2009 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

I have three hopes for the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs:

1. Now that the Devils got eliminated by Carolina again (this time on goalie interference), I want the Bruins to crush the Hurricanes..

2. I want Doc Emrick (Don't think I spelled that right) to get fired. He might as well have yelled "I'm rooting for the Hurricanes." And he's the Devils' announcer. Plus, he's obnoxious.

3. I hope the Ducks win the West. It's most likely going to be the Canuckleheads, but I and everyone else in my house is rooting for the Ducks (My dad's three least favorite teams are: the Blackhawks, the Canucks, and the Red Wings)

Pittsburgh lost... They had so many scoring oppurtunities they didn't capitalize on. They need to win Game 2 or their chances won't be good.

Overtime Ducks and Red Wings. It's been a great game to watch. I only watched the 3rd period for the most part though. Detroit dominated it but as long as Hiller keeps making saves Anahiem stands a chance.

Woo hoo 2nd Overtime. I thought for sure the Red Wings were gonna win after Niedermeyer got the penalty for tripping. The Wings were all over the net before the penatly a Duck was able to touch the puck. I'm not sure if Anaheim can hold on if this keeps going so they've gotta score soon.

This series will be a back and fourth one if Hiller plays awsome in net. If not Detroit will have this in 5 or 6. The Red Wings outshot Anaheim along with hits and face-offs. It's going to have to be like 2003 all over again when Giguere was in net. Merchant barely scored that goal in 3OT. 1-1 going back to the Pond.

Wow this series has been intense so far. Definitely makes for some fun to watch hockey. Still saying Wings in 6, though

Alright 2-1 Anaheim. If they can just go up 3-1 that'll be huge. No gaurantees though. Can't wait till game 3 of the Penguins and Capitals. Great series so far; especially between Crosby and Olvechkin.

Ahhh!! the Ducks got owned! It's a series though so it's going to go back and fourth; especially against the Red Wings. Hopefully this Sunday's game will go into a third or fourth overtime.

I live in Pittsburgh, so I guess I have to support the Pens. However, I can never really get into watching the games. IMO, the sport does not translate well to TV. Perhaps this is because I have bad vision and cannot see the puck.

I fail at wearing my glasses.

I would have never thought the Chicago Blackhawks would have made the Western Conference Finals. I wonder if they have enough to beat Detroit or Anaheim.

Game 7 between Penguins and Captials on Wednesday should be epic.

C'mon Ducks take it to 7. The Red Wings have outshot them so bad this series.

I am an all out flyers fan and can't wait for the Caps to slaughter the wretched Penguins and Crosby the whiner. Ovechkin scored a hatrick and Crosby asked Ovechkin to please quiet down the crowd. WHAT A BABY.

Alright 3 game 7's to close out the 2nd round. My predictions are:

Hurricanes over Bruins 2-1 OT
Penguins over Canes 3-2 2OT
Ducks over Red Wings 3-1 (Realistically 2-1 but Anaheim will score on empty net)

It would be cool to have 2006 Champion Canes against the 2007 champion Ducks or 2008 Champion Red Wings in the Finals to close out who's the better team in the last half of the decade. A Red Wings/Penguins finals would be cool to see again too. Then again the Blackhawks would have a nice story if they won or the Bruins. Overall it's a great playoff year.

I'm a Ducks fan though..so I'm pulling for them. I just wish they retained the Mighty Ducks logo instead of that stupid Duck Print. Who's lame idea was that?

Ahhh!!!! The Ducks are eliminated. The Red Wings were the better team though. At least Anaheim put up a series and went out reasonably.

If the Red Wings are in the Stanley Cup Finals the fans will get a 2002 Finals rematch or a 2008 finals rematch. I'm not sure who will win the Canes/Penguins series. The Canes have been to the Finals twice but the Penguins are an awsome team. I didn't expect Chicago to get this far so I have no idea how good they are. I so thought Calgary was gonna win the opening series and then believed Vancouver would.

Red Wings and Penguins Stanley Cup Rematch. Should be smashing. I have no prediction who will take it. The Penguins have been hot but Detroit's been playing awsome; esecially Dan Cleary who keeps getting key goals for them.

Detroit won! I knew they'd win the first one. I've got a feeling that Penguins will win Game 2, but Detroit will win the series.

bump?

Incredible series. The Pens definitely deserved it. I really thought they had no shot at winning a Game 7 at the Joe.

I would've given the Conn Smythe to Fleury instead of Malkin though....not like it really matters.
