Doors will probably be open 11:30 for the 20th. I'm not sure when Vic wants to start, but normally doubles are first, with singles going from 3-9 or so? That's from the Brawl side... depending on how many people there are for Melee, I could see it ending fairly early.

We've got a Melee tournament being hosted on the 20th on U of A campus, and you should definitely try to make it out to meet everyone, etc. etc. More details are in this thread. There's Brawl too if you're into that.

glad to hear you play melee (and starcraft I assume?)


I play on my 46'' screen all the time with no problems. Although, generally with larger screens comes more lag, the lag can be so small it doesnt affect too much.
Melee players will always hate on TV lag though.

2 millisecond response doesnt bother me.

8 milliseconds would, however.

Back at my first tournament, I found myself missing a lot of my advanced techs. Not JCing shines like I should, missing wavedashes and all the such. I figure it was because I was playing on a LCD big screen TV at home for the past couple months. After that tournament, I went back to playing on a small CRT and my techskill didn't faulter as much in the next tournament (although I still did pretty bad).
