Sometimes when people ask to join and I don't recognize their name, I always wonder if they think our group is about drinking lol

Like 7 years ago I had a "Smash or get Smashed" party.

Everytime you won a match you had to take a drink. Basically it was just me drinking because all my friends that showed up sucked lol. They even brought out smash 64 to try with that, but I still could beat them at 64 even drunk.

The idea was that eventually they would be able to win LOL.

too bad you could never do that with carl since he would get exponentially stronger with every drink

Anyone down to raise more skrilla at my place this weekend, Melee at EVO would be so awesome for the smash scene and bring melee back to the forefront of the FGC community.

Arthur, you need to mixup delaying your aerials.

Your approach is Laser into SHFFL Nair, so if they keep shielding after the laser, you should delay the nair so it hits their shield right before you land. Then you cannot be punished out of shield. Trust me, with Sheik I could Nair out of shield your falco approach for days.

The reason you want to Nair quickly like that is for when your opponent starts attacking you between your laser and your late nair. That's why you need to change it up. I think a big problem is that you almost always approach with laser to Nair, but just delaying your nair sometimes at least may throw off your opponents enough.

If you always do your Nairs and lasers at the same Rythm, people catch on fast.

You are 100% right. I always remember to delay my aerials vs Puff, but I sometimes just forget about these options versus other characters, such as shine-grab and light-shield vs Marth. When I look back at it (obviously), I knew what mixups I missed and should have used.

Sheik is one character that I do remember to delay my aerials against; I think it's mainly characters that can 15 hit combo me and makes me go desperate and start playing autopilot which makes me forget about all of Falco's mixups that he has

Arthur doesn't know how Falco shield pressure works yet?
I don't really like shield pressuring. I think it's unsafe, and it doesn't really put me in a very good situation. I would much rather shine-grab and get an f-throw or b-throw, which gives positioning that I really like.

not wanting to apply shield pressure is dumb

you want to punish them for shielding, not backing out and being predictable with grabs

edit: i think i'm being trolled

Arthur why were you shine grabbing when you'd land the dair?
It's a habit from playing against spacies, cause if you shine grab a spacie and your shine hits, there's still enough hitstun to combo after your grab whiffs

I could do doubleshine to double hit f-air but if they buffer roll away then I'm in a bad position cause I'm still in the air from my aerial but they are free to do anything

ah

well i'm not one to force a certain playstyle down someone's throat

but "I don't really like shield pressuring. I think it's unsafe, and it doesn't really put me in a very good situation." i certainly do not agree with. falcos want their opponents to shield. the only reason it would be unsafe is when you don't make it safe, and that is where the real mixups/mind reads come into play.
