This is an idea I have had floating around in my head but I have never had the ability to write on it or make use of it. I wish i could but I have no writing skills.

1. Reflections in the rain.
---Have you ever looked at the cars driving on the street after a nice rain? There is a complete reflection of every car on the standing layer of dampness, and when your in downtown Omaha (like I am quite a bit) you can see a whole reflection of the city. I thought it would be neat if there was a story about an alternate world on the other side of this reflection, and somehow a girl or boy finds their way from our world to theirs. The catch in this story is the rain dries up and the person cant find their way back. Love interest of course would be a large factor, falling in love with someone from a completely different world. My idea stemmed from me putting my hand in a puddle and thinking "What if my reflection had a mind of its own and pulled its hand away from mine?"

Stupid I know, any thoughts?

I wrote a poem entitled "The Still Waters" a while ago. It talked about reflection and everyone true inner evil.

Your story idea is..... kinda corny but it has poem potential.

A very similar thing happens in His Dark Materials.

If you're interested in writing, I think you should do some reading. It could be fiction or non-fiction, but preferably a book of some type.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^this

You have much to learn young gwass hoppah. If you are like me and like dark drama then might I suggest The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Frankenstein.
All three are beautifully written and I think they help you grasp dark themes and sadness (I know they helped me).
But the thing is, why do you enjoy writing? Do you like drama, mystery, sci-fi or what?
There are a lot of smart people on here they can help you get off to a good start.

That was one of very few books I just gave up on as a kid.

Like 40 pages into Northern Lights I was like boooooooring. I'm never like that with books, but people kept saying it was amazing and I just couldn't stand it. :/

This. Go pick out some well-regarded titles from a genre that you're interesting in writing and spend some time reading them. You have to be a good reader to be a good writer.

Just make a book about yourself, it'll be the funniest **** ever.

Yourself til you got banned that is, nothing is even remotely interesting after that.

Yes. The first book was called Northern Lights here (its country of origin derp). Its name was changed for North America just like the Philosopher's Stone, because North American children were seen as too illiterate and unable to pronounce stuff to handle philosopher.

Lul

Northern Lights probably had some other issue for the title change.
