If you're willing to travel, we got...Possom I play smash 4. But I'm also trying to get better with melee. But smash 4 is my
main game that I love. When are tournaments and stuff. Again thank you so much for responding and helping
I'm definitely willing. Do all of them have every game?If you're willing to travel, we got...
- Birmingham Brawl - usually on the 4th Saturday of every month at 926 Oak Grove Rd, Birmingham, AL 35209-6916
- Huntsville Area Smash League - usually on the 3rd Saturday of every month at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the Charger Union
- Magic City Smash - Bi-weekly on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, though it's occasionally moved to Saturday. It's located at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in Heritage Hall
- Bring it On - I've not been to this one yet so i'm not as familiar with the details on it but you can find it at the University of Alabama in the Ferguson Student Center, Tuscaloosa, 35401
Here is a link to our Alabama Smash 4 Discord:I'm definitely willing. Do all of them have every game?
I highly encourage you to join the Alabama Smash 4 Discord server! Here you will find any additional info that you need and people willing to play, talk, and just have a good time.Hello, I just recently joined the smashboards (been a smash fan for a long time, haha), and I was wondering:
What events [big, small, etc.] are there in AL? I reside in the northern-central parts of the state, but I can be slightly flexible in where to go.
I play Smash 4 and Brawl mostly. I used to play Melee, but that was a long time ago.
I've never been to a Smash event, so I would like a run-down in rules and such (do I need to bring my own controller, how to register, etc.). Or, if there is a reference I can use to learn the rules, where can I find it? [Never mind, I found the rulesets page.]. However, where is the ruleset for Smash4? It seemed there was a lack of one.
Thank you very much in advance.
There are actually 2 discords. One which is the official "Alabama Smash Discord" and one that is the "Alabama Smash 4 Discord". You joined the former, but I highly recommend you join the latter. Both discords are great, but the latter is much more Smash 4 focused. Also this thread is mostly dead because everyone has moved on to communicating through discord. We talk there daily and would love to have you. This link will expire in 24 hours from this post so PM me if you don't join in time: https://discord.gg/3nfEaThank you both for the informative responds. I do have my own controller, so I'm good on that end.
It's a shame a couple of the seemingly bigger events are on hiatus, and I just missed the UAH smash event, but I guess that just gives me more time to practice, so it's not that big a deal.
Two more question: are there entry fees for the events that were listed? and;
Are there any prerequisites for entering HASL/vsHSV? (which I did just a bit of research on just now)
Lastly, I did join the Discord, not too long ago. My username is exactly the same on Discord as here.
EDIT: Read the ruleset, just one random question. Why is Sheik/Game and Watch a banned team set up?
Everyone uses discord nowJesus, this place fell off. I assume everybody just communicates through the ASL Facebook page now?
