Did you walk in and **** them

And yeah apparently UNICEF was all like "we're gunna host an SC2 tournament at U of C on Wednesday (tomorrow) regardless of what you guys say"

The VGC also gave out coupons for a free hour of gaming at some LAN party place called "the node"

I might go if I can find other people, otherwise I'll give it to someone

i think theres 2 a year, and its the video gaming club.

And last time I went it was only Brawl.

The rules were ok, 3 stocks, only FD, 1 game. I didn't get a chance to play in singles.

in doubles, it was ok too, but TA was off...

I don't think official rules will finish on time. They're hosting on a school day, so the tournament probably can't start earlier than 4ish (and will probably start at 5 or 6); not many people are willing to stay later than 10 and it would compromise the tournament. So, at best, that gives 6 hours for the tournament. Last time, there were 4 TVs set up, though one was only for friendlies; I'll assume there are 8 TVs all devoted to the tournament just for the example. For Brawl, attendance last time was around 30 people, I'll assume the number will stay the same, match that number for Melee and half it for 64 (though attendance for Melee and 64 are total guesses, especially 64). That means around 75 people in total. Even with only singles tournaments, I don't think doing official rules will make the tourney finish in time. However, there are no pools, which will probably speed up the tourney considerably. However, I believe the VGC is also trying to host doubles (which was there last time) and a casual tournament (which Arthur said). I don't have experience hosting, but i don't think that will be sufficient time to finish everything; however, I've never hosted so I might not have any idea what I'm talking about. Could someone with experience (Maiko?) give their input? That is, if they survive this wall of text.

TL; DR

8 TVs, 75 people, all three games, 6 hours, will it finish? (assuming singles and doubles for all games)

In a 32-man double elimination bracket, there will be up to 63 matches. Each match needs 25 minutes, so if we gave Brawl 4 TVs, and had all four running at the same time, we could come close to 6.5 hours. In reality, not every match will take 25 minutes, so I think it's doable with 3 TVs for Brawl, 3 TVs for Melee, 1 TV split Brawl/Melee (skewed towards Brawl), 1 TV for 64, with TVs being reallocated as we progress towards the end of the brackets. That's assuming 32, 32 and 16-man brackets respectively, all double elimination. The 64 players will have to put up with a very very slow bracket though.

If we do single elimination though for all games, I'm fairly sure we can fit in a doubles event for all three games too.

But since we're relying on not every match taking the full time, there's no guarantees, which is always scary to a TO.

I like the regular dash grab for marth, looks like he's REALLY trying to grab them. With the JC grab it just looks like he's doing a lazy "cmon, get in my hand" thing.
