Except for Inui, this will be a completely name free post, and is not directed at anyone specifically. Just pointing stuff out.

Somepersoneveryoneforgotabout presents: Crytime! MELEE ONLY.
I'm sure you see the difference. All over the place people are putting up these melee only threads for no reason. There's hasn't been a Brawl tournament this year that has announced itself as BRAWL ONLY. There's always melee set ups, or a side tourney going down. Which leads me to the following thesis. All strict melee players fall under the following of the representations; this is without fail:
1. Melee players, due to being new to competitive gaming, have refused to drop what they think was "Hard Work" in order to learn a new game. Without a certain understanding it might come as a surprise. The fact is, once a new game comes out, seldom is the community whole enough to keep it solely on the version before hand. That's the way things have always gone in the gaming community.
2. Melee players who are generally unknown throughout the community, will use the Melee only tag to show support to their faithful brethren. This is to get on a level of trust, and hopefully friendship, so they may reap the rewards of the inner sanctum. Many players watch youtube videos of gamers they idolize, and would cherish the idea of being a part of something so keen on their interests, while making friends, and possibly... Having fans. Due to Brawl being a larger community, or melee being more fun for them, they will shun the infant title, and keep a steady course backwards towards 80cent a minute cell phone plans, and moon shoes.
3. A complete distaste for people who play Brawl exclusively. Which leads me to: MM me in ST, Melee guy. Without ST, you'd have no smash at all.
I'm still not entirely sure why people sit and bash a video game so intensely. Perhaps it's the lack of limelight, or the mediocre sense of accomplishment they once worked so hard for. The fact is, you're splitting the community more than it has to be.
Now, if Meta knight is banned, this will separate the community further, as someone pointed out to me. Melee, vbrawl, vbrawl-mk, Bbrawl, Brawl+. That's the biggest uphill climb a community can face. This is ultimately killing competitive Smash.
In closing, stop being elitists. I wanna play both.
