As for the challenges listed in the second post of the thread, I think Orry and Tri should be replaced by Phillip and John and it should be Team JC, not Wasilla.

me ean james cho and kira are helping out with senshicon gamecon arctic attack as well as an ultimate smash tournament that lasts the entire day. also me and matt+ are trying to get biweeklies going. dont think ur the only one doing **** cuz ur not, hows about u get ur *** off the grass and start doing something for reals, cuz so far you've reallyprovided this community with... nothing, no place to smash, to rides, didnt even buy us taco bell or contribute to gas money. lastly venue fees? ha, i lold

Okay, so are we smashing before or after bowling? And if so, where?

[EDIT] Some smashers expressed an interest in helping with Senshi-Con. What I need tournament-wise is for people to help out at the tio station when I have to go play a match or go find somebody (I would prefer smashers in the community, not some inexperienced n00bs because they will **** up the tio brackets...lol), queue up matches on the projector/monitor, and make sure that all scheduled matches are being played out rather than friendlies on those tvs. I've got everything all set up as far as rules and organization, so the help I'll need will be stuff that's actually on con day. And of course, bringing setups. I'll talk to the people at the staff meeting Saturday and see if we can work out some kind of incentive for people who bring stuff.

Fang and Che will be doing commentary for Brawl finals at the stage.

Is that what the PnT tourneys are supposed to be? As far as the venue fee goes, that's just how tournaments in the real world are held, haven't you ever been to one? I haven't but I've done my research. Looking forward to TourneyPlay 4 too. And lastly, you didn't even answer my question. >.>

Tournaments in SoCal (and I assume other regions) DO have venue fees, but usually only if they are held in an actual venue, in which case the venue fee goes toward actually paying off the location. Some tournament hosts are greedy and want to take money from people for having a tourney at their parents' house, in which case people have tended to avoid their tournaments. :x I guess a $1-$2 venue fee if they have to pay for electricity or something might be warranted, but if anyone's paying $5+ for venue fee alone it better be a REALLY nice venue.

I realize it's hard in Alaska because we simply wouldn't have enough attendees to make up the cost of renting out a facility, which is unfortunate. I do wish I could do tournaments with cash prizes and nice systems but anywhere you go it costs hundreds of dollars to rent and people won't want to pay all that if they feel like they're just going to be giving their money to Derek/Arthur/Che/whatever top players go.

Yeah, I understand that and didn't intend any dissing on any of the PnT tourneys. I mean they're nice to have. What if the venue fee was cut to $5 and the tourney was $10 each? Bigger payout and maybe a payout down to 4th/5th place too. ;D
