The stage isn't all that great either to be completely honest. Also would you be willing to make this compatible with Ridley? That would be incredibly awesome!! :D

That's fine, I'm not asking him to, but cbliss makes the game crash due to the fact that pit has extras costumes instead of the basic set. It's not that big of a deal if he can't, but as for the Splatoon costumes and stage...You see, davidvkimball isn't adding Moveset Swaps.
Can you elaborate on the game crashing due to cBliss with Pit?That's fine, I'm not asking him to, but cbliss makes the game crash due to the fact that pit has extras costumes instead of the basic set. It's not that big of a deal if he can't, but as for the Splatoon costumes and stage...
I'm honestly not very savvy when it comes to this stuff other than putting builds on my sd card so...Can you elaborate on the game crashing due to cBliss with Pit?
I'm looking into using BrawlEx instead of cBliss, as a BrawlEx + ASL is in the works, so look forward to that.
And as far as the Splatoon stuff, I getcha. Thanks for sharing your opinion, I don't mind changing some stuff around if enough people feel a certain way about it.
Also, update to the main post, got the ACTUAL portraits in the preview (finally). Oh, how good the weekends are to me!
I partially agree with this. Two things, would you be willing to remove the Splatoon costumes? No one I've played with has liked them, including myself. Great!I'm honestly not very savvy when it comes to this stuff other than putting builds on my sd card so...
But I think it has something to do with there being more costumes than normal because it doesn't freeze unless you use certain costumes, same goes for http://smashboards.com/threads/proj...e-asking-questions-or-making-requests.417563/
That's the only thing I can think of, wish I could be of more help and once again I thank you for all your work on this amazing build and I look forward to future updates!
Thank you for this incredibly in-depth feedback. I didn't know a person could put this amount of effort in suggestions for my humble project, it seems to mean that you care about it a lot which makes me hyped.Phenomenal project, I think it really has the potential to become the definintive custom build with a few tweaks. It's really polished, and the stage selection is superb.
I partially agree with this.
I really like the Splatoon costume Mario has, and feel he should keep it since it really fits the character considering the Mario Sunshine x Splatoon parallels people have drawn. And considering Falcon has an Excite Biker costume, Mario drawing reference to Splatoon is fine imo.
Likewise, I like the Saltspray Rig stage, and considering we have a B-K stage, a KH stage, and a Castlevania stage, I think having a Splatoon Stage is fitting as well.
That being said, the rest of the Splatoon costumes should go (especially Link's) since they're not fitting for the characters at all.
If I may make a few suggestions, I feel these costumes should be replaced:
and if possible, some of these costumes should be added:
-Shadow Mario for
-Metal Mario for
-Demise for (they ARE the same personm same as SS Zelda and TP Zelda are the same)
-Mega Lucario for
-Mega Mewtwo Y for
-Dark Samus for
-Hyrule Sonic for
-Pikmin Falcon for
-Twilight Sheik for
-Mario Costume Peach for
-Magic Armor Link for
-Zora Tunic Link for
-Metal Sanic KAI for
-Classic Sonic for
-Metal Sonic for
-Ninten for
-Quickdraw Dedede for
You can find most of these in Arko's PM 3.5 custom build, but they're also on KCMM. Here's a Link to Arko's video where you can see all these in action:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unixWmmfBhw
Other worthwhile mentions not on Arko's list:
White Queen for
Black Mage Zelda for
SF64 Wolf for
Saiyan Armor Wolf for
America Falco for
But they're merely suggestions to replace some of the costumes that are a bit... meh. Wii Fit Suit Samus for example could replace OM ZSS as well, etc...
A few final things:
- First, how about changing the Logo in the title from Smash Bros. Legacy M 3.6 (which is really confusing) to just: Super Smash Bros. Project M Legacy (or Legacy Collection), and just putting the version number down at the bottom where it doesn't intrude. 3.6 is the final official version of PM anyway, so it's assumed that any and all custom builds from here on will go off of 3.6. But having PM in the title might help people understand what this actually is.
- Second, I really like the polish and flair you've given the character select screens and such, but I'm not much a fan of the Orange tint you've given everything. I really like the classic purple color that's associated with PM. To avoid being selfish and saying you change it back (since I'm sure some people might like the orange), how about releasing multiple versions? One with the classic background, and one with the orange background?
- Finally, on that topic, since you really wanna have a tourney viable build, but also get many requests for more custom content (some of which I do believe deserves some attention). How about releasing a finalized tourney build, and then non-tourney custom builds with custom characters or which allow people to add their own characters? For example, there are many custom characters out there that deserve recognition and would be nice to have on a build (like Bagan's Ridley, Pyotr's Bomberman, and BGG's Ganondorf), and with BrawlEX+ASI being a thing now, it's certainly possible. Ofc these would never be tourney viable, even if balanced, but many people (like myself) only play with friends, and it's a hassle to add more characters to these custom builds (don't even get me started on the nightmare I've been having merging this with the leaked Dev Build). So, perhaps creating a build with empty character slots or the like for non-tourney play could be an option (?).
