I don't know the results of the other tournaments like say, Street d00ds and Marvel vs. d00ds 3, for instance because I didn't stay long enough. Oh well. On the other hand, it's not like you would be able to check Alaska Gamers for the results at the moment at least. I don't suppose there' enough interest, either.
Anyway. I guess.
Super Smash doods Brawl.
Entry was 5. 10 venue. So if you were just going enter to just for Brawl it would be 15.
1. The Mediocre Lovedrive- Snack won $24. I actually lost one dollar overall. For the venue fee I gave the guy a $20 and he didn't give me a ten back. He just sat there. Or was occupied with something. So professional. SO. OH WELL. I lost money at last Senshi-Con as well, so hmmmm. Maybe I shoulda entered the Mario Time trials to buffer it up. And Marvel, actually. Seeing as how the skill of a great many people in the tournament was kinda, uh, underwhelming. Then again, I couldn't no matter what. HHHHRRRRMMMMM.
2. Adrian- Olimar, Falco, King Dedede, Pit, and Fox. Those were the characters he used just against ME. He used ALL OF THOSE GUYS. Hmmm. Also might have used Metaknight. I don't remember that well. Everything is like, totallers in a Purple Murple Haze right now. And I'm reasonably sure he played Malco in every other match against other d00ds. won $12 My d00d this guy threw EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK AT ME. I knew something was up when he went Dedede. Then PIT and FOX. lol. Best Grand Finals ever. Win through Grenade STAGE SPIKE. That shoulda been recorded.
3. Kira- Game&d00d won $4

It's been going on for some time. I just like NOW found out about it thanks to the "most recent post thing."
By gourd, I should check things more often. I could be missing out on some good stuff.
I haven't really watched like any videos of it or anything because well, I'm downloading everything right now. It looks kinda random and haphazard as you'd expect, I guess. But hey. It could be cool. But man. I HOPE you can turn of those Final Smashes. Seriously. That was like the worst case nightmare in dreamland scenario for the next smash that I was thinking could happen. A Final Smash gauge that you can't remove. A scary thought, most def.

It would be awesome if we could have smashfests like we had in late 09/early 2010.
I would definitely go, I'm even moving into my dorm tomorrow so I'll be closer, although I'll have to ride a bus/get a ride.

Congratulations on the dorm move, Matt+ (I'm assuming that's something you're excited for)
Anyways, I think we should definitely do it. Everyone seems to be on civil terms or better with everyone else, compared to like when we stopped having regular fests.
On another note, I think we should encourage people who enjoy playing brawl to play it, and include it at smashfests. I mean, it may have seemed like I dogg/condescend on brawl a lot, but I just prefer melee over it. If people want to play it, that's good for the community.
I'll have a lot more free time now that school is starting, since I won't be working through it, so hopefully I can manage to get enough people interested to do something. On an unrelated note, thanks to a recent fest at Ean's, I have officially made falcon my main; although I am still horrified of James' sheik while playing him. (Fake Matt has been trying to help me cross this bridge)
On yet another unrelated note, I know a bunch of you play League of Legends, or have some RTS experience, and it would be really great if we could get a community together for DotA 2. DotA1 is probably my favorite multiplayer game aside from melee. Arthur I know you've never really played any computer games, (to my knowledge) but you should check this out, I think you would appreciate it. (also why is it that you don't play any computer games??)

StarCraft. I dig StarCraft's graphics a lot. Like, a whole lot. I like Command and Conquer's graphics better, however. Yes. Yes indeed.

Caleb I don't mean to be rude, but why don't we all play LoL, the game that a bunch of us already play instead of switching over to DoTA2 just because you like it more :/

Not true, for various reasons
1. There are top players in LoL, and people that are consistently better than others.
2. There is a fairly normal distribution of skill levels on the ELO system, meaning that there is definitely a large amount of skill to be gained at most levels of play due to the lack of players at the very top
3. DotA2 is opening with a $1 million dollar tournament. LoL is going to have a $5 million dollar tournament pretty soon.
LoL CAN be played very casually since it's easy to pick up and play at a low level, but playing with a premade in LoL is just as competitive as playing with a premade in DotA2.

You have no idea how anything about DotA 2 will be, so you don't have any room to state facts like you just did. Which brings me to my next point, I'm not switching to DotA2 because I like it more. How can I like a game that isn't even out yet? I"m just assuming I'm going to like it more, because I liked DotA a lot, and its being developed and backed by a major company. I just don't want to play LoL because I have WoW in the meantime and I don't want to re learn all the heroes and items. My last point: how do you even know what the DotA2 matchmaking system is going to be like? My assumption is that Valve is going to make it amazing, considering how abysmal the mming system in DotA1 was (and thats probably the only reason I haven't continued to play it religiously)
I'm not saying LoL can't be competitive, I know for a fact that Jason is very good at it, and I've watched competitive matches of it. However, from what I've heard for the most part its slightly dumbed down/casualed compared to DotA1. I'm not saying its a bad game.

DotA 2 is more competitive, still. Doesn't matter that there's top players in LoL. You're essentially telling the guy who has been playing more LoL than you for a longer time, and watches all the LoL streams about how LoL is competitive. LoL compared to DotA 2 is casual, no arguing that.
Many many people play LoL and I know that, but DotA is a more known franchise and will likely attract far more competitive players than LoL and HoN did.
Now I'm not saying I won't play LoL after DotA2 is released, nor am I saying that it will die. DotA 2 is just more widely recognized as more competitive

I never said anything negative about DotA2 in my post, I was only talking about why LoL isn't casual.
And DotA2 isn't supposed to have many changes from DotA, mostly just additions.
I'll be buying DotA2 when it comes out, it's just that you can't call LoL casual simply because it's more accessible.
