Smash Journeyman
Hi Everyone. For our 8th installment of Smash Sundays we are teaming up with a local Quinnipiac sponsored club for a fundraiser. The club is APSA (Asian Pacific-islanders student association.) We will be playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It will be at Quinnipiac University and you will NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER. The event will start at 12 and we will be playing there during and after the tournament well into the night. We have the room booked till midnight so if you want to stay and play after, you are more then welcome to. Tickets will be 5$ for singles, and 10$ for teams.

Location/Time
When: Feb. 22 at 12:00 pm
Where: Quinnipiac University (275 Mount Carmel av. Hamden, CT 06518)
It will be located in the school of business in Mancheski conference room (the building with the glass dome on it.)
We will be selling tickets in the weeks prior to the event as well as at the door.
RULES:
Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match if desired

Starter Stages will be:
1. Final Destination
2. Smashville
3. Battlefield
4. Yoshi's Island
5. Lylat Cruise
Counterpick stages will be:
1. Castle Siege
2. Halberd
3. Delfino
4. Pokémon Stadium 1
5. Brinstar
6. Corneria
7. Distant Planet
8. Frigate Orpheon
9. Green Greens
10. Jungle Japes
11. Norfair
12. Pictochat
13. Pirate Ship
14. Rainbow Cruise
All characters and strategies are viable (unless you’re just trying to waste time. The specific time wasting strategies I’m referring to can be looked up at smashboards.com as well any we will be mostly following the recommended rules from smashboards. The smashboards rules can be found here ). We will run 2/3 three stock matches, with an 8 minute time maximum time limit. Final matches of winners and losers brackets will be a best of 5.
This is open to anyone, not just QU students, bring your friends, family, co-workers etc.

Some refreshments will be served. First come first served
Prizes
Winner of singles will receive a 60$ Best Buy gift card.
2nd Place will receive a 30$ Best Buy gift card.
Winners of doubles will receive a 80$ Best Buy gift card.
