There was no Melee tournament cause there were only 2 Melee players, but there were like 15 Brawl players and they had a tournament and I joined anyways. There wasn't a prize, it was just a tournament for fun.

Yeah, a lot of them are actually pretty good. The one I fought in the second tournament called HIV+ or something played a really good Wario, I didn't know that mouth's range was so ridiculous

I'd say there are almost as many competitive Brawl players as there are Melee players

there was even some random girl who played Zelda in the tournament and beat Paul lol

but Melee players have been playing for longer and they still do better at Brawl than Brawl players do at Melee

The reason for this is because of the technical aspect of the game. You can't just get into it and know how to L Cancel from the get-go.
