Maybe do a Custom Robo tourney. Dunno if it has enough depth but ah what the hex. It's just a one dollar thing.

I DO have a memory card with Custom Robo data in it. I don't think I have everything unlocked though. Yeah. I might only be missing illegal stuff. Which would be well, illegal. Yeah. Whatever I suppose.

Oh Arthur, I forgot to ask you this but what makes you think Mario and Sonic are so good in Project M? They haven't won any of the tournaments for it at all so far, or even came close really. VanZ won Pound 5 with Fox and Kage won Genesis 2 with Ganondorf. Those are the two major ones it's been at. If you look at the placings there is one Mario at 5th in Pound 5 and he was used only partially by that player. At G2 there isn't even a Mario or Sonic at all.

Last time I checked the M forums that's what my impression was. Or something like that. Not that there was an official tier list or anything. If there was I would just use THAT.

But uh yeah. I thought that's what I saw. I hate Sonic by the way.

Oh and Snake was bottom tier or something I think. SurPRISE! Just like in Crusade. Except in Crusade it's worse because their tiers are based off of COMPUTERS. Apparently.

Snake is a perfect example of a character that is good ONLY because of like TWO moves. If he didn't have his Ftilit or GRENADS he would be BONED. Even Utilt, I guess. Lol how would he kill without Utilt?

So would a lot of other Brawlers I guess. Like Falco, Diddy Kong, maybe. Ah well. What CAN you do.

Leviathon is a spirit I have battled as well. It was a hard battle but was won. It was about four months or more ago. My wife and I were in McDonalds and were having a conversation with an angel and Leviathon had come up. I told the angel that i wanted to fight this demon and he said I could. It's interesting to look at the different playstyles. 5th and above (the resident Melee pros) mostly played their Melee characters in their Melee styles as best as they could. The big exception (not counting G-Reg who played an irrelevant character) is Chu, who played mostly Kirby in a very Brawl/Brawl+ style. But he also plays Brawl more than the other players here. He ended up winning the tournament with the Brawlish, non-fancy, bait-and-punish, reading style that he has. He hardly even wavedashed.

Thunderhorse and I (and BigWenz a little bit) were the only really experienced Project M players here. We were the only ones using techniques new to Melee like RAR and AGT, and I was using either new characters or old ones with many new techniques that the Melee players hadn't seen before, but in the end it wasn't enough to overcome the skill gap (these are some of the best Melee players on the East Coast after all). It remains to be seen how large of an effect these new techniques and characters will have on the metagame.

Arthur, first of all that match was bad for snake because A. He wasn't very good and B. Snake vs. Sonic is obviously going to be a bad matchup for snake. Snake in Project M is about stage control, and sonic is too fast to let him do that. Also it was a pretty close match, and snake even had a suicide glitch caused by the spring (It's been there since Brawl they're still trying to fix it).

On another note, all of those abbreviations and acronyms were already in Brawl/Melee. I guess you think we should always say "short hop fast fall lag cancel forward air" instead of "SHFFL fair".

Also about your first comment, Snake got buffed in some areas and nerfed in others. He plays a lot differently now, with a focus on his Dsmash and C4 to get stage control and set up traps.

I still hate Sonic. I don't even remember if I watched the entire match. It's kinda like this one Skullgirls combo exhibition video thing. I watched for a while and the combo was just SO long ( It was around a 50 second long combo or something involving three supers somewhere in it ) that I grew super disgusted and stopped watching. With THAT match I saw Sonic using that idiotic Spin Garbage move so many times I was like "naw dude. This ain't me." And left the building. Got it? Good :3

My thing about the terms? Nah. A lot of them are fine. It's just that it SEEMS that people are so quick to jump on new secret nonsense to feel smart. Like, the DLX thing. I believe it's supposed to be like a dash attack cancel or something right? Well, what does DLX tell you? Nothing. I think it's supposed to be the name of the guy that discovered it or whatever. Dark Link X or whatever. It's just like narcissists that want airports and buildings named after them. Come off it. It's a videogame.

Like, as I mentioned. The Uzzdrop. It's just dropping a grenade. And yet the name does not reflect upon that. It's a needlessly complicated/nonsensical name that doesn't tell you what it's supposed to do.

Another example. You know how you can cancel normal attacks into each other in BlazBlue and GuiltyGear? Well, in those games it is called revolver action. Gatlings. Guess what canceling normals into each other is called in MAHVEL?

Magic. Magic series canceling or whatever. What the hell. I think Marvel actually came out before GuiltyGear. So whatever. Yet I do not see how “Magic” tells you anything. “Gatling” and “revolver action” I can see since it’s rapid stuff or whatever. Magic? Uh, no idea.

