Now as I was studying I've been thinking... "What am I doing here? Why am I studying? What the hell am I doing with my life?"

Well, I've been living... going out to have fun when I can... studying... eating... blah blah blah blah blah.

When I was young I always wanted to do something exciting... adventurous... maybe a bit ambitious... like becoming a rock star, a best selling author, the scientist who discovers the cure for cancer, or a pro athlete. I wanted to travel the world, go into space, and just be this amazing little famous super hero.

So I picked up a few instruments, a few sports, and I'm now in college for medicine.

Well, I think I know what I want to do with myself now...

When I finally get my medical degree, I want to travel the world with a party of friends with musical knowledge and expertise in medicine, dentistry, photography(etc etc) and assist the places we stay at(working at a hospital or something). Also, I want to write about it, take pictures, video tape it, and publicize it.

So yeah, a bit ambitious I know, but why the hell not. I want to see the world and learn some culture. I want to be in a traveling band. I want to meet new people. And maybe... just maybe the experience might give me some fame.

I find it kind of strange how such an inspiring moment hits me while I'm wasting away eating ramen in a dimly lit dorm room... but I am now determined to do something.

I want to leave my footprint on this planet. I want to say I wasn't your average ordinary guy. And I want to have fun :p

So what do you want to do with your life? Do you know yet? You might just find it in a bowl of uneaten ramen.

Good for you. Someone else I know is going to medical school next year. It's good to have aspirations.

I've had more than two decades' worth of instant ramen bowls, and all I know from that is that my life is expendable. I'd rather be cremated than buried. I won't leave a mark. Instead, I'll just fade with cigarette smoke into the neon skyline.

I want to go into a technology field such as computer programming and Sciences and make lots of money. With that, I'll travel around Europe. Yay

Wow. I'm glad you are so ambitious Tiger! Really, too many people chase the prize at the end of the rainbow without fully living, and its always so refreshing to see someone who does otherwise :D

Right now, all I want to do is become a Professor in terms of a job. If my hip-hop beats go somewhere, then great! But really, I'd think I'd enjoy being a professor extremely. Its one of the few jobs were I would be able to retain the person I am now, without having to compromise anything about myself, while still getting a very decent living. Its a long road and a lot of hard work, but its something I'd really love to do. Of course I'll travel a lot though. I plan on entering the Peace Core with my lover once I'm out of college. (PS, why do you need a college degree to go into the peace core or nearly any volunteer work????)

I love this blog Tiger.

I want to become a Digital Artist, and my dream would be to work for Pixar (as crazy as that sounds). If I can't do that, I'll be perfectly happy being a Digital Artist for anyone else, or I'd be happy teaching it. I work in a studio and earn a good bit of money and I'm getting great grades for the most part.

As for leaving a foot print on the planet, I believe that even if you pass away, you aren't really dead totally. You will live on in your family and friends, who will talk about you to other people and those people will hopefully talk about you, etc. You'll live on.

Good luck with Medical School. :)

Haha, I'm not -that- ambitious... I'm pretty lazy actually. But I feel determined on this one :p

Ahh good luck to becoming a professor!

I was thinking of entering the Peace Core too actually! Not sure when though, but I'd love to go with a few friends! Where do you intend on going?

Good luck to you! Anything in particular you are after?

Even though I'm expendable myself, I want to at least go out with a bang. I'm sure you'd leave a mark somehow :)

You should be a writer... I got a lot of emotion out of that response...

Oh good, now -I- don't have to say it :p Seriously tho, he like, posted that PG topic on whether or not politicians should really be held accountable for their extra marital affairs, and now all this is happening.

You SURE you're not THE Tiger Woods, TigerWoods? :chuckle:

But yeah, OP I think it's excellent you feel that way. Such enthusiasm is rare nowadays, with all this depression and whatnot. And it's a fairly equitable idea... Reality TV is like, the new smack, so basically, you roam the world like a House meets Road Rules or something, lol, it sounds like it'd be tons of fun and very educational.

But thanks! :p

I'm sorry to say you have no future after your most recent scandal.
Why? He's a golfer, he isn't a political icon or anything. I'm sorry, but Tiger has always been secretly very, very dirty. There is a reason they rarely mic what he's saying, and that's because people (who are on the court when he is putting) complain about his intense swearing. Tiger's got some blood on his claws, but they don't in any way make the cut any less sharp when he goes to work

. . . ehh sorry for derailing the thread

True. The universe just recycles your parts anyway.

More like a stain.

Actually, I majored in the life sciences so I could go into research. But that's not happening now. So, looking for a new raison detre. And not finding it.

I need to make my own reason. Otherwise, I'm just waiting to die.
You must have some hidden reason as to why you're alive, but you don 't know what that reason is yet. If you don't have one at all, then you'd have committed suicide by now.

When I'm old enough, I'd really like to help people out in poorer countries in some way. Otherwise, I'm not 100% sure yet what I want to do.

I wanna be an animist! Or an animator! Or both!My friends told me I was a good drawer and I'm pretty good at animating on Pivot. I grew up on anime for all my life. From toonami to manga to the computer. When I set my goals I seek to achieve it. My parents want me to be a dentist... Basically they just want a family of doctors, dentists, scientist, etc. Just anything serious.
I follow these 3 sayings because of other peoples opinions of what I should do.

1) Don't let people get in the way of your goal.
2) If there's an obstacle, avoid it.
3)Words can affect the mind, but they can't affect the way you think.

Yeah, but that takes effort.

No more questions. On to the people who actually have futures. >_>
"Oh... no." </leon>

ha! You sound just like my roommate from college. We used to go 'round and 'round w/excellent debates on things of exactly this nature... I haven't heard that kinda talk in a long time :p

Srsly tho, I'm in the same boat usually. I'm always puzzling over what to really do with myself, harping on the past and what -could- have been, looking at the future as a dim cloud of waste. I mean really, what ARE any of us REALLY doing here. I think depression is evolutionary, our reason has led us to realize we have no real purpose beyond that of any life form, like ants, or beavers, or lions, or trees. Just to be born, eat, ****, **** and then die. In that order a lot of times

So in this vein I turn towards others for meaning and purpose. My effect on others... that's my purpose. If I'm to be here on Earth, then I will do what I can to effect (positively, usually... >.>) the people around me. And by extension of the Internet, the world. Be it through Music, or a blog post on a gaming board, I do have the ability to effect others, for better or for worse, and this is why I live.

Suicide does take effort. There's also an innate fear of killing oneself when you aren't actually suicidal. And it serves even less purpose than staying around to F things up for everyone else :D

I'm actually a really indecisive person. I have a lot of passions, and I'm not sure which one I want to ultiamtely follow.

I really love dry art, i.e, not painting, and digital art. I have recently found out I love animating. I adore nature and dream of visiting a paradise of pure, virgin land with fields of tundric green grass dotted with elms, oaks, and dogwoods, all surrounded by a temerate forest and a stream with no animal life in it. I love animals, though, lol. I really like writing, and sometimes, as I'm walking home from school, I'll describe my surroundings as vividly as I can to myself. And I love studying the written language.

So yeah.

Good job and get there! Remember though, sometimes there is an unavoidable obstacle... which are the ones you have to jump over.

Hmm. Search around. I kind of found a way to mix my seemingly unrelated passions :)

Let us know if anything comes to you

I think that way too sometimes, though some philosopher's(I think?) answer kind of rung my bell.

Why are we here?
What's the point?
Why must I keep living?
Why should I help people that would just die anyway?
Why?

-Well, why the hell not?
