An awesome way to approach, lol.

I don't know if anyone has "discovered" it, but it's really cool. I call it MGA (Mortar Grenade Approach)

So, here we go:

1- Press B to pull out a grenade
2- Shield Drop and catch it ASAP
3- Jump BACKWARDS and, while moving back, drop the grenade by pressing Z
4- Dash Attack towards the grenade and after you get it, cancel the Dash Attack with a Mortar Slide
5- Shield ASAP after you finish the Mortar Slide animation. The grenade will explode right afterwards if done correctly, and the missile will come down right after.

I've approached before by doing something similar. I sometimes come running at my opponent with a grenade in hand. They think I'm an idiot for running straight that them, so they counter, but I shield and they go BOOM!

A cool idea, Im always looking for new ways to cook my grenades. Unfortunatly it's rather situational, the people I play with pressure me too much to be able to do this on the fly

I actually managed to use it in a real match, the opponent couldn't jump off the legde because of the mortar and the grenade hit him while he was waiting for the mortar to come down

It's already been discovered, and I'm late I'm guessing haha.

I do almost exactly what you do, but I actually drop the grenade, roll behing it and then Mortar Slide.

Works like a charm. ;]

ive done this before, its pretty cool, but i didnt do it purposely i did it on accident, so it was kindof a surprise, lol

I actually have been doing this for quite awhile, but I do it a bit differently. What I do is drop the nade, roll back, mortar slide into nade (causes me to grab it), then right after the slide I do a SHAD. This creates 2 explosions in 2 different places simultaniously, and you get the invincability frames from the SHAD. This is especially effective when you can catch the opponent between both explosions.

I've been doing something like this too. One thing I like to do is to grab a grenade and run straight at my opponent. A lot of the time they shield to protect from the grenade leaving them wide open for a c4 stick.