As for poking fun at the dudes and their obsession with techniques……I still think it is silly. As I think I mentioned, a lot of the posts are people talking about techy stuff. Like, uh, the guy that said ChuDat won without wavedashing. Uh…..and? The way those guys talk……there isn’t emphasis on poking or spacing or anything. It’s just cancelcancelcancel and moonwalking and vague **** like mindgaming with Sonic (I hate Sonic). Melee isn’t just some golldarned tech exhibition where you take turns seeing who can waveshine or jump cancel grab the best. Of course, it would certainly help you to know that stuff. And is necessary with certain characters. But just knowing tech stuff as a substitute for actually knowing how to play the game? I don’t think so.

And I still don’t think Snake could ever be good without his character being changed so much to the point where he wasn’t Snack anymore. He got lucky in Brawl. Maybe if he stayed the same and everyone else was nerfed. So, kinda how fighting games these days are balanced lolz. Just continually nerf everyone.

Just taking inventory here or something.

I have rules and fliers and stuff all set. What remains to be seen is the physical stuff. The hardware. The goods.

I need to know who's bringing what. So I know and stuff you dig?

1. Nintendo 64 and stuff. I'm sure there will be a 64 lying around. Just need to ask permission I guess.
2. Smash 64 cartridge. There will probably be a 64 cartridge somewhere. Not an issue.
3. Mario Kart 64 cartridge. Same as the above.
4. Gamecube or Wii. There will most likely be one around.
5. Melee Disc
6. Kirby Air Ride Disc
7. Star Fox Assault Disc
8. Gamecube Custom Robo Disc
9. Zelda Four Swords Adventures Disc
10. Brawl Disc
11. Gamecube/GBA link cables. Two of them.
12. Two GBA's or GBA SP's. Micro's will NOT cut it. I think. I have ONE usable GBA but it's kinda not so great.

Hee hee hee. Note how I am bringing like NONE of the mentioned stuff. THAT is how useless I am. On the other hand, I do have the rules and stuff and Stuff and STUFF. And great charisma and leadership skills. I am the commander, see. And I am pretty sure commanders are rather useless. They just sit around and order lackeys around that actually DO things. That will be me. :3

Also. No computer needed for brackets. I think so, at least. I am like, a bracket making PROZEEERRRSSS. I have it covered with a pencil and sticky notes or whatever those things are called.

Also X2. I was thinking about doing the whole "your tournament entry is discounted if you bring equipment along," but......nah. It's a dollar for entry and I really don't know if some of these tournaments will have more then two entries. If I did the discount thing there would be like NO prizes for winning. Sorry guys. Hope you understand. If you don't want to bring anything because you won't get free entry then........cool.

It's been awhile since I posted here, I haven't played Smash Bros. as often as I used to. I've been into Rock Band 3 as of late. I'm also an active member on Capcom-Unity Monster Hunter Tri forums.


I just wanted to say that I might make it to Senshi-con but unsure on Saturday.

Even if I were on Saturday I'm planning on setting up Rock Band (wii).

I've got:
-The Beatles: Rock Band

-Green Day: Rock Band

-Rock Band 3 (over 400 songs of varieties)

-One Instrument each including "pro" intruments used in RB3 only

I would set this up if only if I know for sure if there's a tv available. Sorry if this is not related to Smash bros. but I'd like to know for sure if you guys know more on Senshi-con in terms of setting up. Thanks in advance.

Project M tournament will be there. $2 entry fee and I will contribute $20 out of my own pocket to the prize pool if at least 6 people (that aren't complete casuals) join.

Payout is 70% first, 20% second, 10% third. Dollars will be rounded down for first and up for second and third.

So even if you get third you will come out a couple dollars ahead (assuming at least 6 people join)

And if you get first you get about $20 dollars assuming only 6 entrants.

Now that I think about it if FLAME CHALK was his only big thing I would be fine. That seems like it would be super important to him. Like, Ganon has really really good throw and a sick tech chase game. It's just difficult to get the grab off because of his speed combined with grab range. FLAME CHALK covers that sorta. It's like a long-ranged grab that goes immediately into tech chase. You could jump and then mix it up between aerial or FLAME CHALK. Maybe Link. Link now has a sword that is like 2x longer and the 64 BOOMERANG? Lol. The 64 boomerang......you throw it out and it like flies off into the horizon. It was crazy.

Just to confirm, turns out I won't be able to make it to Saturday and will miss the Brawl Tournament. Is the smash community going to be in Sunday's Senshi-con?

I heard about the Rock Band Tournament but I wonder what are the rules to it and which Rock Band game is part of the tournament?

My game was not ment to be conpetitive as I only have one of each intrument. I'll still try and set it up on Sunday for people to play casually.
